I don't think anything big will happen.

The two Force India team members that left were obviously shaken at the event though, and that it happened at all is a concern.

I think it's place on the calender needs a re-think.

Its going to happen. The FI guys were there in the wrong place at the wrong time, simple as that, they weren't singled out. This little incident gets totally shoved up and inflated by the media just like any small little thing in the world.

Don't expect many spectators but they are already there, let the racing begin. 1 race isn't going to affect their political issues, other countries have it worse yet they can host international events without such issues, but then again Bernie shouldnt have pushed to the FIA for this to happen. Oh well its on the FIA if something happens, thats why we have something called "security".

lol i love this part

"General Notes
Remember, there's no Mercedes Safety Car this race - the Bahrain GP Safety Car will be a tracked vehicle that can do 26 mph (or 28 mph if they heat up the tracks in the garage before it goes out. Arf! What am I like?) It can only do 23 mph if it's firing its water canon."

You really have to consider the fact that the protesters are mainly Shia muslims, which are peaceful.

I really doubt that a violent incident could happen. As a Shia Muslim myself, i can say that with certainty.

When Fangio was kidnapped, he was treated extreamly well, (he reported) that his kidnappers were gentlemen to him.

When I say that something is going to happen or its like there is a build up to something, it doesnt mean anything violent or agressive, it can be as little as having someone walk on the track during the race, like we saw with the "fathers for justice".

My point would be, why go to a country and hold a world wide viewed event and risk anything, where people want to get media to aid there cause or to advertise there problems.

To me its just asking for trouble.

Bahrain F1 security stepped up as practice runs begin

Authorities in Bahrain have tightened security ahead of practice sessions for Sunday's Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Anti-government protesters have promised "three days of rage" to coincide with the event.

Correspondents say there is palpable unease about the fate of the race amid escalating unrest and violence.

On Wednesday night, Force India team members were forced to flee as petrol bombs were thrown near their car on their way back from the track.

The four mechanics in a 4x4 were caught in the middle of an incident as police clashed with protesters. Two members of the team have since asked to return home.

Formula 1's governing body, the FIA, only decided to go ahead with this weekend's race at the last minute.

On Friday evening, the UK's shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper called for the Grand Prix to be cancelled. She told the BBC's Question Time programme: "It shouldn't go ahead, I don't think British drivers should go. I think the Formula One should not go ahead in Bahrain."

that sounds very peacefull !!!!

Well we know that Force India is not playing this afternoon because of its concerns about getting back to the hotel safely after dark... but Bernie Ecclestone says he does not think there is anything to be concerned about.

What a loon.
