Assetto Corsa Competizione | American Track Pack DLC Released

Kunos has released a new DLC featuring three American tracks for Assetto Corsa Competizione on PC, plus GTWCA liveries for many of the cars.

A new DLC for Assetto Corsa Competizione based on the GT World Challenge America race series will be released imminently to Steam.

Three new tracks are included in the DLC: Circuit of the Americas, Indy, and Watkins Glen. Along with the tracks, Kunos has given players a wide range of new liveries from the 2022 American series to compete with.

COTA - Circuit of the Americas

Circuit of the Americas is a very versatile circuit based in Austin, Texas. Besides being home to GTWC racing in 2021, COTA also hosts NASCAR, MotoGP and Formula 1, and WEC as recently as 2020. Its 3.4 miles and 20 turns are very technically challenging. The elevation change is dramatic at times, and the multiple S-curve complexes rarely afford drivers a moment to catch their breath.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway

The road course at Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a complex and bumpy circuit nested within, and incorporating part of, the famous Indianapolis oval. Whereas the Indy 500 runs counterclockwise over the 2.5 Speedway layout, the Grand Prix course featured here in ACC runs clockwise and features 14 corners. Curbing is dramatic at certain sections, including in turn 1 which is a likely overtaking spot for those that get a good exit out of turn 14 and manage to draft their opponents down the start/finish straight.

Watkins Glen International

Lastly, Watkins Glen is perhaps America’s answer to Spa-Francorchamps. The 3.4-mile, 11-turn lap offers drivers the chance to maximize speed through corners thanks to favorable banking. Corner “flow” is high at Watkins Glen, and in the GT3 cars a good exit out of turn 2 will allow you to carry huge speed as you take the turn 3-4 complex flat out and rush uphill into the inner loop chicane.

Only three American tracks were added as part of this DLC. The 2022 GTWCA series also runs at Sonoma, NOLA, VIR, Road America and Sebring this season, so we can hope for updates or a part 2 of this DLC in the future.

Many in the sim racing community have speculated that this could be the final DLC offered for Assetto Corsa Competizione as the Kunos team shifts its focus to Assetto Corsa 2. The American Track Pack joins the GT4 Pack, Intercontinental GT Pack, 2020 GTWC Pack, British GT Pack and the Challengers Pack as post-release content for ACC.

The American Track Pack is currently only available for PC, though it is expected to be added to console versions in the future.

And what if those calculations are incorrect or change? They are not going to price it for sale at the original amount. Forecasting is only an educated best guess but never precise.
Of course these costs can be incorrect upfront and can change. I never said that it will be precise in the end. That's the risk of doing business. But that doesn't change their chosen sale price.

I think it would have some bearing on it. If their costs are higher they wont necessarily keep the sales price the same, that makes no sense to do that. Sales prices may be estimated up front as well but are subject to change just like costs are. In fact sales prices are often dictated by costs, not just production / manufacturing / cost of sales / variable costs but also fixed / operating costs.

Cota is a great to get right and looks just as good, Watkins always been a fan of, as for Indy certainly is on the lower half my list, but it does have its challenges to drive, the only thing about Indy is every version that has been made over the years for sims never looks good they just don't the wow factor always seems tohave this very plain look and feel and graphically always seems a step backwards, maybe that is how it is in real life.

The only ACC DLC that I won't buy. I love ACC but this is a pack of few random tracks to make cash...If they make a complete US GT pack I may change my mind. For now I will save for AC2...Also those are already available in AC for years...

i think this comes from the fact that it is indeed just a completely flat infield track.
those are never exciting to look at and more often than not also not very exciting to drive.

Are you referring to this track pack? Or some future track pack? Cuz it is NOT in the current new package. If they were going to include Sebring, they would have announced or teased Sebring. Since they did neither...
perzacketly... nothing on offer in the current pack worth dropping $$ on.. ill wait for the next 75% off sale before updating.

i am a bit surprised that this update did not bring the game to version 1.9, i would have expected maybe also a bit more "under the hood", but ok :)

Not even surprised if this is the last dlc for the game. It’s a shame as this game could have been so good with complete series.

