Reiza Studios continue their quest to add fine polish to their AMS 2 racing simulation, and today have deployed a second hotfix update since leaving Steam Early Access.
  • AMS 2 V1 released 01.07.2020
  • Second hotfix update since leaving Early Access
  • Time trail leaderboards reset
Having come out of the blocks strongly back on Wednesday with their initial V1 release of Automobilista, the Brazilian development team have remained hard at work responding to community feedback and resolving some of the more minor issues that didn't quite make it in time for the main release window.

The simulation has been under a beta development window for a few months now as Reiza Studios look to get their heads around the new Madness game engine, and having first started out life in closed early access beta status, the popular team behind Game StockCar Extreme and the original AMS title always aimed to get a V1 update out in early 2020, with a robust roadmap of development set to expand into the months ahead.

Now celebrating their second post V1 hotfix update, the Studio have looked to further tweak and improve many of the visual aspects of the simulation, whilst adding new features and functionality to the game as they continue to bring the quality of each car and location to a standardised level.

It is worth noting as part of this update that time trail leader boards have been reset and HUD updates will reset previous customisation.

  • Wiper and windshield animation added to several vehicles
  • AI minor tweaks
  • Improved audio on some cars
Other highlights from the 1.0.0.2 hotfix build of today include the addition of windshield wiper animation on a number of cars already within the game, allowing players to now take advantage of the solid weather implementation within the title. Of those that have been updated, the new 2020 StockCar Brasil Toyota Corolla and Chevrolet Cruize are arguably the highlights.

As V1 came with a heavily WIP version of the legendary Mount Panorama Circuit in Australia, this second hotfix release also addresses some of the missing assets from the track model, with several WIP trackside buildings, fences, armco and various track furniture having been included within the circuit surroundings - although it is advised that much of Bathurst is still in progress and will substantially change and improve in the weeks ahead.

I don't understand how people get a good feeling, the ffb is really bad for me.
impossible to find a good setting...

Sorry to read that and maybe their is no solution for you, all I can do is share my experience.

After a very rocky start with the first EA version, then things got better for me with AMS2 in EA, but FFB was a little bland for me, until I tried one of the custom files, tweaked it and arrived to a FFB, that for me, feels as good as any other FFB out there. Even with 1.0, still very good.

You have the game now, it is yours to enjoy, loading a custom file takes second and cost nothing, I hope you find the one that makes FFB good for you and makes you share our enthusiasm for AM2.

What are your thoughts on the TC and ABS settings that are currently active on the GT4 Ginetta? I’m under the impression that these are superfluous and not actually doing anything like they were for some cars during the early access period. I did a few quick tests leaving TC and ABS at their default values and it doesn’t really feel to me like either of them are actually present on the car. Also, the car has nothing listed under electronics in the vehicle selection screens.
The Supercup version shouldn't feature ABS and TC afaik.
Some cars still have inactive elements, that aren't greyed out.

I just want to add this: someone earlier in this thread referred to Brazilian tracks as crap. Well, after spending a very happy Saturday afternoon driving the P2 Metalmoro around some of those tracks, I can conclude that referring to Brazilian tracks as 'crap' is akin to calling the Brazilian football team crap.

Awesome, awesome game.

I looked at the pages for the G55 GT4 and the G55 SuperCup on Ginetta’s site and there’s no mention of ABS or TC. There’s always the possibility that the real world SuperCup series allows TC and ABS but I couldn’t find any web site for the series…let alone its rulebook…to confirm. It just feels kind of unlikely to me that a series like the Ginetta SuperCup would allow for adding technologies like ABS and TC to the base cars even with spec systems.

Side Note: The G55 SuperCup on Ginetta’s site mentions the gearbox has auto throttle blip. No surprise at all really based on how the car feels and sounds in the game but good to confirm.

All good points, I don't know if the TCS and ABS are working in-game as I have the assists set to off. I believe but could, of course, be wrong that the AM drivers are allowed to use ABS and Traction control but Pro drivers are not to keep the racing close. The only reference I could find for that was to the 2017 series though.

Here's a link to the rulebook for 2020 if you want all the detail!

Good finds MarkR. Thank you!

I did some quick searching within the PDF for ‘traction’ and ‘ABS’ which yielded no results. The rules all basically say or point to the concept of “The car is built to a spec by Ginetta and must be raced as that manufacturer spec.” That Daily Sportscar article sure is quite clear though that TC and ABS were at least plausible.

Nah. What Reiza should do with F-Vintage is make the F2 version of the Brabham complete with…
f2+rindt+1968+brabham.jpg

Actually, no. Please don’t do that Reiza. I was kidding. It would make for a great “announcement” though next April 1.

Actually one of my favorite cars I would like to see in AMS 2 is the Chaparral 2E. Born in 1966 it comes with an active DRS-system, a 2-gear automatic gear-box and it was one of the best handling cars in Forza 5:) The real car has three pedals, but no clutch. The third pedal needs to be pressed down to keep the wing flat on the straights. 450 bhp on 703 kg.

Those guys really work hard and quick.

Many updates and hot fixes,

in each update they revise very fundamental core aspects of the sim like the handling physics or the FFB.

Things you don't see them happen in more expensive sims more than once a year or couple of years.

I really wish them the best.
They shouldn't have put the game on the market yet, a lot of things have been improved, but essential things like pit stops and and the adjustable duration of career mode are not present.
