On the iOpener website there is a very interesting article about an upcoming World Rally Championship simulator:

World Rally Championship's next game: Racing live against rally heroes

The next generation WRC computer game will allow players to 'compete' in live rallies", states ISC chairman Neil Duncanson in the April version of SportBusiness International magazine. ISC, the global promoter of the World Rally Championship (WRC), mentions WRC's ultimate goal as building up an online gaming world championship alongside the real thing.
ISC and the computer gaming industry believe the next step in gaming is this 'live' competition between gamers and real drivers, made possible through iOpener's patented technology.
ISC CEO Simon Long says: "Now we are a global promoter, we want this to be multi-platform, multi-publisher, multi-territory."
For Long and Duncanson the new game is part of WRC's broader efforts to appeal new fans beyond the hardcore enthusiastics. FIA's chairman Max Mosley has said the virtual champion will be honoured at the WRC's annual end-of-season awards ceremony in Monaco.

Last April we already brought you the first news about iOpener Media's beta testers recruitment for their Real Time Racing project.

The news about this technology where virtual racers can compete against the real drivers on the track in real time is now spreading amoung the simracing communities.

Once again these bozos have released a game that does not allow separate pedals and wheel. It make sme wonder if the developers ever take the time to read around in the simracing forums. If they did they would know that a lot of us have setups composed of 2 or more controllers (I have 3, wheel, pedals and a button box).

I can suffer through bad graphics and less than realistic driving but I simply cannot be bothered to reconfigure my rig everytime I want to play a game. I find it simply idiotic that in this day and age they rel;ease games that are 10 years out of date.

Well, I cannot say this game brightens my day, it's quite black really.

Anyone have any tip? This is on PC.

EDIT: It works now, I can't use 4xAA...

Hi guys, I have a strange problem with the game.. I can access the game menus, select cars and locations, but when i select a stage, the loading screen comes up, I can see the car and i get a crash to desktop.. Cant figure out what the problem is..

My system:
Intel core i3
4GB Ram
nvidia geforce 8400GS 1GB
Windows 7 64 bit

I also tried various resolutions, video and audio settings, nothing worked out. Can anybody help me out on this issue?

And the Safari cars should at least have the safari-style air-thing...

There are so many small things with this game that, honestly suck, it is amazing.

I managed to figure out what the problem is. Its regarding the audio. When i checked the "Disable Audio" i never had any crashes to my desktop. I have to play the game without the audio now

finally someone who makes mods for WRC2...btw where can i download it

I know that this game is still not perfect,
but damn .. that gameplay and especially the behaviour of the vehicles are really good..
also the new tracks I race with a smile on my face...so far well done.

Finally i sorted out my Audio problems by changing the audio quality to 24 bit 4800 Hz.. This is not at all a bad game when compared to WRC 2010.. Yes, its not a 100% sim like Richard Burns Rally, but its really fun to drive the cars. I love the exhaust sounds!

IMO this game hits the right balance for an arcade Rally game and it's pretty satisfying to flip your car or go flying off a cliff at least because you can't do it in other games.

The setup settings are a bit deeper than WRC2010 as far as I remember and it has everything except Toe-in/out, camber and tire pressure.
I really like the "Road to WRC" career where you can get sponsorships with specific challenges that once completed will earn you credits with which you can buy new cars.
They also implemented the "rewind" feature introduced by GRID or DIRT which saves me in almost every stage

Tempted by this - can be had for under £14 online for PC.

I have Clubsport pedals - is that still a problem for the game - I gave up trying to configure the demo of the first game.

Does it work okay on triple screens ?

do not buy it.
only two stages, actually one stage but the other one is in reverse.
The stage is around 4 minutes long...and i don't like it

Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting WRC 2 for the PS3 and I actually want to try to get all the achievements for it. Are there people who play this game online? If not is there anyone in RD who has the game on PS3 be willing to help me get the online achievements?
