Assetto Corsa Competizione developers Kunos Simulazioni have today released a new trailer for the upcoming 1.6 update - confirming new content and improvements are set to be released this month.
  • Imola 2020 heading to the sim.
  • Ferrari and Mercedes 2020 EVO update cars.
  • New tyre model for 2020 season.

Yes, the preview image prophecy has come true and Kunos Simulazioni have now confirmed Imola will be heading to the simulation this month, alongside the new Ferrari 488 GT3 EVO 2020, Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo (2020), a new tyre model, tons of 2020 season liveries and plenty more besides... happy days ahead for ACC fans it seems!

A release date has yet to be confirmed for the new build, outside of a November release date - so stay tuned in the coming days and weeks for more information as and when it becomes available.

Assetto Corsa Competizione is available now on both PC and console.

anyone else find this sim to be just sort of lifeless and dull? I get that it's technically precise as hell, almost like a sim racing version of DCS, but there is no sense of speed, zero worldbuilding (i.e. nothing about it screams "Blancpain" in the way that the Codemasters F1 sims ooze F1's character) and the transition between mechanical and aero grip in the cars is awkward at best. The tire model, while fully faithful to Blancpain's Pirelli tire no doubt, just sucks to drive - the transition between grip and ass over end into the barriers is instantaneous and the tires allow for almost no slip angle before control departure. Again, I appreciate the technical precision of this sim and everything has Kunos has put into it, and I own the DLC, but every time I drive it, I don't find myself *enjoying* the drive.

The GT3 cars in AMS2, while still a little raw, have more panache and, well, life to them. All IMO

+10. Best description of ACC's twitchy driving model yet.
I just use ACC for training.

It would be much more fun with more grip + transition (make it optional if you have to) and faster "jump in and race" options like AMS2 has (including standing starts, who cares if they don't do them in real life it's a game ffs).

GT3 and GT4 in Ams2 is a joke, no TC or ABS, What happened with real GT cars? I think Reiza never seen a GT3, ACC is a million light years away more real and every car has its own phisycs but i agree with having more different starts, like opposite grid or standing starts

I'm most looking forward to seeing the 'improved' AI and tyre model. AI is useful for practice, even if you your main lure is multiplayer. Without a good AI, there is no possibility of trying out new approaches to racing without a potential penalty and real reactions from the cars around you.
It would be good if fixed interval TC and ABS was replaced with percentages for those cars which have that system in real life.

Awesome, im very excited about this new patch fixing the whole VR stinking pile of bits, never understood how is posible this kind of crappy performance and even crappier graphics in VR compared to AC, even Rfactor 2 VR graphics shine compared to ACC VR ones ( and im not gonna talk about physics... cos...). With this and the new upcoming release of the patch allowing custom mods and modding tools i can move from AC to ACC as main sim.

Hey what? this is just a circuit and some cars dlc? again? are you kidding?, come one guys, fix the game or kill it sooner as posible and move onto AC2 ( with a polished performance please), probably the numbers you have are more precise than the ones in steamdb, but twice the concurrent players in AC than in ACC, and about 2 million buyers in AC and around 500k ( being optimistic) in ACC mean something...:devilish:

Regards.

Well, first of all they announced ACC 1.6 (free update) with developments in the AI, physics, weather, and also UI and performance improvements. So not sure what you're ranting about. It's ACC 1.6 for free + a paid DLC (1 track + all 2020 teams with liveries and BoP and 2020 tires + 2 new cars) that you can choose to buy or not. Also, ACC has only GT3/GT4. And hey, if you do comparisons then you need to check the whole picture. ACC alone has around the same number of concurrent players of Raceroom+rFactor2+Automobilista2+Project Cars 2 combined. If ACC deserves to be "killed", as you say, you should send the same advice to them, too.
