Assetto Corsa Competizione | American Track Pack DLC Released

Kunos has released a new DLC featuring three American tracks for Assetto Corsa Competizione on PC, plus GTWCA liveries for many of the cars.

A new DLC for Assetto Corsa Competizione based on the GT World Challenge America race series will be released imminently to Steam.

Three new tracks are included in the DLC: Circuit of the Americas, Indy, and Watkins Glen. Along with the tracks, Kunos has given players a wide range of new liveries from the 2022 American series to compete with.

COTA - Circuit of the Americas

Circuit of the Americas is a very versatile circuit based in Austin, Texas. Besides being home to GTWC racing in 2021, COTA also hosts NASCAR, MotoGP and Formula 1, and WEC as recently as 2020. Its 3.4 miles and 20 turns are very technically challenging. The elevation change is dramatic at times, and the multiple S-curve complexes rarely afford drivers a moment to catch their breath.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway

The road course at Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a complex and bumpy circuit nested within, and incorporating part of, the famous Indianapolis oval. Whereas the Indy 500 runs counterclockwise over the 2.5 Speedway layout, the Grand Prix course featured here in ACC runs clockwise and features 14 corners. Curbing is dramatic at certain sections, including in turn 1 which is a likely overtaking spot for those that get a good exit out of turn 14 and manage to draft their opponents down the start/finish straight.

Watkins Glen International

Lastly, Watkins Glen is perhaps America’s answer to Spa-Francorchamps. The 3.4-mile, 11-turn lap offers drivers the chance to maximize speed through corners thanks to favorable banking. Corner “flow” is high at Watkins Glen, and in the GT3 cars a good exit out of turn 2 will allow you to carry huge speed as you take the turn 3-4 complex flat out and rush uphill into the inner loop chicane.

Only three American tracks were added as part of this DLC. The 2022 GTWCA series also runs at Sonoma, NOLA, VIR, Road America and Sebring this season, so we can hope for updates or a part 2 of this DLC in the future.

Many in the sim racing community have speculated that this could be the final DLC offered for Assetto Corsa Competizione as the Kunos team shifts its focus to Assetto Corsa 2. The American Track Pack joins the GT4 Pack, Intercontinental GT Pack, 2020 GTWC Pack, British GT Pack and the Challengers Pack as post-release content for ACC.

The American Track Pack is currently only available for PC, though it is expected to be added to console versions in the future.

Will be picking up ACC on the Steam Sale along with the GT4, ICGT, and British GT packs, but not this USA pack. Watkins, COTA, and Indy GP are easily my three least favourite American road circuits, so it's just not interesting to me.

If those tracks came in a part 2 DLC, I'd strongly consider picking them up! Love me some VIR and Sebring, especially :) Really hope a part 2 is coming.

What I think misses the mark about this USA pack is the lack of completeness. IMO one of ACC's main selling points (especially for me) has been simulating at least one ENTIRE year of a series – be it GTWC, ICGT, or British GT – with all the tracks and most (if not all) of the cars and paint schemes of that season. Like GTR2 and RACE 07 did back in the day. This USA pack breaks that tradition, and IMO it's an unfortunate choice. Even if tracks like NOLA, Watkins, COTA, and Indy GP are not my favourite, for the sake of being able to simulate racing the full GTWC America season, if a full trackpack were to be available, I'd strongly consider picking it up.

If I understood tue devs of ACC correctly, then it's still a licencing issue with other tracks, that take more time in certain cases.

So we probably have the "choice" if we get a track pack "part" 1 with all the tracks that are finished and available now or if we want all tracks from the american championship maybe in 1 year or so.

And in that case, I'll gladly take the first three (that aren't too bad anyway). :)

That's great news, if so. :) Have they officially publicly confirmed the full season USA trackpack is for sure coming in the future? I hadn't thought so, but maybe they have... I'm unsure.

I think the Corona thing is the main problem with that. I remember one of Aris' stream shortly after the 2021 Season update released, where he said they couldn't get Magny-Cours because there were travel restrictions in place at the time. Might be the same thing here, maybe.

I'll also pass on this DLC as it is. I don't care much for Indianapolis and I actively dislike COTA, but should there ever be a Part 2 with the rest of the NA tracks, I'll most likely buy both DLCs to be able to runa full season.

From what I heard in the videos and interviews from the devs, they always stay a bit "secretive" on which tracks will come, but they said a few times, that they're working on more.

On one hand, I have a (very) limited interest in those 3 tracks, so spending money in them is not particularly appealing to me.
But on the other hand, Kunos has demonstrated in ACC, that they can provide what I see as the best tracks in all of the SIM’s, so I am still tempted.
If they had been in a pack with tracks I am interested in, like Sebring, VIR and RA, the decision would have been easier.

Not even surprised if this is the last dlc for the game. It’s a shame as this game could have been so good with complete series.

Still want mustang and Supra GT4.

Love the tracks but i don't understand the decision to place the 2022 gtwceu liveries under open series, rather than a seperate tab like previous years, the American liveries not having a seperate tab i get since there are a few missing ones, but according to the patch notes the full eu grid should be in or am i wrong here?

Glad to hear there may be a part two with the rest of the tracks. Still undecided whether I want to pick this up for only three tracks on the calendar.

The Glen!
I will always have a soft spot for that track. I used the short version as my main trainer when starting out in Sim Racing. Probably have done over 1,000 laps on that track. Most games have it, so it was my go to for getting used to the new game's engine and how it behaves.

I didn't like COTA due to the racing title where I encountered the track, got in the way and made the experience all kinds of terrible. I'm looking forward to running it with a good set of physics, proper FOV and competent FFB. The track seemed to have potential, just not on a poor excuse of a racing title claiming to be a simulation.
