Additional Information

1) When signing up you must post your Steam ID, so that we know who is who.

2) You must ensure that you have read and understood our Racing Club Rules before signing up. Ignorance is no excuse.

3) Do not click the Exit button at the end of qualifying. Just wait for the host to advance the session.

4) You must manually confirm that you are ready before the timer preceding the race ends or you will be automatically DQ'd.

5) If the event uses a two race format, you will be returned to the lobby after race one. Simply head back to the track and there will be a five minute "super-pole" followed by race two.

6) We strongly advise the use of Crew Chief, an app which gives you a spotter during races. This will provide audio cues when cars are alongside, greatly increasing your awareness and reducing the frequency of unnecessary incidents.

The practice session will be in the late evening (18:00), while qualy and the races will be at night (20:00/22:00 respectively). I strongly suggest that you test performance on your system (especially if using VR) by racing against ~20 AI, with you starting at the back of the grid. Better to make sure your rig can handle things before you get into the real race, as otherwise it'll just cause chaos.

As an aside, I originally had the P1s down for this event, but it turns out the Ginetta is the only one with working headlights. The others can be toggled on and off, but cast no light. :thumbsdown:

@Goffik
Do we have to drive in the dark? I think it will lead to major restrictions for most of us ... including me. I drive in VR or on the monitor in DQHD. With both things, i’ve a worse performance in the dark than during the day. :(

Do we have to drive in the dark?
That's the event, so yes we do. I've kept time of day consistent and weather changes out of the club entirely so far, because they aren't everyone's cup of tea and I know it impacts performance. (I'm in VR too.) However, as AMS 2 is one of the few sims that has such features I think it's only right that we occasionally make use of them. (And I do mean occasionally.)

I think most non-VR users with a mid-range rig will be absolutely fine. Any VR user with a 1060 or better should be ok too... that's what I have, and I can run 20 cars with this combo just fine. Those struggling could try lowering their graphics settings for this race, or as a last resort sitting it out. Unfortunately we can't please everyone all of the time.

For me that's completely fine and of course it's good that we also use what is available to us. I therefore support your arguments..

I tested with mid-range settings yesterday and unfortunately almost never reached my 120 FPS consistently. (1080Ti OC on 5120x1440). But I'll drive in VR as an alternative, because fewer resources are required in VR due to the lower resolution with the same graphic-setting.
If anyone here has a few tips on particularly resource-intensive graphics settings that should be deactivated - please post here.
We'll definitely have a cool race. :thumbsup:
