Assetto Corsa Competizione | American Track Pack DLC Released

Kunos has released a new DLC featuring three American tracks for Assetto Corsa Competizione on PC, plus GTWCA liveries for many of the cars.

A new DLC for Assetto Corsa Competizione based on the GT World Challenge America race series will be released imminently to Steam.

Three new tracks are included in the DLC: Circuit of the Americas, Indy, and Watkins Glen. Along with the tracks, Kunos has given players a wide range of new liveries from the 2022 American series to compete with.

COTA - Circuit of the Americas

Circuit of the Americas is a very versatile circuit based in Austin, Texas. Besides being home to GTWC racing in 2021, COTA also hosts NASCAR, MotoGP and Formula 1, and WEC as recently as 2020. Its 3.4 miles and 20 turns are very technically challenging. The elevation change is dramatic at times, and the multiple S-curve complexes rarely afford drivers a moment to catch their breath.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway

The road course at Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a complex and bumpy circuit nested within, and incorporating part of, the famous Indianapolis oval. Whereas the Indy 500 runs counterclockwise over the 2.5 Speedway layout, the Grand Prix course featured here in ACC runs clockwise and features 14 corners. Curbing is dramatic at certain sections, including in turn 1 which is a likely overtaking spot for those that get a good exit out of turn 14 and manage to draft their opponents down the start/finish straight.

Watkins Glen International

Lastly, Watkins Glen is perhaps America’s answer to Spa-Francorchamps. The 3.4-mile, 11-turn lap offers drivers the chance to maximize speed through corners thanks to favorable banking. Corner “flow” is high at Watkins Glen, and in the GT3 cars a good exit out of turn 2 will allow you to carry huge speed as you take the turn 3-4 complex flat out and rush uphill into the inner loop chicane.

Only three American tracks were added as part of this DLC. The 2022 GTWCA series also runs at Sonoma, NOLA, VIR, Road America and Sebring this season, so we can hope for updates or a part 2 of this DLC in the future.

Many in the sim racing community have speculated that this could be the final DLC offered for Assetto Corsa Competizione as the Kunos team shifts its focus to Assetto Corsa 2. The American Track Pack joins the GT4 Pack, Intercontinental GT Pack, 2020 GTWC Pack, British GT Pack and the Challengers Pack as post-release content for ACC.

The American Track Pack is currently only available for PC, though it is expected to be added to console versions in the future.

if they bring Sebring, and its even half as good as RF2 Sebring, I'll buy that pack.
Are you referring to this track pack? Or some future track pack? Cuz it is NOT in the current new package. If they were going to include Sebring, they would have announced or teased Sebring. Since they did neither...

3 British tracks cost $13.
3 American tracks cost $18.

I don't understand the logic behind this.

And the worst part is they don't even have the GOOD American tracks in here. No Sebring and no VIR. If Sebring was there instead of the less than stellar COTA I might actually consider spending the extra $5.

I just don't understand!

It is the same amount of tracks but not the same tracks.
They price their tracks accounting for the time spent building them and, especially, the amount they paid to license the tracks

No that's not how a business works. They price their track based on what the market wants to pay for them/what gives the most profit in the end. It's that simple. They make a calculation upfront on the hours and licensing costs to see if it's profitable.

He said: if they bring Sebring, and its even half as good as RF2 Sebring, I'll buy that pack.

He means that IF it's made in the future then he would buy the pack that includes Sebring(so that's a different/new to made DLC, it's a future wish). That's at least what I understand from it.

And I agree that Sebring is one of the greatest tracks ever. I'm still hoping that USA part 4 of AMS2 will include Sebring and I hope the same for ACC and I will buy both if ACC works one day good in VR too.

Underwhelmed. Might pick it up on a sale later on.

I just downloaded upgrade and sure enough it crashed . Seem's like ACC did not like m,y comment (Just kidding. Hopefully they will update and fix this bug)

I can't say the price is excessive, it's not bad, but comparing it to the cost of previous packs that had 3 British tracks and the one that had 4 World tracks, there is an increase in cost. Enough for me to hold off and wait for a sale.
I found this deal... but I'm going to wait until the DLC will reach the 9,99€ (if it won't get as cheap, eventually I will buy it at the best price)

I'm happy ACC is getting any new circuit, if it was just an oval, I'd still gladly plop down the 17$. This'll tide me over till my pre-ordered F1 22 releases in the morning. I just want to race, doesn't matter where.

As I gaze at my CSL DD (which doesn't keep me from binning it,) my 8nm power pack (which doesn't keep me from binning it,) my alcantara-wrapped and button-adonred wheel (which doesn't keep me from binning it) and my shipping tracker for my load cell pedals (which won't keep me from binning it,) I have trouble mustering the anger at the USA pack costing $5 more than the British pack.

I agree, it's a bit expensive. I did buy it because I really like The Glen and COTA, and the tracks in ACC are really excellent.

Indy I could have done without. I'm still disappointed that Road America and Sebring are not in the pack. I understand there are issues about licensing, etc. But it is the first track pack in a while and it is a bit underwhelming.

3 laserscanned official content tracks for 18 euros is a complete steal in anyones book, I’d pay that just for Cota, Also I highly doubt AMS2 the free tracks they provided was scanned, but either way let’s say the development to scan each track was 25k each then let’s say the license for each track was 50k each + artists to build them and any hidden additional costs if you do the maths correctly then work out steam charges, tax, vat you are talking 3/400k in development costs they need to sell then over 100k+ downloads to even break even there making nothing from it apart from owning the sssets to license us again later inside AC2,

I’ll buy it just to sport Kunos and there ventures.

Just played the 3 tracks. They look stunning. First time on Indy road and can't say I like it. Yet. Did a race on the Glen, that was great. And a few laps on COTA, which I hardly know as well, but left me eager for more. Good fun with this DLC :)
I don't like the Indy GP track as its so flat, but interestingly I have had some really great races on it in Raceroom and RF2. It may grow on you.

So true.
If we want the other US circuits then this DLC is something of a litmus test.
So all the naysayers who pass on this package might well be a reason for KUNOS to avoid any further US circuits. As for the constant mutterings re the Nurburgring and non franchised tracks, if they are not part of the licensing agreement they are not part of the sim.

And what if those calculations are incorrect or change? They are not going to price it for sale at the original amount. Forecasting is only an educated best guess but never precise.
