Marco Massarutto has confirmed more Assetto Corsa Competizione news will be coming in the next weeks during this latest interview with technology giants Nvidia...

During the brief interview video with Nvidia presenter Julian Huguet recently, Kunos Simulazioni Co-Founder Marco Massarutto has revealed some interesting insight into the highly anticipated new title from the makers of Assetto Corsa, including confirmation that the studio continue to target a "late summer" 2018 Early Access release date, and going on to mention that more news about the new simulation should be revealed in the next few weeks.

Already we've seen quite a bit of footage from ACC thanks to the various launch and reveal events around the world, and again this latest interview with Nvidia gives players another glimpse at what promises to be a highly polished visual treat, building on the already exceptionally solid foundations of Assetto Corsa as the Italian team move to the powerful Unreal 4 game engine - a first for the studio and yet another notable developer making use of this mightily potent engine for a sim racing game.

On average vulkan currently benefits AMD way more then Nvidia, it doesnt always result in a higher fps overall however its something I guess.

Ok ill give you a practical example, and i swear i dont root for any major corporation, in the end of the day they are all after our money and thats about it, but, i have a 1080 and i bought the Samsung CHG
90 , it has freesync so i thought, mmm maybe i should trade my GTX for a Vega, let me check again hard data in real world.....first of all the Vega 64 that is the closest to the regular 1080 cost around 900 bucks here ( the 1080 costs around 550/600), that alone was already disappointing, then to add assault to injury they have loads of heat issues and consume more electricity.... so bummer... would be handy to have a decent AMD card to make use of freesync but no ... no proper card atm...actually it would be cheaper to go for a 1080ti and aim to never go below 120 or 144 FPS in any sim :)
 
In the video there seemed to be a lot of talk about 'Gamepads'...'Making it easy for the casual gamers'....hope it's not going to be just another GT or Forza physics based simulation....also hoping the Hardcore Sim Racers will not be forgotten with steering wheels and high end peripherals etc....other than that it looks outstanding.

They guy asked him a question, what do you expected for an answer?

Don´t Worry, one of the "devs" answered me that question in a gameplay video (i did some research of his name) and he said that 21 cars is not the grid limit, because there´s plenty of cars unfinished. But, the point is that is going to be higher (he didn´t tell me any number) and the number of cars will be determinated by the track.

Hopefully that is the case, I remember hearing something about AI using real physics and it would be too taxing to run a full grid. Also hoping to see some more of the obscure cars like the Lexus and Aston. Right now its just all Audi, Ferrari and AMG's.

The AI in AC(1) already used the player physics, which to my knowledge, is the only sim to do so.

For a sequel which is solely focused on 1 series, with a very similar behavior between the cars, why would Kunos choose to go backwards?

It certainly could happen if they decide to go for better performance while still maintaining believable AI that are 'faked', but for now, I would assume they will still use the player physics.

I was talking about fixing emerging issues and bugs most which are found by users not labs
You know the game fixes listed in Release notes with every driver
Have you ever read Release notes ?
Scroll down to bottom on any Nvidia driver version page and read "Changes and Fixed Issues in Version xxx "

As I said you will see lots of fixes for all sorts of titles but look through every single driver, trust me you won't find anything as I read them all, I am not guessing

You may find notes VR or 3D Vision compatibility upgraded .....but they are not bugs

Show me one reference to any SMS fix or for that matter any other "sim" , good luck ;)

Yep unless you are on the low end there really isnt any reason to go with AMD at all in the gpu end, they are clearly struggling with nvidias cards at the moment which are on the tail end of their life spans already.

For anyone that isnt into computers see 919 vs r18 2015 down the silverstone straights, thats basically what has happened with this generation of gpus.
 
I think 2019 we simracers and fans of GT3`s are in heaven. Just imagine, that Kunos is making a complete game wich finally is done and not five years in some sort of beta stadium, development or something. Just go into the market, grab a copy off the shelf and you are ready for complete 24h-cycles, weatherchanges and thrilling GT3 action. And on top of that, all that will come with great graphics. Its the complete package, that good old GTR2 fans have waited for so long. Its gonna be like porn, so sit in your racingrig and enjoy those times.

But there is one little thing wich also has my greatest attention: I preordered my Fanatec DD Wheel Base 2 yesterday. So i would say im going fu***** nuts in the next few months. :cool:

"Determined by the track" is such bullshit. If the real championship can stuff 40+ cars at Brands Hatch, any game representing said championship should be able to do the same.

Except it's not, in the real championship 22 or so cars race at Brands Hatch, the same in Zolder, Misano and any other Sprint track, so sticking with realism only you would never have a larger grid at these tracks for the current championship.
There is a reason for that as well, most of these tracks don't have the pit lane and facilities to be able to hold that many cars in the first place. The largest the sprint cup ever been was around 30 cars.

In part 2 of the RaceDepartment interview with Kunos (around the 9 min mark) they said they were aiming for 30 cars. Most racing sims use "real" physics for the AI. What is unique about AC is it uses the player physics for the AI presumably with adjustments (grip? power?) so the AI speed can be varied. To provide a balanced viewpoint, at least two "rival" sims would no doubt point out that their tyre model requires substantially more processing power than that used by AC and hence they don't have the option to use the same tyre model for the AI.
 
Yes, the DD2 version 1.499€.
The DD1 version should be just over 1.000€, if rumors are true.
But anyway it's a lot, too much for me.
Rumours? it's been announced that the DD1 is being sold on a weekly auction only. So only 1 available per week for whatever people bid for. So good luck getting it for 1000 or even getting hold of one at all. I would buy one without question if it was a 1000. I've given up with Fanatec because of this scam tactics. Sorry going way off topic here.
 
so to recap:

ACC supports 60 AI cars -> that's because the physical model is simple
ACC does not support 60 AI car -> that's because devs are not good at optimizing

can't win :p
RF2 has no issues with today's tech

GTX1180 is around corner too.

why limit when 'PC' users can deem their own acceptable framerate?

Maybe you could make it available i some user.ini file similar to the Ferrari F1 hack
