Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
I'm sorry guys. I guess I just panicked a bit. My full name appeared on SGP and I don't know where they got it from. I wasn't happy reading that they share the info, but I guess it's there. Maybe I'm over concerned, heck most of my info is probably out there already.

As for racing: Most of the time I'm alone in practice. I joined for the community. Right now I only see people on race day when I take part for 1 hour, and since we're racing there's very little socialising. I was hoping to make friends and practice with people. It's a great way to learn, and in these days the social aspect is a big deal for me. I've made some friends, but of course there isn't always time for talking. With 30+ sign ups a week, it's sad to see the practice server empty most of the time.

Also the time of the races. Normally on Sundays I visit my mother and have dinner with her. On race day, between practice and race end is usually between 15:00 and 17:00 - which cuts into dinner and visiting time with my mother.

I hope you all can understand why I'm feeling the way I do. I'm afraid of alienating myself, because I was so enthusiatic when I signed up. I like the people here, and what I've learned so far.

Managed to make a major error on the first lap, really gutted as I thought I could get into the top 10 again today.

I think the nerves of being nearer the front got me, after surviving the first lap with no incident 2nd to last turn, I watched too much of the car in front, turned in too early taking too much curb at the pit entry and spun off into the pit lane wall Impossible to do anything other than wait for the whole pack to pass at that point. So I instead enjoyed fighting my way back up from last. Bit of handbags with a GTR a few laps later resulting in another brief off, one of those moments where we both appeared to be waiting for each other so not sure who was at fault :roflmao:

I'm surprised I got P8 in spite of my incompetence. I think I had a pace advantage to the bunch of guys in front of me, at least for the first half of the race, but it's just impossible to get a clean overtake in - I spent so much time at the back of queues and always had to lift, never even had any mistakes to take advantage of until it was too late. And then I tried an undercut on Dean, which failed miserably as he only pitted 20 minutes later :ninja:

Apologies for the spin @Kek700 :( I assume we had the same idea of taking advantage of the room on the inside of turn 4 at the same time, and I was far too slow to react to your move, at that point the track was like a funnel on that spot on the kerb. Shame because from then on you started lapping much faster than before and were on track to get P5 even :(

Thanks for hosting Brian, and congrats to the podium finishers. Shame about the server troubles but I think the race was still worth the wait.

Well done Tim. Softs definitely the right choice on this track. To say you ended up last that's a great result.

I think your GTR was the same GTR that divebombed me a couple of times. I watched the replay and wasn't too impressed. He certainly should have waited for you when punted on the corner just before pit entry.

I am normally on the practise server a few nights a week. A rough schedule is Tuesday MX5 practice for the Weds event. Thurs and Friday GT3 practice. 7 - 9 UK time.
 
It was just not my day, the gods were against me from square one. I just lost too much time, to be able to do anything in the race.
I miss my Nissan, trying to overtake with the McLaren, it was next to impossible, time and time again got a better exit , got a slip stream, even the whole length of the back straight could not gain 1 millimetre.
Just had to rely on mistakes, none of the Rotters :(made any mistakes, when they made small errors still could not get the McLaren past.
I could just about catch the very consistent Brian, @Interslice but an overtake was going to be next to impossible, so basically gave up on that.
Mind you I was not the only one, a great race by the 911, Dean ,really felt for him
Did a great statigic race, but the splash and dash, and worn mediums was a bridge too far, just needed a bit of luck too. :(

Thanks Lewis. Yeah I was watching that unfold when I caught up..

I felt it went wide and I took the normal line to gain the advantage. Wasn't much difference in the end anyway. Yeah softs were great, left rear got hot a few times but that long straight cools it down.

I actually drove down the pit lane :) after my spin thinking I may aswell do my stop but then decided I didn't fancy going out on 70 litres of fuel and mediums so came out again. :O_o:
 
It should've been an intense race given that @pattikins and I had the same pace, but he bogged down on start (1st gear too tall, I guess) and got stuck behind @640er for many laps while I was slowly growing the gap after lap 2, where I almost had an oopsie slightly touching outside grass before the turn 2, but managed to save it.
With this disposition, I concentrated on doing consistently fast laps and thankfully the setup felt good for the duration of the whole stint, so maintaining the same pace was no problem. It was nice being able to race on softs again and not worrying about rears overheating. I pitted on lap 20 and took the lead again a lap later as almost anyone in front stopped at about the same time. The gap to P2 was about 14-15 seconds and essentially remained the same for the rest of this uneventful race.
I finally managed to get "Most Consistent" trophy, all the laps where within one second of the fastest and 2/3 within .5 :)

Can't say I like this track, it feels too small for GT3 cars

Hi everyone, just wanted to say thank you and that I really enjoyed my first online race with Assetto Corsa. Great racing but I have a long way to go, thanks to the guy who gave me a bit of advice with moving over too early for the blue flags. Practice practice practice...… Very good community and thanks once again for all the help trying to sort the server issue out.

Enjoyed that race. First time out in the Z4 in 7 or 8 months. As usual i never have my best lap times in it, but i was still able to bore @Kek700 and dean to death for 20 minutes, finally get past them and put stefano under a bit of pressure before the pits...

Alot of pro pit stop strats tonight! I came out on fresh tires in 10th which eventually became 6th again. With 2 laps left i was back behind stefano in the 488... He must have been on the meds 1 litre stop strat. Took a long time to grind back the 10 or 15 seconds he gained at the pits. With the better tyres i was luckily able to get a nicer exit onto the back straight and pass him into the hairpin on the last lap to snatch p5 at the death.

Thanks to everyone who showed up for the v2 of tonights race and made it good in the end.

I checked your top speed in the replay. If its numbers are correct, 236 km/h is way too low for this track, even for a McLaren. Likely too much downforce, hence why you were having problems in slipstream