Still want mustang and Supra GT4.
Don't think Kunos officially stated that they will cease with ACC once AC2 gets launched... assumptions? :) I hope they keep it going tbh.

It's still at least 2 years until AC2 gets released, in whatever state that would be. Plenty of time.

Just had the time to try Indianapolis last night. It was quite addictive, it reminds me of Misano but I definitely prefer Indy over Misano for the great historic location, the grandstands, the pagoda etc. My impression is that Indianapolis is a good track for racing, maybe not great as a "driver's" track but great for racing against others.

All is as expected.

Watkins is fine, has the expected nice flow which this track is so famous for.

Indy is the streetcourse in the infield only, and it is boring as expected. Oval infields I always find boring. The laserscanning however mercilessly exposes how extremely bumpy that track is, I never saw that in other versions of this in other sims.

And the Texas track, well, I HATE it. It breaks every flow, has brutal elevation changes just before turns so that you spin due to the car still being light, the sequence of turns is completely anti-intuitive, I just hate this track. For those wanting a challenge however it may be paradise, it is an extremely technical track and I find it extremely difficult to drive and worse to master. Very difficult, I must first sit and think to find another track that gives me comparable big problems. Well, its Texas. Home of rodeo riding on rocking bulls. Thats how this track is. Not my taste.

So, I am in only for Watkins in this DLC. Technically, Kunos has done a great job once again.

To be fair i think the Daytona infield layout is not bad for an infield track. The first corner after start/finish straight is really challenging to get right, that heavy braking while having to take the left that gets tighter and tighter and i think turn number 4 that fast almost full throttle left is cool as well as the chicane before you continue to the start/finish line. But i definitely aggree about Indy, its quite meh. If at least the GTWC would not run that last micky mouse chicane and would give the whole banked corner into the start-finish straight like the F1 cars used to run back in the 00's

The F1 driver's were too scared of that one corner, Even now, Mad Max has stated he would never drive Indy. (4 flat out cornersx200!!! The Horror!)

I am impressed in how ACC's renditions of Watkins and Indy feel so alive, even when running a single car practice. The roughness of the surface, and the way the curbs feel as if they have some height to them (because they do) just makes the track more immersive than the glass smooth versions I encountered in Raceroom. It's a shame that ACC is limited to only one layout of the tracks in the sim. I'd love to run the other configurations of both.

COTA is going to take some getting use to. I have to get better at the track. A lot of the turns were surprises in my limited playtime. So I can't rely on what Forza taught me about the course. In ACC, I actually have to turn the steering wheel in order to make the turns... Whodathunkit? But I like it. Racing here is going to be good.

The way the car bounced around on Indy, has me seriously wanting Sebring in ACC. Also, the last chicane on Indy isn't a royal pain in the butt, like it is in Forza. I don't know why that turn is so difficult to prepare for. I thought it would be the same in ACC, in fact, I didn't realize it was on the track map before my test session, so the turn was a complete surprise. But I didn't careen straight into the wall. I was able to slow the car and confidently negotiate the turn. Imagine having brakes that work? I know, strange concept.

The Glen was like visiting an old friend. I knew exactly where to brake, what gear to be in, when to turn in, where the apexes were, where to look, and what to look for. The issue was dealing with a more accurate surface and curbs and also the car's quirks. That and I can easily get into the groove with this version. The sim kept me wanting to do one more lap, even though my time was limited.

Overall, the tracks offer something I didn't find in any sim/game where these courses are present. Be that a bumpy and raced on feel, or the most accurate renditions (at the moment), the trio doesn't feel like a waste of money to me. Looks like ACC will be getting more seat time from me.

Disappointing Track Pack but Glen is worth to buy it. Our first community race yesterday was a blast. 60mins of fun. Go and support Kunos for giving us 2 of the best sims ever made ;)

A bit torn on this one at the moment; ACC is a great game and its content is of the highest quality, but I continue to be frustrated by my inability to customise the SP experience, at least just the ability to curate a grid of AI cars/liveries/drivers that I want to race against.

It might sound trivial, but it's such an immersion breaker for me and it's stopped me putting in big time into the game, however much it improves. And with two of these tracks in the pack being very unappealing to boot, I'm going to have to wait on this one I think.
