It's time for our second edition of our Automobilista modding roundup, giving you a run down of some of the best community created additions available for Reiza Studios new title from the month of May.

Today we take a look at Early Access title Automobilista, as part of our monthly focus on new and upcoming mods for a range of the top simulation games for Windows PC. Although relatively new on the sim racing scene, Automobilista is fast becoming a firm favourite title for both racers and the people behind producing great community created modding content.

As always with these articles, we at RaceDepartment in no way endorse the highlighted mods or take any responsibility for any issues caused to your gaming machine by downloading the files. This article is not intended to act as a recommendation, it is purely an opportunity to highlight some of the great community produced content available currently for a selection of PC racing games. I'll try my best to pick the best and give a thorough roundup of what's out and about but please do feel free to leave a message in the comments if you see anything you think should be included in the next round up...

Converted with permissions from the original Victor Souza rFactor mod, VaunBob brings a full field of 2016 specification Indycar models and paint schemes to a title currently lacking in quality American open wheel content. Currently at version 0.8 and very much considered a WIP project, the initial offerings from VaunBob indicate a very promising product and worthwhile addition to the sim. Dirt pickup and new tyre textures are due to be added in future alongside a full Indy 500 skinpack. The author confirms the mod could receive possible additional season paint schemes which should elevate this mod into an impressive package once complete.

From the author of the popular Rally Cross Supercars WORLDRX comes the addition of a full field of 1980 vintage Austin Mini Cooper Rallycross vehicles for AMS. Converted from the original rFactor 1 HistorX mod with permissions, gilles13 brings his epic little 4wd Mini into the sim to boost a rather light amount of off road content currently available. Complete with its own RealFeel values and due to receive further attention regarding the current AI and FFB alongside the possible inclusion of both Junior and Senior classes this should be a popular choice for off road racing fans.

Starting out life originally as a mod for Assetto Corsa, the Reliant Robin Mk. 1 finds its way into AMS with conversion permissions from original author Stereo. Brought to the sim by Reb.Ellion the 3 wheel Reliant Robin is an amusing alternative to the other often more serious cars found in Automobilista. Maybe a little rough round the edges in places and possibly benefiting from some further improvements with the car physics, this mod is nevertheless a fun little adventure and comes across as a surprisingly fun driving experience.

Exciting progress is being made by the increasingly prolific gilles13, as this time he shows a very nice looking preview of the 2016 specification Honda Civic Type R as campaigned by Matt Neal and Gordon Sheddon during the current British Touring Car season. gilles13 is steadily working on bringing together a collection of cars from the 2016 BTCC season and progress so far looks very good indeed. Further details are unavailable at this stage but should be worth keeping an eye out for in the coming weeks and months.

AMS is very much worth a look @aka2k

The team at Reiza have done a great job of producing a detailed game that runs well and looks nice too. The mod scene is slowly picking up but still has some way to go at the moment. With the default Reiza content (and more planned) plus some key mods AMS is a great package that should keep you entertained for a long time...

Also don't forget you could go Premium here at RD and join in on our AMS club racing to really get the best out of the game. We get pretty big grids in loads of different combinations and more often that not the racing is epic.

Cheers

One question about those club races. Why do you never drive with modded vehicles? I would love to see a rally cross race with our Bonkers Austin mini.

Is there a tutorial on how you do AMS tracks in AMS standard? So far i have only seen 1 person making that quality but ive heard about more people that want to but cant seem to get info on how to do it. Isnt Reiza sharing like Kunos on how to do it?

Also, thanks for the round up. :)
