RENNSPORT to Host Summit Event to Debut New Racing Simulator

A new simulation title from RENNSPORT will be debuted to the world at a summit event this weekend, with 100 personalities from the world of sim racing in attendance.

When RENNSPORT announced its plans to release a racing simulator earlier this year, there was understandably some scepticism from the sim community. But the project has progressed to the point where the developer is ready to showcase an early build to the world.

100 sim racing personalities from around the world have been invited to a summit event RENNSPORT is hosting. The event will take place over three days from the 27th of May to the 29th. Attendees will be able to learn more about the title directly from the developers, and will be given the opportunity to race a pre-release version the first time before sharing their impressions with the public.

A follow-up tweet from the RENNSPORT team asked Twitter if they should share gameplay footage in advance of the event, which of course garnered a positive response.

To date, very little has been shared about the upcoming title. A few stylish renders of Porsche and BMW GT3 cars in showroom mode, plus a few action shots at Hockenheim with the same cars.

Multiple members of the RaceDepartment team, including myself, will be attending the event. Be sure to check back often for news from the RENNSPORT summit and follow our Twitter and Instagram closely over the course of this weekend.

Are there specific facets of the title that you want to learn more about? Let us know in the comments below what information you're hoping to learn from the event, and we will try to incorporate it into our coverage of the event through future articles. For questions and discussions regarding the title please check out the RENNSPORT forum.

I bet this is Raceroom 2.0 aka GTR3 and it's quite obvious when watching the video on a small screen. Just looks (from the FOV/camera-movement) and sounds like Raceroom to me:whistling:

So they already said that more series are being developed... This is great then.
Imagine they buy licences for german touring cars... that would be awsome.

We should get a historic racing sim. I mean AC basically covers that with mods but it would be nice for something more professional with proper servers and career modes
Personally, the servers and career with AC seems fine. Give me marginally competent AI and basics like full course yellow or a rolling start first :roflmao:

Love to see a new player on the sim racing scene. Especially when they show actual gameplay! :p Not a huge GT3 fan, but if it's an enjoyable title, I might give it a look regardless. Optimistic but cautious "wait and see" approach from me.

On NFTs... I have no dogmatic aversion to NFTs -- perhaps it'll end up being used in some really cool way -- but it would be ideal to be able to experience the game without having to get into the NFT stuff at all IMO.

Hard pass at the moment for me.

It looks pretty, but their website is so inundated with marketing spiel and the hinting at the implementation of an NFT style system throughout leaves a bad taste in my mouth, plus the ESports direction...no thanks. If it's GT3 only for now then what sets it apart from other sims?

The handling look wrong. Right in the first corner, the car front end feel like understeer & all the wheel start to float. Why sim have 4 wheel drift understeer?

It's like an exaggerated behavior of high profile winter tires during summer.

edit:
I applaud those 100 warriors going through it. This is mental.

Is it just me or inclusion of NFT is a hype word to get more investors money on board rather than actually needed solution in simracing?

I really hope that in pursuit of money they won't forget about their userbase needs...

PS: I know that money is important, but there's an important connection between the investors success and actual game needs.

I actually think the physics looked pretty good. The throttle and wheel inputs seem to line up for me. I'll bite when it comers out. Shrug shoulders

Looks like Simbim found an investor at the end...

(No sim comes out from nowhere so I think someone bought/financed Simbim work...which Porsche they teased some time ago?)

Looks and sounds quite good from what I see. Looks like a mix between ACC and AMS2, which I like.

But I expect that it will be a mess because they choose for Unreal Engine, and ACC has shown us terrible VR performance in UE. Let's hope that UE5 gives good VR performance like AMS2 for example but I expect the worst tbh. And no word about VR worries me even more. With no focus on VR it will be a no buy for me, no matter how good the rest is.

Exactly, Rennsport is just GTR3.... with the majority ownership/backing of Porsche.
