RENNSPORT to Host Summit Event to Debut New Racing Simulator

A new simulation title from RENNSPORT will be debuted to the world at a summit event this weekend, with 100 personalities from the world of sim racing in attendance.

When RENNSPORT announced its plans to release a racing simulator earlier this year, there was understandably some scepticism from the sim community. But the project has progressed to the point where the developer is ready to showcase an early build to the world.

100 sim racing personalities from around the world have been invited to a summit event RENNSPORT is hosting. The event will take place over three days from the 27th of May to the 29th. Attendees will be able to learn more about the title directly from the developers, and will be given the opportunity to race a pre-release version the first time before sharing their impressions with the public.

A follow-up tweet from the RENNSPORT team asked Twitter if they should share gameplay footage in advance of the event, which of course garnered a positive response.

To date, very little has been shared about the upcoming title. A few stylish renders of Porsche and BMW GT3 cars in showroom mode, plus a few action shots at Hockenheim with the same cars.

Multiple members of the RaceDepartment team, including myself, will be attending the event. Be sure to check back often for news from the RENNSPORT summit and follow our Twitter and Instagram closely over the course of this weekend.

Are there specific facets of the title that you want to learn more about? Let us know in the comments below what information you're hoping to learn from the event, and we will try to incorporate it into our coverage of the event through future articles. For questions and discussions regarding the title please check out the RENNSPORT forum.

Interesting news, new sim is always interesting, but also always suspicious.

On the side note, I wonder for how much more years critical mass of smracers will be interested ONLY in GT3 cars. Or is it just happy medium for everybody, and no one ever really did prefer those cars over every other type ?
We should get a historic racing sim. I mean AC basically covers that with mods but it would be nice for something more professional with proper servers and career modes

Gameplay looks pretty good.

The NFT concept can be okay if applied right. We have all bought DLC for racing sims that we never ended up driving for one reason or another. Maybe the physics were crap or maybe we were an American who bought a V8 Supercar and discovered there was nobody in our timeslot to race with. If there was a way to sell some of my unused cars on iRacing to others, this wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

I don't understand the irritability towards *another* GT3 sim.

Devs have tried and tried to roll out new and interesting content in the current crop of sims. You haven't bought it.

The Dallara IR01, V8 Supercar, and Stock Car BR's are the least popular cars on iRacing. The Lotus 49 and 79 don't fare much better. Just 1% of pCars 2 owners completed the IndyCar championship in career mode. Whenever we run a Group C league on Assetto Corsa, there's a massive drop-off in participation from race one to race three. I did a Ferrari F2004 league last month where just six people ran all the races.

By comparison, what constantly fills up lobbies? GT3.
The problem is Iracing Lotis 49 and 79 driving on new Tilke tracks it will never be popular the same story for Raceroom old Gt cars and Touring cars..on the new laser tracks today

Short version: Vintage cars belong to Vintage tracks

Wow! So this thing wasn't fake... Not bad looking visuals, rather decent for now. And
good engine sound, indeed. The trees look good enough. I'm already in love!

I hope this is not only a GT3 series simulator. We have more than enough with ACC.

Can't wait for the input some of you can bring us here in the next few days. So,
record some videos of this promising thing. Thanks.

But where does it say it's another GT3 sim? What I took back from the original announcement is that the sim is about Esports. Which I draw the conclusion from that the game can contain any car (real life or fantasy) you can hold esports with.

This demo shows two GT3 cars. They could have well picked any real life or fantasy car. It's just a demo showcase.
All we have seen so far in the artwork & the in game footage is GT3 cars so it would be a bit weird to market something new in this way if the content is actually something else like one make tin tops ,single seaters or classic touring cars.

Shorter version: GTL, great popular game, ran fabulous with vintage cars on modern tracks.

Ah okay, so the RACE Series of Simbin were only about the Seat Leon and BMW 320i E46 as those were the cars of the first public demo?

I enjoy the old tracks but however much we dislike fiddly chicanes that are on most tracks they do create better racing.Everyone forgets that races at sweeping fast tracks like old Hockenheim,Silverstone,Interlagos or Zeltweg had the field spread out & close racing was rare.

If I understood correctly, it will not try to replicate any series at all. It's more of a platform than a racing sim. Through a managed marketplace (think App Store or Play Store) people will be able to buy and sell content (cars and tracks). The basic platform will be free.
Closed beta expected this summer, open beta expected spring 2023.

I'm very skeptical and have been since the jump. What little sliver of content we've seen has been GT3 and there's already a market glut there. Their Web site is so full of buzzwords that I smell something fishy. I absolutely want to be wrong and will keep an open mind, but what's going to set this apart?

What you see looks good. but what I really want to know is if it is a game like servivio -so fashionable these days- if so, don't count on me. I agree and join the friends who want a new GTL2, I would buy it as soon as it is announced, although I don't think it will happen.
GTL yes indeed! Also there's been nothing like the Historic GT & Touring Cars mod for RF (original ISI 1st version) or Power & Glory mod for GTR2. These mods where practically a full game that you'd wanna make seperate installs for! The cars from that era were just fantastic to drive! The detail and breadth of content in these awsome mods was simply astonishing!

Yes would be cool to race online for twenty of us worldwide. With half being unhappy due cars being too twitchy and not doing as many g's as modern GT3 cars, due to them driving only that for four years while claimingthey love historic cars plus occasionally mentioning how wish HistoriX would be remade today and not paying attention to any new modders that has something reasonable to say and offer about historics.

What I am tryign to say, is that it won't happen, and it is game over.

Still runs fabulous, well, in GTR2. People are missing a trick with GTR2 - it's not far off Assetto CSP visually and certainly better looking than Assetto native when using the HQ patch - and with Crew Chief, the VR has much better clarity and is far easier to run in a performance sense than modern sims. And the FFB and the weight of the cars (if you set the FFB multi per car correctly and use the right FFB file) is also more convincing if you ask me. I had never raced GTR2 before and have only just got in to it of late and am totally hooked!

"100 sim racing personalities from around the world have been invited ..."

In that case Motorsport Games cannot any longer rely on marketing stunts, talking the talk. They need to walk the walk.

Looking forward to in-depth reviews from a simracing perspective. Since Aris stated the concept 'simcade' does not exist, it will be revealed if this is a sim or an arcade title.

But expecting MSG going for the masses...
My bet it'll be Forza and people we have never heard of before lol

No one invited me ;(

They said you've gotta have a personality ;)

But this isn't MSG?

Metal Gear Solid or MonoSodium Glutamate?

When it does come out people will complain about certain aspects. Again, been there before with ACC etc and the games have improved. Of course, you won't please everyone as if life.

Easier for me, I'm to much of a plep to notice if a sim's tire model or physics are off :)

I just drive into a wall to see that nope, no sim has their physics perfect yet :) (even BNG)

Looks nice, moves nice and sounds nice, but nowadays there is no much difference between simulators in physics department. Graphics and sounds, have some, but no simulator is that far from the others. What really makes difference is the business model, multiplayer structure and content... for those who play offline, the content is what really make difference, AND THIS GAME ARRIVES WITH THE SAME OLD GT3 (at least not at Spa, to fulfil the meme).

Hope it find it's way with business model and MP... maybe they bring us more than GT3
