Assetto Corsa Competizione | American Track Pack DLC Released

Kunos has released a new DLC featuring three American tracks for Assetto Corsa Competizione on PC, plus GTWCA liveries for many of the cars.

A new DLC for Assetto Corsa Competizione based on the GT World Challenge America race series will be released imminently to Steam.

Three new tracks are included in the DLC: Circuit of the Americas, Indy, and Watkins Glen. Along with the tracks, Kunos has given players a wide range of new liveries from the 2022 American series to compete with.

COTA - Circuit of the Americas

Circuit of the Americas is a very versatile circuit based in Austin, Texas. Besides being home to GTWC racing in 2021, COTA also hosts NASCAR, MotoGP and Formula 1, and WEC as recently as 2020. Its 3.4 miles and 20 turns are very technically challenging. The elevation change is dramatic at times, and the multiple S-curve complexes rarely afford drivers a moment to catch their breath.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway

The road course at Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a complex and bumpy circuit nested within, and incorporating part of, the famous Indianapolis oval. Whereas the Indy 500 runs counterclockwise over the 2.5 Speedway layout, the Grand Prix course featured here in ACC runs clockwise and features 14 corners. Curbing is dramatic at certain sections, including in turn 1 which is a likely overtaking spot for those that get a good exit out of turn 14 and manage to draft their opponents down the start/finish straight.

Watkins Glen International

Lastly, Watkins Glen is perhaps America’s answer to Spa-Francorchamps. The 3.4-mile, 11-turn lap offers drivers the chance to maximize speed through corners thanks to favorable banking. Corner “flow” is high at Watkins Glen, and in the GT3 cars a good exit out of turn 2 will allow you to carry huge speed as you take the turn 3-4 complex flat out and rush uphill into the inner loop chicane.

Only three American tracks were added as part of this DLC. The 2022 GTWCA series also runs at Sonoma, NOLA, VIR, Road America and Sebring this season, so we can hope for updates or a part 2 of this DLC in the future.

Many in the sim racing community have speculated that this could be the final DLC offered for Assetto Corsa Competizione as the Kunos team shifts its focus to Assetto Corsa 2. The American Track Pack joins the GT4 Pack, Intercontinental GT Pack, 2020 GTWC Pack, British GT Pack and the Challengers Pack as post-release content for ACC.

The American Track Pack is currently only available for PC, though it is expected to be added to console versions in the future.

COTA isn't even on this year's roster while Road America, the one track that has featured every year so far from 2016 to 2022, is missing.
On top of that, the price per track has been jacked up significantly compared to the Intercontinental GT DLC.
IGTP: 4 tracks for €14.99 = €3.75 per track (-60% Steam sale discount = €1.45 p/t)
ATP: 3 tracks for €17.99 = €6 per track

Guess I'll take a pass on this one, €18 for one circuit of personal interest (WG) is a bit steep for me.

I guess I'm the opposite of most people in that I think COTA is a pretty fun track, and have never understood the love for Sebring outside of historical aspects, but hey everyone likes different things! My big disappointment is not having Road America and VIR, but maybe they'll come later.

Instant purchase for me, even if i have been surprised with the higher price this time.
But i can not even consider missing new tracks for ACC.
Kunos has proved to deliver the best tracks of the all simulation market. (In my opinion of course)

DLCs for ACC have been decent until now, but the only track I care about in this pack is Watkins. Will probably buy anyway to support the devs though.

The thing I'm most excited about is that this is the first time we're having a very high quality representation of COTA and in what is imo the best single player sim out there.
Can only hope for Road America and Sebring next

Just played the 3 tracks. They look stunning. First time on Indy road and can't say I like it. Yet. Did a race on the Glen, that was great. And a few laps on COTA, which I hardly know as well, but left me eager for more. Good fun with this DLC :)

well, iRacing has COTA and (which is really brilliant) a couple of the many layouts possible (maybe all? dunno). Especially the shorter layouts are super for less high-powered cars, e.g. that BMW from the last ACC DLC.
Insta buy for me, any new track in this great game is more than welcome. I think all the negative comments here do have a point, but for me the positives outweigh them easily.

Watkins Glen is the only one i like of the three tracks
Im probably waiting for some sales to buy it (i wouldn't wait if there was Road America, Sebring for exemple)
Still, the content looks top quality as always with Kunos :inlove: they always deliver and thats the most important thing for me.
If i wasn't closely looking at my wallet, i would buy it straight away to support the studio

Ah good point. I always forget iRacing 'cause I don't do multiplayer nor have interest in their business model
I didn't go through every comment but I think complaints are about the missing American tracks? Well, we would all like more tracks but I'm sure it's a lot of work and money.......hopefully this isn't the end and we get the rest in the future.

AMS 2 gave us 3 free tracks
I would have wanted to pay for those 3 tracks too but I will skip this ACC DLC, it's the first ACC DLC that I don't buy. The VR performance is just to bad to keep playing the game. Maybe once the 4090/80 is released I will buy it because the game itself is okay(but I still hope that Kunos can get the cars to feel more alive/less artificial, AMS2 feels more real/alive).

Missed a trick here, licensing prob limited them releasing Sebring, Road America etc.
None of these tracks interests me, so no buy.

I hope Kunos aren't washing their hands of ACC after this DLC. I feel this game still has plenty to offer. It's the go-to GT3/GT4 sim for many people.
But at the same time you don't want AC2 to be a fiasco at release date. Experience's proven that 1 year is never enough to build a sim from the ground up.

Watkins Glen for me is worth the price of admission alone. I've never had much to say about Indy and COTA just doesn't feel right for me, though you can have good racing there. But Glen is a blast. Yes, Road America would have been nice, but it is what it is. ACC is my favorite sim bar none and selfishly I'd like Kunos to keep pumping out content, but at this point I'm not sure what else they can realistically shove in there. In a fantasy world they'd have a DTM license, but that's picking nits. I'm a happy camper.

I can't say the price is excessive, it's not bad, but comparing it to the cost of previous packs that had 3 British tracks and the one that had 4 World tracks, there is an increase in cost. Enough for me to hold off and wait for a sale.
