Assetto Corsa Competizione | American Track Pack DLC Released

Kunos has released a new DLC featuring three American tracks for Assetto Corsa Competizione on PC, plus GTWCA liveries for many of the cars.

A new DLC for Assetto Corsa Competizione based on the GT World Challenge America race series will be released imminently to Steam.

Three new tracks are included in the DLC: Circuit of the Americas, Indy, and Watkins Glen. Along with the tracks, Kunos has given players a wide range of new liveries from the 2022 American series to compete with.

COTA - Circuit of the Americas

Circuit of the Americas is a very versatile circuit based in Austin, Texas. Besides being home to GTWC racing in 2021, COTA also hosts NASCAR, MotoGP and Formula 1, and WEC as recently as 2020. Its 3.4 miles and 20 turns are very technically challenging. The elevation change is dramatic at times, and the multiple S-curve complexes rarely afford drivers a moment to catch their breath.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway

The road course at Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a complex and bumpy circuit nested within, and incorporating part of, the famous Indianapolis oval. Whereas the Indy 500 runs counterclockwise over the 2.5 Speedway layout, the Grand Prix course featured here in ACC runs clockwise and features 14 corners. Curbing is dramatic at certain sections, including in turn 1 which is a likely overtaking spot for those that get a good exit out of turn 14 and manage to draft their opponents down the start/finish straight.

Watkins Glen International

Lastly, Watkins Glen is perhaps America’s answer to Spa-Francorchamps. The 3.4-mile, 11-turn lap offers drivers the chance to maximize speed through corners thanks to favorable banking. Corner “flow” is high at Watkins Glen, and in the GT3 cars a good exit out of turn 2 will allow you to carry huge speed as you take the turn 3-4 complex flat out and rush uphill into the inner loop chicane.

Only three American tracks were added as part of this DLC. The 2022 GTWCA series also runs at Sonoma, NOLA, VIR, Road America and Sebring this season, so we can hope for updates or a part 2 of this DLC in the future.

Many in the sim racing community have speculated that this could be the final DLC offered for Assetto Corsa Competizione as the Kunos team shifts its focus to Assetto Corsa 2. The American Track Pack joins the GT4 Pack, Intercontinental GT Pack, 2020 GTWC Pack, British GT Pack and the Challengers Pack as post-release content for ACC.

The American Track Pack is currently only available for PC, though it is expected to be added to console versions in the future.

I can see your point, Rodger, it's simply annoying to run against a field of GT3 cars where the same car/driver appears twice, sometimes even three times. Should be super easy to avoid even without full control over one's own handpicked grid.

For me an istant buy (I love Watkins Glen and i like also COTA and Indianapolis) and i hope more American tracks like VIR and Sebring will arrive in the future

Tell me where I am off base, but I do not think that $18 USD it expensive for three tracks. At $6 each I think it is a fair price, much cheaper than iRacing pricing. It costs me a little more since I will never race COTA, even so, at my purchase price of $9 each I am considering it a value.

I would pay $18 USD for Sebring all by itself. For the amount of entertainment hours I get, (verses going to a movie theater to see Top Gun for $16), the cost is an economical no brainer for myself.

All is as expected.

Watkins is fine, has the expected nice flow which this track is so famous for.

Indy is the streetcourse in the infield only, and it is boring as expected. Oval infields I always find boring. The laserscanning however mercilessly exposes how extremely bumpy that track is, I never saw that in other versions of this in other sims.

And the Texas track, well, I HATE it. It breaks every flow, has brutal elevation changes just before turns so that you spin due to the car still being light, the sequence of turns is completely anti-intuitive, I just hate this track. For those wanting a challenge however it may be paradise, it is an extremely technical track and I find it extremely difficult to drive and worse to master. Very difficult, I must first sit and think to find another track that gives me comparable big problems. Well, its Texas. Home of rodeo riding on rocking bulls. Thats how this track is. Not my taste.

So, I am in only for Watkins in this DLC. Technically, Kunos has done a great job once again.

Even a fake Texas is no place I want to spend my time.

If you really want to save some money for future track pack purchases, skip Top Gun: Maverick and dig up a Mid '60s Brit WWII movie called 633 Squadron. (one might think Tom will have to pay them for the plot outline)

a little disappointed only liveries for open series and no dedicated n.a. championship or the ability to really edit entries for offline championships, but..
kunos quality seeps through all 3 circuits and i have to say racing the indy road course is really challenging, in a good addictive bumpy/track limits kindof way.
modified my coach dave misano and hungary 911 setups enough to stay in touch with the audi brigade in a 4hr day to night enduro.. that pitlane is neverending and reentry is a little awkward - happy with 6th
