I plan to purchase this particular monitor. Would I be best advised to get a AMD Radeon for FreeSync compatibility vs the nVidia to avoid the issues many have had? Currently using a GTX 1070....
Unfortunately the CRG90 was not certified.Just get NVidia, FreeSync works just fine and most FreeSync monitors got certified by NVidia itself.

Thanks for your reply....I think it depends on what sort of minimum framerate you're targeting and for which sims. Do you need minimum 60 fps in the rain & night in AMS? Or do you need minimum 90 fps in Raceroom and don't care about night or weather?
That makes it easier to choose because ACC is the toughest... the rest will fall in line.I need a min of 60 fps at night in the rain with a min of 20 AI in ACC, rF2, AMS2, pCARS 2.
This is a list of certified ones. https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/g-sync-monitors/specs/Unfortunately the CRG90 was not certified.
I have read about the flickering issues that some get and others do not.
It's the little details and inconsistency issues that's troublesome.....

Agreed.....but that card won't be available to the masses until 2021.a standard RTX 3080 is the minimum graphics card you should be aiming for with Ultra graphics settings.
This is a compelling feature...For me, I’d be interested in 1000R compared with CRG9 1800R.
My CRG90 sits 20" from my face and is a heat dish. You will be sweating hard without fans.
Interesting I was going to ask about this? Is that with HDR engaged? CRG90 is also HDR 1000 isn't it?
I have a HDR 1000 (1000 nit) 42 inch Philips monitor use it like a TV and it absolutely pumps out heat in HDR mode, uncomfortable when you sit close to it. Image is amazing especially when it comes to replicating shimmering water and sunlight etc but yeah... hot face.
