Thanks - glad you like them.

I'm working on Battenbergring at the moment (when I get time). It was pretty much finished except for the vegetation, but I decided to completely rework the village of Holzhausen that you drive through in the first part of the lap.

As there are very few photos from the 1950s I decided to just line the road that runs through the village with stone walls, with houses behind, but this has always felt like a bit of a cheat, to me. There's no Streetview for this part of Germany ( ) so I have decided to work off modern aerial photos of the current buildings, adding all of the lawns, drives, gardens, sheds, walls and fences that I can make out.

It's a bit more work but hopefully should provide a more immersive environment to drive through when it's complete.

I also have Solitude on the back burner. I tend to switch between a few projects, just to keep myself motivated. If all goes well, Battenbergring should be done by Christmas :)
Thanks for the reply. Was great 'hearing' from you directly on the RD podcast this month as well, very insightful.

Found your Youtube channel which is a sneak peek into Battenbergring, which looks a great addition to your releases.

First off, THANK YOU for this wonderful track. I just found out the other day I don't have pinecones on the track like others do. I just drag and drop into CM. I have done a clean reinstall and still the same. Have I missed something?

Probably it's the situation pointed in this post: csp is configured to remove spectators on practice sessions, so other camera facing stuff like 2d pine cones won't show.

Please try with csp set this way ("adjust mount of spectators" unchecked):

The above tweak should also give you back not only debris, leafs and pinecones on this and other Fat-Alfie's tracks under practice sessions, but also spectating horses and cows on a few :) (Fonteny and Deutschlandring come to mind).

We had a league race yesterday and Bremgarten was a blast to drive. Thanks Fat-Alfie for your amazing work. The details on this track are absolutely stunning.

Is there a way to get rid of the pinecones without also removing the spectators and other stuff? I really dislike them, and in some places it looks more like there are fist sized rocks on track.

Seems like every other race I notice a little detail I hadn't before - was testing something in chase cam and noticed the fishing boats on the lake!

Can you share a list of "period appropriate" cars?

Technically speaking, I guess it's anything from 1934-1955, such as Kunos' Maserati 250Fs and JeezyCreezy's excellent Jaguar D Type, but personally I think it works great with mid-60s touring and GT cars - to me it's a "what if Le Mans 1955 disaster had never happened" scenario. It's also super fun with nicecuppatea and Fourty-Two's 1920s GP cars.

Stereo's Porsche 912 along with the Ford Escort and Kunos and Pessio's Alfas makes a nice field. So does a mix of Pessio's Minis and Abarths.

And, if you're feeling brave, there's always... this.

With regard to textures / GPU memory allocation? It's quite possible, yes. Fonteny may be quite large but a lot of the landscape is empty space.

The texture folder for Bremgarten is 43mb larger than Fonteny's and it may be that I added more detail to Bremgarten's trackside objects.

As long as it runs okay with decent FPS then I am happy :)

I have no problems with FPS in race mode, all settings are at maximum, 2k resolution, stable 60 frames with vertical sync. but the other day I decided to record a replay, and everything was no longer so good, I had to lower the resolution to full hd. although I have no problem recording replays on Fonteny.
