Kunos Simulazioni have revealed the Intercontinental GT Series will be coming to Assetto Corsa Competizione in the near future.

Having secured a licence agreement with the SRO Motorsport Group to bring the official simulation of the Blancpain GT Series to sim racers gaming PC's, Kunos Simulazioni have now confirmed another high profile racing series will be added to the title as post release DLC - the rather epic Intercontinental GT Challenge!

So what does this mean? New liveries for the cars? Actually, quite a bit more than that...

Introducing The Intercontinental GT Pack, coming soon to Assetto Corsa Competizione!

A few years ago, SRO Motorsports Group introduced the Intercontinental GT Challenge, the first ever global GT3 Series, aimed to represent the highest achievement in long-distance GT racing. Its calendar includes some of the most iconic tracks in the world.

The Intercontinental GT Pack, to be fully dedicated to the Intercontinental GT Challenge, will feature new tracks such as Suzuka, Mount Panorama, Laguna Seca and Kyalami, with the South African circuit reproduced for the first time ever in a racing simulation using laserscan technology, just like all other tracks in the pack, in order to guarantee the ultimate accuracy.

More news about release date, features and media content will be available later this year. KUNOS also confirms that the team is working hard to release the 2019 GT Championship update, featuring 6 new cars and Zandvoort circuit, as a free update to the base game within Fall 2019.

The release date and pricing of the Intercontinental GT Pack DLC will be announced later on.

AWESOME!

Wasn't expecting a DLC announcement before the release of the 2019 update so this is a very pleasant surprise. I'm stoked to see more tracks!!
Some fixes in the 1.0.8 changelog also ticked few of my boxes so I couldn't be happier with the direction ACC is going

well, not really disapointed, but seeing that this is more of a same, I might not be getting this one , was really hoping for something along GT4/GT5 spec of cars , those I would really love to drive around

Not sure what GT5 cars are but imo GT4s seem like a pretty safe bet when looking at the SRO catalogue.
New tracks have historically been on the lighter side with kunos relative to cars, so I don't think many people will consider it "more of the same".
I think it makes sense to make that the main announcement - Kunos has shown to be very good at pushing out new cars, so just because nothing was announced I see no reason why that form is likely to change.

Great to see Kunos sticking to the “complete series” mentality as much as possible. Epic collection of some of the most iconic tracks here.

I know everyone wants everything straight away but reality is development takes time (and a lot of $)
There’s always the possibility of GT4 later as another DLC, as well as my constant hope for the Formula Renault Eurocup Blancpain support series.

Having said that I’m very happy as is and this DLC will make it all much better :)

GT5 would be something like Ginetta G40
proper entry level GTs
Considering the strong SRO ties with the title, I'd look only at their range for possible future expansion. GT4 is the lowest 'full' series of cars afaik. Seems like a natural progression to me from GT3s.

Though as someone else mentioned, the Formula Renault Eurocup series would be peak simracing for me - small, lightweight simple open wheeler on proper wet weather physics. :inlove: Though considering how GT focused ACC is, seems highly unlikely.

Considering they will bring IGTC to ACC, and how some races have more variety of classes, things can get interesting for those not too much into GT3, like GT300, GT4, the MARC Cars machines and such. Also, the GT Cup class would become attractive than the pair of grid fillers for the Spa 24 Hours.

Honestly I'm doubtful they will cover everything as even the 2019 season would demand an immense amount of work, though I can be proven wrong.

Yep, while definitely not something to expect (nothing is really) it’s not THAT far fetched as it runs as the official support series for Blancpain Europe using all the same tracks but adds Monaco and Abu Dhabi.

If it was to ever happen it would be much later down the line I’d say.

For now, official endurance series will be awesome.
