I know we are all excited for this release. What I don't know is how many people intend to a) play it on the xbox one and b) would like to join some sort of a formal league here at Race Department.

There are so many possibilities, I've had to calm myself down from getting lost in them. However, my main passion, IndyCar, will probably not be able to be run until the DLC with the ovals comes to the Xbox One.

That said, what sort of series would you like to see? Personally, ones that come to mind are Tudor United Sports Car Series, WEC, British Touring Car, and DTM. One of these could fill the gap for me until IndyCar is possible, but others may have better ideas.

Please indicate below if you are interested and what sort of times you are available and which series' you prefer. We could follow the actual schedule of many a series, due to the timing of the release. Personally, if they get the ovals out before IndyCar starts, I'll probably turn my focus there, but nothing would prevent running another alongside.

The anticipation is killing me!

The UK guys should add each other and set up a practice schedule during the week. US guys are fortunate in the fact we're pretty much all in the same time zone except Chips (Central). I will have a online lobby regardless at 9pm EST with race conditions 6 humans and maybe 8-10 AI fillers at 90% so if no-one shows I won't be racing alone.

Can you actually race online without any other humans involved? Cool if so as in F1 and Grid Autosport (I think) it wouldn't allow a race to start with less than two humans drivers.

****Announcement****

Following lengthy negotiations Aston Martin are pleased to announce their previously independent racing entries of drivers Peter Hooper and Damon Harris have agreed to join forces for the remainder of the British GT3 Championship.

With a solid start to the Championship Damon Harris looks like a credible threat to current favourite Michael Watts at Dyno-Might Motorsports while veteran F1 driver Peter Hooper brings a wealth of experience to the track. We are hopeful that Peter’s experience and Damon’s pace will provide a successful collaboration and help to bring the Aston Martin marque back to the forefront in the current Championship and provide a strong challenge to the other manufacturers over the rest of this season.

I have Wednesday off, so I can join Michael. Not sure I want to do a whole session but I'll just leave and I think you can continue despite being 1. Hopefully Railer and Chips may be there. Others? Railer will miss this weekend possibly, but the oil sheiks said it was okay as long as we send them 40 virgins. I'll have to work on that w/o getting arrested. In any case, testing of the pit bug will probably have to be done at a time when we can eliminate all other variables. That will take quite a while and be very tedious. Right now, it's a hypothesis, and establishing that a blown engine alone is the cause would mean also establishing that all other variables that happened to be present during the pit bug were not present. I wish I could find posts on the SMS forum about this issue specifically in multiplayer, but I can't. I think they are aware of being stuck though and it will be addressed in the next patch, however, it's probably not worth going to the trouble of extensive testing until M/S gets off their ass and releases 2.0. Then again, M/S catches a lot of B.S. devs try to pass, so maybe the delay is a good thing.

You'll never be able to eliminate all other variables without having stacks of time to mess around. It was just an idea to see if the pit bug really does happen 'all' the time when a mech. breakdown occurs. If it doesn't then other factors must be involved but if it does then there's a fair indicator it is linked in some way. Not conclusive of course but just an indicator.

I haven't seen SMS mention the issue either which is disappointing.

I do believe its to replicate real life or something, you getting the f1 game this weekend peter?

Yea, the gap is not always there, because the idea *is* to race every weekend, but also follow the schedule. So, I broke up some of the races in order to have more races instead of 2-3 hours slogs (which is actually how the Series in Britain does it, but just keeps the same track for Saturday and Sunday races) and so we could race closer to every weekend since the British GT has massive gaps in its schedule.

It seems that the DX12 update later this year will not have the implied performance improvement in pCars. Although Ian Bell indicated this previously I have just read another thread where he again re-iterated that improvement of 6-7% but that it would require an engine re-write to achieve. This was followed up by saying that an engine re-write for this version was unlikely. So pCars 2 will probably take advantage but not our current favourite.

If Patch 2 provides the improvement promised I am not too fussed though but just thought I would point it out.

Good stuff Peter. As I see it, when all is said and done, the xbox will have seen upwards of a 28-32% rendering/performance increase from game release. And I didn't think that was so bad after 1.4. The next just to 17% should be fairly noticable.

I dont think basic performance is really something that im bothered at this stage, they need to sort bugs out rather then how its running at base value
