fantastic new visuals! i wish it would be possible to have the same beautiful level of detail further out away from the road, but i totally understand why it cant be. this is definitely gonna be my go to cruising map for a while.

Yeah there has to be some balancing done to keep this behemoth track running. Maybe in a newer graphics engine more details could be a thing, who knows?

When v0.8 was released I had to try it as soon as I got home from work and that created an unexpectedly immersive experience.
I was sitting in front of the computer with the Oculus Rift on my head, while still dressed for the client meeting I had earlier, and
I took the Porsche Panamera for a spin around the canyons at night.
Being in work clothes, driving a 4 door saloon at normal road speeds in VR on this track made it so immersive that after some time I totally felt like a wealthy business woman who is casually cruising home in her expensive car through the canyons.
I cannot think of any other moment when I felt that kind of immersion in a game and that alone deserved a donation.
I can't ask for more at this stage, looking forward to more of the same.

If my daily commute was through the canyons, I'd probably never make it to work :D

Excellent! As a near resident driving on these same canyon roads as Matt, this track work looks incredible! I've only driven on v0.55 so far, but can't wait to do some laps on 0.81 this weekend. Looks fantastic! Major upgrade from 0.55 for sure. You should stop by for lunch at Neptune's Net!

I'm actually from the UK (London) otherwise I'd certainly stop by at Neptune's Net... Have heard great things about it :)

Keep your eye out for the night servers for an additional challenge... Currently there's a Flat Out night time canyon server.
With 20+ cars meeting for a night run, could easily get very intense! :) Search 'Canyons'

C'mon! This is too good.

The latest 0.8x patch just makes it almost perfect.

Driving in VR through the canyons of LA, other cars set to low skill level so I can take it nice and easy (but still faster than anyone would in real life), is just too wonderful and hypnotic.

Try a Nissan or Merc, lazily skimming the apex, swooping left and right and right and left, speeds steadily increasing until taking corners at 130mph seem completely natural, the trees flying by, a blur in your peripheral vision.

Sounds like you're driving it in the perfect way... getting in the flow these many many corners this area has to offer.

Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road's corners can be taken even faster than 130mph... In my opinion one of the most exciting roads in the area... along with the full 39km Angeles Crest run.

Where do you start on a mod that delivers at this level? This is an outstanding experience - and I use that word specifically, as this is precisely what it is. In a single mod, AC is transformed into a driving experience where all of the road cars take on a new fresh context. I find myself wanting to drive everything here. And in VR....Another Level.

With ACC about to get its legs, mods like this are strong reminders that AC is far from done......far far far from done.

I don't think during all my time testing.... that I found a car that isn't fun. Even the racing cars seem to love it... even if the ride is a little bumpier... Road setups may be required to keep the Race Cars more settled.

Amazing stretch of road, looks great and runs well with AI. Check out social sim racing 24/7 server to race online.
