Who will win the Dutch GP?

The home race for the reigning and likely two-time champion Max Verstappen runs this weekend as F1 takes on Zandvoort.

It has become increasingly difficult to perceive any threats to Max Verstappen winning a second consecutive drivers' championship as the 2022 season has progressed, and this weekend is unlikely to change that trend.

Verstappen will be looking to claim victory in what is considered to be his home race, the Dutch Grand Prix. His campaign this season has been impressive to say the least, and neither Ferrari nor Mercedes have found an answer to his dominance.

With fewer than ten races left in 2022 and the drivers' and constructors' championships all but concluded, much of F1 viewing may shift to the midfield. After an impressive start to the year, Ferrari has been plagued by inconsistency and questionable strategy calls. They sit just 41 points ahead of Mercedes, who lack the pace of Ferrari or Red Bull, but have shown consistency.

A collision involving two drivers who account for nine drivers' championships occurred last weekend at Spa-Francorchamps when Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso collided early in the race. This captured a lot of negative attention on social media, but the former teammates have since been photographed together smiling and embracing.

This will be the last run at Zandvoort for Sebastian Vettel, who plans to retire at the end of this season. The four-time champion has long been a fan favourite, and this support has increased further since the announcement of his intended departure from F1.

Other than Verstappen, who do you expect to see on the podium this weekend?

Go back and read your post , it is worrying if you think it was acceptable.
Yes, that was acceptable. I didn't use profanity, I didn't demean any demographic. I merely stated what I have observed in F1 at this point. I have no allegiances to any team, sponsor, driver, track or record.

People getting pissy because I don't eat all things F1 and suggesting I watch something else is really the sad part.

If something is broken. and you aren't objective enough to fix it, even if you like it.

The issue with this type of conspiracy theory is that it requires too many people to be involved to keep it a secret.
Let's say that Horner DOES decide that to secure the race win they need to get Max in to change tyres, and they need Alpha Tauri to help in some way.

That needs to be communicated to AT and then passed onto Tsunoda who has to "pretend" he has a car issue; and at the right time.
Would he REALLY pretend that there is a car issue?
How is he told without the message being overheard?

There was no need to bring him in and send him out again. They could have just instructed him to park the car at any time.
There doesn't even have to be a fault with the car; if your chief mechanic tells you that you must stop to save the car you'll do just that... wouldn't you?

I don't believe in this conspiracy theory at all. It is seeking attention how long have we not heard the Massi story from the same club of people. Mercedes better put the energy in the car it's quite negative to shout it without being able to prove anything

Both are the same issue, incompetence. There was no reason at all for Alpha to sacrifice themselves there. Max was going to win anyway.

The Merc "fans" banging on about that conspiracy are a joke...especially as most of them call anyone who disagrees with them "DTS" fans. Then again when 8 WCCs and 7 WDCs in 8 years isn't enough it says volumes about that type of fan....can you imagine the internet if Ferrari fans were a 10th as bad as some Merc fans?

Easy to figure out. They would be a 10th as bad as some RedBull fans.

Well if (when? :( ) RB dominate for 8 years you'll have a point, right now you don't. Also there was no where near the complaints from RB fans after 2014 regs stopped their mini dominance, bad Merc fans are REALLY bad. Toto doesn't help (granted Horner is no angel) with the nonsense he spouted about Tsunoda.

My point is that extreme fanboyism is bad whatever the team or driver you support. The single fact that you consider some extreme fanboyism is better than other shows a serious bias. Some people enjoy discussions that way but I guess the numbers tell that most people don't.

I am not a RB fan but I am a fan of Max .. well I think being a fan at the age of fifty is also a thing. I can enjoy his god given talent that I have not seen after Senna and Schumacher era. luckily this year Merc is not in the mix for the wdc maybe but better too, nice and quiet season. But I expect them back next year and they are getting stronger. Incidentally, I think Totto has an obsession with Max Verstappen together with LH they can't handle last year.

That's not the point I was making. I'll try and make it clearer.....

You have a bunch of fanbois who have enjoyed almost complete dominance for eight years complaining.

Yes all fanboiism is bad, but it's on another level regarding Merc fans complaining because of that dominance for so long. Comprende?
