I like cheese.

I got booted from practice and thought, Uh oh, this is not good.
Did not see the lights change to green and Jim was telling me to Go! Volvo went nowhere.
Finally got it going and was in P5 by then. I started working my way forward, passed some as they fell by the wayside, and others by the sheer speed and power of the Volvo. Overtook @TrumpetReich for P1 through turn 1 on lap 6, but didn't know he was a close as he was as we were exiting the Keyhole, and we touched. Got going again in 6th I think, worked my way back to P2 and by that time everybody was blinking in and out as my internet connection kept getting worse. Then, with a few minutes left in the race POOF! I was booted from the server. :(
Ol' Volvo raced better than I thought it would.
Yeah. When you were in front of me, you were blinking in and out.

Yeah...The Volvo and the CSi would pull away on the straights and gain so much ground that after a while even being faster through the twisties would not help much. You guys made so much time on the straights.

If not for two spins at T4 I would have been a lot closer. Both spins happened the same way: Downshift just a bit to early and the rears locked.

A few times I came out of T9 in full opposite lock, but was able to keep it together.

All in all it was a fun race.

For those of you who were not there at the end or left soon after, I ran the Gp. C Porsche at Mid-Ohio and it handles a hell of a lot better. If we do those cars again I think we will see a night and day difference.

I found that shifting up earlier and down shifting later and sacrificing some cornering speed was faster for me and saved the tires. I ran soft, changed fronts only and still had roughly 75% life on rears at the end. Not what I expected when I ran these cars immediately after update as I could barely put two laps together, the physics combined with the FFB updates make driving each of these cars all whole new, and exciting, experience.
Twist my arm.....I will add the Group C into the schedule for late January.:ninja:

Hehe I was close to sign up - but then after converting the time to European 03.50 in the night I decided to get my monthly beauty sleep instead :roflmao:

EDIT
As an excuse (beside the beauty sleep:whistling:) I would perhaps have joined when I was younger.
About 10 years ago I was member of the US based FSB league (GTP mod for NR2003) and the mandatory race time was about 1 hours later than your 21:50 ET.
It was almost morning in Denmark when post racetalk was finished and I could get to bed.
Those were the days:rolleyes:

Well, I still hate what the update did to these cars, but it was a fun race. I think even a race to watch the skybox change would be fun with this group.

The good 'ol two tyre stop worked it's magic and got me back up near the front. Until I made themistake of talking to a friend and forgetting to brake. I found myself far behind p5 and far ahead of p7 nearing the end so I figured I'd spice things up by pitting again and seeing what would happen. As luck would have it, I came out right by @David DeGreef in the lead, not the optimal place. Sorry for that tap @ko41

Man! You and had that Skyline moving! Made me wish I was able to keep the Volvo from shredding soft tires like cheese. Good race!
Thank you. I am surprised I was the only one to run that car. I was trying my best to get caught back up but I was cooking the fronts in the process. Did a 2 tire stop and still had more life in the rear tires then the fronts at the end. It pushes SO bad but I found if you get it a quick bootfull of throttle at the right time you can get the rear to start come at and 4 wheel slide out of a turn.

Sadly I made too many mistakes. Missed the start because I didn't have any lights come on. Got spun being timid at the start because the 2 guys around me were blinking. I spun a couple times on my own pushing to hard. The real killer though. I completely blew by my pit stall because I was thinking It was at the end of pit lane. I had to stop think to myself what the hell just happened, reversed down pit road. (I am sure the virtual stewards were freaking out), stalled the car when I tired to go forward into my pit stall. LOL I probably lost a good minute with all that. Live and learn.

What I really liked was everyone was clean and respectful. That was so much more enjoyable then any race of done on Iracing.

@JACE323 , and with all those problems I think you still beat me :O_o:.
My goal was to stay clean, which I did. Panicked a bit when @ko41 passed me at pit entrance and then started to disappear/reappear. Really glad he didn't reappear on my bumper.

Yea it always makes me nervous when I'm in position to pass when someones blinking! You try to anticipate their move, or just sit back and wait....which sucks. Ol ' @ko41 has been on a terror lately. It's a shame he lost connection in a couple races he had a shot at. Actually all you guys are getting faster(or I'm getting slower!). Great racing guys. Good group here. Hopefully next season will be even better!

btw I went back and ran some laps in the Volvo, and man that thing is stable. I should have run that in the race, but I literally had an hour seat time since the new update, and that was in the big boy bimmer. And I also did some laps in the new 911 gt3 car @Hockenheim..... All I know is that is the most fun car I've ever driven in a sim!!!!

I think I did end up passing the same guys a few times after it was all said and done. Just glad I didnt make thing any worse getting past. I try to be smart when it comes to passing and give room. The blinking is definitely a butt pucker thing. I was nervous as all get out on the first lap then me and someone ended up getting door to door over it. Sorry to whoever that was.
