Formula 1 moves south from Austin into Mexico this week for the 2022 Mexican Grand Prix.

An exciting race at the Circuit of the Americas last weekend has left fans with some hope that there is still some great racing to watch at the tail end of an F1 season that has been dominated by one team and one driver.

Max Verstappen has been confirmed as a two-time drivers' champion, and his Red Bull team have now officially locked up the constructors' championship.

Verstappen’s teammate Sergio Perez will be doing his absolute best to win at his home race in Mexico. Perez will need to find a way past Verstappen, who is on a quest to become the first F1 driver to ever win 14 races in a season.

Sebastian Vettel gave his fans something to remember in Austin. His F1 career will draw to a close at the end of this season, but the 4-time champion proved he still possesses greatness with a masterful final lap at COTA to claim a hard-fought 8th position in the race.

Another multiple time world champion, Lewis Hamilton, nearly kept his record streak of seasons with at least one win alive last weekend, but ended up settling for 2nd after being overtaken by Verstappen in the closing laps of the race.

Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez is the highest circuit on the F1 calendar. At 2,200 meters above sea level, it sits nearly three times higher than the next highest circuit. This drastic elevation change could make for some interesting results in the race as the various teams’ aero packages based on the 2022 regulations are tested for the first time.

What are your predictions for the race? Let us know in the comments below and in the attached poll.

7 millions is peanuts for Red Bull. It isn't even close to Max's title bonus or to their 2022 profit. It would hurt Red Bull if the fine would go into the 2023 cost cap, but I understand it doesn't.

The restriction on wind tunnel is the only effective penalty. What actual impact it may have is another story. Ferrari is making the point that RedBull will spend elsewhere the wind tunnel budget that they are not allowed to use, which mitigates the negative impact of the restriction - to which extent nobody knows yet.

This is why we need Mercedes to be better next year, and from the looks of things it's going to be.

The F1 was a snoozer but watch the end of the NASCAR race. Ross Chastain made of the craziest moves I’ve ever seen on a race track! :roflmao:

Oh you've been gone for a bit, how does it feel seeing your hero beaten week in week out? Thats another record for MV by the way :)

Max is absolutely hooked up and one with that car.
He is doing a great job and in a lot of ways, faster than even last year.
He is a more complete driver this season.
It also helps that he has been pretty much mistake-free all season.
As to this track....
I like the main straight and the few follow-on corners but I'm not a fan of the stadium complex.
There is too much speed scrubbed there with that series of Mickey-Mouse corners.

I don’t understand how the tire projections were so far off. We had the broadcast team talking about 2 stops with mediums and hards but clearly the fastest strategy was a 1 stop with softs and mediums.

Can we collectively decide that if a race is a 1 stop, that they go down a step in hardness the next season? How does this keep happening?

I think Verstappen can't win without controversy. Then he gets mad and wants to boycott Sky Sports because they always tease him about the 2021 title. What a wimp.
