Engberink on a roll
Coming from the high of a home win, Tim Engberink kept up the momentum, taking back to back wins. In a intense battle against pole setter Old Wolf and Jimmy Laad, the Dutch driver came out on top. The second round of pitstop proved to be crucial, Engberink gained important seconds by overcutting, doing some quick laps on low fuel. Wolf had held the race lead so far, but the fresh tyres didn't make up for the higher fuel load. He lost out to both Engberink and Laad, who pitted later. Utzer came home forth, he didn't quite have the pace to challenge for the podium. Keranen bounced back from his DNF last round and took 5th. Lutz was off pace today, finishing last.
The championship seems to turn into a 2-way battle between Engberink and Laad, the two being tied on 27 points. The gap to 3rd placed Keranen is 13 points already.

3 in a row
Engberink continued where he left off at the French GP, taking another win in Hockenheim. Starting 3rd on the grid he chose another strategy than the other drivers, opting for a 1 stopper. It brought him into 1st place when all others headed to the pits, and he kept it some laps later after he himself stopped. Lutz was charging him in the closing stages of the race, but Engberink made his car as wide as possible and brought 1st place to the line. Lutz had to settle for 2nd, his best result of a so far bit disappointing season. Wolf took 3rd, while he wasn't that far off the leading duo, he never could get in a position to challenge them. Laad finished 4th, now sitting 6 points behind Engberink in the championship. Utzer took 5th place, he arrived a bit late for the start since he was also competing in a rally near Köln. Keranen finished 6th and last, expecting to be racing on the new track layout he was running a setup with way too little topspeed for the long straights, which he couldn't make up by being the by far fastest in the Motodrom.
