The VRC Modding Team have released the much anticipated Formula NA for Assetto Corsa - with discounts available for RaceDepartment Premium members!

Including two unique high performance open wheel racing cars from two very different eras of the sport and a high quality track, with a 2018 version of the same type of car and additional circuit set to follow suit in the very near future, this is one incredibly exciting mod for Assetto Corsa that covers some of the most popular forms of motorsport in the world of open wheel racing over the last 20 years...

What's included in the pack?

At launch the VRC Formula NA pack will include:

Formula NA 1999 (Road and Oval versions)
Formula NA 2012 (Road and Oval versions)
VRC SouthStar Motorspeedway Track

It is to be noted that the Formula NA 2018 car will be added to the package shortly after release, and will come at no additional cost to those who purchase the initial pack of two cars (four configurations) and the VRC SouthStar Motorspeedway.

Additionally an as yet unannounced circuit will be joining the pack at a future date to be confirmed.

How much will it cost?

The full pack, with the initial two cars and track plus the 2018 version with the unannounced track due to be released later will retail for $15, or alternatively you can purchase the items separately as detailed below:

Formula NA 1999 (Road and Oval versions): 4.5$
Formula NA 2012 (Road and Oval versions): 4.5$
The VRC southstar track: 4.5$

Are all the cars designed with real-world data? I'm not sure how easy 2018 data would be to come by. The older stuff isn't likely to be that closely guarded by teams and manufacturers.

Right guys treat this as a first friendly warning. The thread is about the mod not for philosophical ramblings about free versus paid mods. We have more than enough of them in other threads.

I'm in without a second thought.
Anything like the '1999 Formula NA' is a must have for me.
Not interested in the semi envelope bodied cars at all but the CART and Champcars series between 1990 and 1999 were one of my all time favourite open wheel series.

Sorry. But i will not buy this. 1st at all AssettoCorsa is not the game for this kind of mod. AC has no pace car, rolling start or the regulations for the CART series. 2nd there is a complete free mod for Automobilista with all you need for a complete IndyCar experience. CartExtreme has all the cars, real paint jobs and you can get all the original tracks of this time period. 3rd, AC is now on sale at Steam and cost only 14 bucks. VRC did a good job, but this mod is just too expensive for an old game like AC.

I don't even know anymore man, our country has just went through an election and the corrupt right wing people won again. I just want to get home and try out this 1.1 update. I really need some escapism right now.

For me this mod is worth the money.

I love the cars, and will spend more time with them in the coming weeks, but for me the standout is the track - simply because its so new to me.

I don't follow oval racing much (bar the 500) and I've never driven them in sims before. I'm really enjoying the new experience, plus the track looks gorgeous and performs well FPS wise (compared to my only other 'oval-ish' experience in AC, that Daytona mod).

I have been using this new mod since Saturday. It is excellent. I love it.
The two 90s cars are very demanding and challenging to drive (haven't tried the other cars yet much). But they make perfect sense and so are extremely rewarding. This mod is well worth it, and the oval track is excellent - driving round it in the oval version 90s car is exhilirating, you can not lose concentration for one millisecond - leaves me breathless.
