Today we take a look at some of the latest mod releases for Reiza Studio's Automobilista simulation. From the mighty recreation of the once great CART series to a smattering of new circuits, June's Modding Roundup aims to give you a quick tour of what's new in AMS this month.

As always with these articles, we at RaceDepartment in no way endorse the highlighted mods or take any responsibility for any issues caused to your gaming machine by downloading the files. This article is not intended to act as a recommendation, it is purely an opportunity to highlight some of the great community produced content available currently for a selection of PC racing games. I'll try my best to pick the best and give a thorough roundup of what's out and about but please do feel free to leave a message in the comments if you see anything you think should be included in the next round up...

Patrick Giranthon has released the legendary CART Extreme for AMS in an official update from the original authors of this epic rFactor 1 mod, Racing Line Development. Benefitting from the support and help of some of the original RLD members, CART Extreme has received the AMS treatment with many graphical improvements. Including new car shaders, updated physics and sounds as well as the inclusion of AMS specific features such as dirt pickup and tyre flat spots. Featuring all 28 cars of the 1998 season, 4 unique chassis, 4 engine manufacturers and 4 chassis specifications for road, short oval and speedway tracks, this is indeed the mother of all mods for AMS.

Yet another release from Mr. AMS himself Patrick Giranthon, this time working his magic on the GSCE version of America's Laguna Seca Raceway. Patrick has reworked the gravel, grass and sandy areas of the circuit to bring visuals more in line with the current state of the real track. Other aesthetic work has been undertaken to improve the visual comparison to its real life counterpart. The usual Giranthon quality.

Perfect accompaniment to the recently released CART Extreme comes this American road course deep in the heart of Oregon. Once again updated from the GSCE original by Patrick Giranthon and featuring all the latest goodies available in AMS, Portland racetrack is a fine addition to the stock content line-up in game. Patrick and co have worked on many visual aspects of the circuit and include both the chicane and non-chicane version with summer and autumn variants.

Home to the French Grand Prix for many years but somewhat forgotten in recent times, Patrick Giranthon brings the circuit back to life in AMS and now includes a much improved working AI file for offline racing. Some corrections to certain inaccuracies with the circuit layout have been made to bring this mod up to the current AMS standard. Drives and looks wonderful in what is often a widely underrated circuit.

Excellent Patrick Giranthon version of the popular Road Atlanta circuit in America. Featuring all the latest AMS features and shaders this is another superb example of how user created tracks can stand shoulder to shoulder with vanilla content in game. Brilliant addition to the sim and comes in 3 different seasonal moods. Epic.

Latest Release: 30/06/2016

Created by Marco Guerra using Reiza shaders and skybox with some objects from rF2 comes the Algarve International Circuit (Portimao) for AMS. Early in its development stages with a commitment for further updates by the author, this is a promising new addition to the sim and well worth keeping an eye on. Playable offline but with further tweaks to the AI required, Algarve is an exceptionally beautiful circuit and is an appropriate choice for some of the many vehicles found in the vanilla AMS install.

Another Marco Guerra AMS mod, this time scene of the 1994 Pacific Grand Prix in Aida, Japan. Featuring shaders, sky and some AMS features, this track is another interesting layout and fits well with much of the default AMS content. Although not visually as impressive as some other tracks found in game, Aida is a popular track and this mod from Marco is very playable and enjoyable to use in game. With solid AI and some challenging technical sections, this historic version of the Japanese venue is worth taking for a test drive (especially with the '95 Ferrari F1 car...).

Good work Patrick and team and Marco as well.

Seem to be spending pretty well all of my simracing time at present in AMS especially with the new cars, tracks and TT mode to try out and if we are having a track vote my choices would be Sebring and Silverstone.
