Road America - a track you all know and love and one which suits the power of the RSS 1970 perfectly.

Can I encourage everyone to share setups as it might tempt some more people to have a go if they have a stable setup to start.

Note the car is paid content but it's less than the price of a coffee so well worth it.

The format will be 2x25mins races

Another great combo Colin, thanks.

@thom462 @eN1xes @cerebralvortex @Peevee88 @Pedro Faisca @The Almighty Snark @Twoddle would be great if you guys could join us again (we really need one or two more to make it a viable grid)?

I don't claim to be a setup wizard and I think the standard setup is pretty stable but be careful not to downshift too quickly. If I think I've got anything better/different from Colin once I've practised a bit I'll also share that.

Attached is my setup, which I've dipped into the 1:06s. I don't know what I'm doing so would welcome any other setup to try.

Do have a go on the server as this is a nice combo and would be great with a larger grid.
I tried your setup Colin and I agree its more stable than the default. My base setup has the same gears, tyres, brakes, and aero but I'm running default drive train. That makes mine a bit harder to drive but I like being able to turn the car on the throttle out of the corners.

I won't confuse things by posting my setup but like I say it's Colin's with drive train back to default.

Good to see you signup Jason, hopefully a couple of others will too.

Ah, bummer Colin!

Nice pole lap, I was really pushing just like Jason and Thomas.

Race 1 I went to the right side on the straight to prevent Thomas from getting draft but I collided with the pit wall armco on my own and spun round. Man, that was a reeeealy stupid mistake there. I had slight front wing damage too. But I went after Thomas and after a mistake of his I got in front. It would have been a close battle otherwise I think.

Race 2 I was behind Thomas just like the last part of race 1, he spun and I was lucky to not collide with him through the thick smoke. Jason was pushing behind me, I was doing the same and was able to keep the gap to the flag.

Even though it was a small grid it was still a lot of fun. Driving this car around this track reminds me of indycar, my favourite formula series :)

Sorry I baled out in race 2 guys, the excitement of leading for most of lap one saw me understeer straight into the wall of the fast right hand kink, then bounced across the track in front of everyone. After that the car wasn’t handling like it did in race one so time for any early bath!

I am beginning to come to terms with this car, thanks Colin for the set up and hosting tonight, well done all, good fun with seat of the pants driving.

Sorry I left race 2 but I'd forgotten to pause OneDrive and is was uploading Race 2 as I sat on pole with a ping of 500+

We'll give the Escort/Alfa a run out next week
Richard suggested a fix to my OneDrive replay issue and this worked...

I just copied the replay folder to somewhere not getting backed up by OneDrive (i.e. C:\temp\ac_replay) and used this command on a Command Prompt window (in admin mode)...

mklink /J "C:\Users\colin\OneDrive\Documents\Assetto Corsa\replay" C:\temp\ac_replay

Replays are still created but files accessed via links are not backed up

Be sure to delete those replays from time to time ! Not sure why you would want them to be in a backup. I typically only look at them after the race, but I rarely look at a replay that is older than a few weeks.

Speaking of which. I wanted to have a look at my race 1 crash with the barrier on the pit straight but I don't have it haha. Not that it is important, just wanted to see how I managed to do it..

But while at it I made a video of my pole lap if anyone is interested.

Nice lap and great choice of camera angle for watching the pole lap.

I never realised that the driver head movement in AC was so realistic, really nice!

Spoke too soon. Appears that OneDrive supports files linked by symbolic links

I think it is the work of RSS. He takes a drink and can also lift his visor. Wait, Richard. Are you saying you did not get the complimentary drink during the race?
No, AC always had head movement (quite sure at least). The visor is RSS indeed, nice touch!

I actually wish CSP would add head movement in multiplayer for VR users. On open wheel cars like this I was looking at the other driver on the grid in VR, it would be nice if you would see them looking back or so ;)

Race 1 start did not go so well, It looks like qualifying ended and the race started rather quickly compared to what i expected. the race started just as i was putting my vr headset on and I ended up about 15-20 seconds behind.

Race to went a lot better but i got stuck behind Steve who put up a good defense, I only got past because he spun. After that it was push hard to see if i can close the gab to the leaders. Thomas had a couple of spins which drop'd him behind me. by the end of the race i did close the gap a good amount but still to far back to far back to do anything.
