BARTHEZ REJOINS CHAMPIONSHIP LEAD WITH WIN
View attachment 376709

Fabien Barthez took his first win of the season since Argentina with a dominant drive in Germany. He stormed up the pack from 8th on the grid to turn around a recent slump in form and passed his competition to win by 23 seconds. He was joined on the podium by his nearest championship challengers though, meaning Verstappen leads the driver's championship on countback by number of second places, with Button just 7 points back. Chris Hoy was the only other driver from the top 3 teams to have a clean race, with his 4th place allowing DTK Racing to reclaim the Constructors championship lead. Late race drama thwarted Nyck de Vries after a front wing change, and Martin Brundle became a rolling chicane late in the race. Having lost his front wing on a backmarker, Brundle pitted to replace it, but lost the new one in the pitlane after an unsafe release by Falcon Motorsport's Alain Prost. He decided not to change the wing, keeping a spot in the points for many laps, before a long line of cars trying to unlap themselves queued up behind him. This exacerbated itself massively on lap 42, when Brundle got confused by the Kas Racing cars trying to unlap themselves and stopped on track, causing a roadblock. Rossi, Alonso, Clark and de Vries had to push their way through the mess before it all got going again, but drivers found the "train of pain" a nightmare to lap as Brundle still held up a load of drivers.

Interviews
@Jimlaad43 @Lesley Buurlage @Millsy24, three races to go and the championships are all super-close. What do you think will be the deciding factor as we head towards the end?
@Márk Lintner congratulations on finally making the top 10! Do you think you can get into the top 10 in the championship soon?
@Aidan Keranen 2KF1 Racing have been slowly sliding down the grid recently. What needs to be done to solve this?
@kevintaddo10 how do you think the team did on their debut?
Yes we will try to attack 9th place at team championship, but we need to upgrade the car more

VERSTAPPEN STORMS TO POLE

Championship leader Max Verstappen dominated qualifying to take pole by over half a second ahead of Jenson Button. Barthez was the out-of-place Championship contender in 6th. 2KF1 bounced back with a 10th and 15th place in qualifying, as Hightech also qualified high. Brand new team Polestar Performance put in a strong debut in 18th and 23rd, as Bad Rain also moved up the grid. Gilles Villeneuve seems out of place in 27th place, watch his progress in the race.

What a disappointing race after that promising qualifying result. Thanks a lot Massa!:mad::mad:

Frentzen was innocent at that lapping incident with Button imo. Also Button should de-activate his invulnerability assist.
