RENNSPORT to Host Summit Event to Debut New Racing Simulator

A new simulation title from RENNSPORT will be debuted to the world at a summit event this weekend, with 100 personalities from the world of sim racing in attendance.

When RENNSPORT announced its plans to release a racing simulator earlier this year, there was understandably some scepticism from the sim community. But the project has progressed to the point where the developer is ready to showcase an early build to the world.

100 sim racing personalities from around the world have been invited to a summit event RENNSPORT is hosting. The event will take place over three days from the 27th of May to the 29th. Attendees will be able to learn more about the title directly from the developers, and will be given the opportunity to race a pre-release version the first time before sharing their impressions with the public.

A follow-up tweet from the RENNSPORT team asked Twitter if they should share gameplay footage in advance of the event, which of course garnered a positive response.

To date, very little has been shared about the upcoming title. A few stylish renders of Porsche and BMW GT3 cars in showroom mode, plus a few action shots at Hockenheim with the same cars.

Multiple members of the RaceDepartment team, including myself, will be attending the event. Be sure to check back often for news from the RENNSPORT summit and follow our Twitter and Instagram closely over the course of this weekend.

Are there specific facets of the title that you want to learn more about? Let us know in the comments below what information you're hoping to learn from the event, and we will try to incorporate it into our coverage of the event through future articles. For questions and discussions regarding the title please check out the RENNSPORT forum.

wrong.
AMS2 cannot be be PC4, because its based on the last state of PC2 and the underlaying Madness engine.
Reiza cannot enhance the engine, its not part of the deal.
But AMS2 will get that PC2, that it should have been.
PC3 has an enhaced engine, regardless what SMS has done with it in PC3 and PC4 will also have a further enhanced engine. I hope they'll do a better job with it under the hood of EA.
Looking on that what Reiza did, we see that Madness engine is better than its reputation.
But we also see how much time they need to get rid of the buggy PC2 code.
So basically you are saying that AMS2 is exactly the same as PC2 (because Reiza cannot change the engine) but with different content?

Reiza can indeed change the content the way they see fit. They have already done that in many respects.
Their target however is different from the complete re-write that SMS has promised as Madness Engine 2.0 and a new LiveTrack too for PC4.

This is from their own website and I quote:

"It’s our obsession to create the perfect racing game with you. Ready for ultra-realistic sim racing but also fun to drive"

You know what this means and how many times we've heard it already......

Ultra realistic "sim" = Graphics

Fun to drive = Arcade like driving.

No, i didn't. Can't you read? I wrote "started with" !!!!! the source code of PC2 and the engine of PC2. That are 2 different parts.
They enhanced and developed the source , added their own content, but will never get a new engine.
For some who cannot differentiate between that 2 parts, an example
ACC:
Game = ACC, Engine = Unreal Engine 4
AMS2:
Game = PC2 enhanced, Engine = Madnes Engine of 2018
PC4:
Game = who knows ;), Engine = Madness Engine of 2023

very idiotic statement.
so i would counter
AC = fun to drive, very outdated graphics, so its arcade only?????
What a dump mind

I could explain the meaning of those phrases, and what I meant, but I don't waste time educating idiots (sorry).

Not particularly idiotic, just reading comprehension. “But also fun to drive” implies an ultra realistic sim in and of itself would not be fun to drive, and thus the extension that a sim must be made “arcade” to be fun to drive is not much of a reach. Alternatively it’s just a marketer’s way of ensuring the broader audience that it’ll still be fun.

That said, I’d lean towards the first, the car drives like a boat in that video (huge lack of combined grip, high inertia, slow tire slip dropoff, etc).

I always welcome new players to the market, can only benefit the consumers. I will reserve any judgement until some more gameplay / reviews come out. Who knows, we could get lucky and it turns out to be a gem. Time will tell.

Gee, Mr. Bell I said the exact same thing 10 years ago ;)

For me the big picture is, well imagine in those 10 years if some studios ( 3/4) collaborated to design engine that they all use and develop long term and over time sell to any other studios want to join
or new sim studios

Whole thing could be separate development company, greenlight, 1 car, 1 track for community to analyze for years

Have every released sim contain "a fantasy test car" that are identical, so you would pick up the nuisances of smaller tweaks each studio would do

Best bit would be 3/4 sims with full series, championships, career modes, etc. etc.

PC4 exists... it's called Automobilista 2 (that is PC3, 4 and will be the 5, trough patches). Because of EA, SMS will never again deliver a good game... all the hope is lost
It’s a shame AMS2 isn’t on console, as I am between PC’s at the moment, but I fear you are right, The whole EA is ruining most of our beloved hobby
