Studio 397 have dropped the news that the fifth and final GT3 car coming to the GT3 Challengers DLC will be... the 2019 Aston Martin Vantage GT3!

Another new licence to the rapidly expanding rFactor 2 racing simulation, confirmation of the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 is also another sim racing exclusive - with Studio 397 having once again secured bragging rights as the first racing simulation to deploy a brand new spec GT3 car to the genre - joining the recently announced McLaren 720s revealed earlier this week.

In other rather happy news, Studio 397 have also confirmed the GT3 Challengers pack will be released tomorrow! Sadly, due to the tight timeframe constraints of licencing and the approvals process, the Aston Martin will not be made available immediately alongside the Porsche 911 GT3 R, BMW M6 GT3, Audi R8 LMS GT3 and McLaren 720s GT3 - players will have to wait just a little bit longer to find out how the new Aston drives (and looks!) in sim, until final approvals have been released by the manufacturer.

That aside, the imminent release of this upcoming and rather exciting looking new DLC for rFactor 2 should give us all a rather solid reason to avoid having to socialise with family over the Christmas period - that alone being worth the price of the new pack!

GT3 Challengers DLC Contents:
  • Aston Martin Vantage GT3 (delayed release)
  • Audi R8 LMS GT3
  • BMW M6 GT3
  • McLaren 720s GT3
  • Porsche 911 GT3 R

rFactor 2 is available exclusively for PC from Steam now.

One word about the UI though... I read this on the "December roadmap"

"And of course there are many other topics we should update you on, such as the competition system and UI. They are probably taking a bit longer than we all expected, but I’m confident that we will see them materialize in 2019, and since this update is already almost the size of a book, I propose we save some of that for the next edition"

So perhaps Q1 is not really when we´ll see the new UI...

UI and competition system... it's coming.
Can I race and lap the SIM now as I have been doing these last few years, erm yep...

Will it be better when all this fancy stuff comes along? Hope so... May be yes may be no. But will I still enjoy it? Probably.

Think people need to stop waiting and hankering after things. Enjoy the now.
Just my opinion obvs

This is really getting annoying. I mean the UI question (where is it and when it's going to be released) poppin' up all the time in every rF2 thread. I'm racing in official rf2 endurance league and I need 3 or 5 (enable spectate mode) clicks to enter the server. I don't unerstand what seems to be the complicated, "not user friendly", part of current UI?
If I check into tuning menu, our team Porsche for sure doesn't look 20 years old, neither does the garage:

The issue is not the numbers of clicks. The ridiculous loading times, finding a specific official s397 car in the list, again awful loading time when you click on a car, it's just unbelievable and unacceptable.

I think the thing with the UI is it was initially due to be released ages ago & then people have since been waiting thinking it can't be too far off. The update about it still being some time away (when it initially filters through)should keep things quiet for a bit. Personally the UI does put my off using it on a regular basis (maybe because i'm in vr)but i don't mind waiting, would rather they didn't rush it & did a proper job.
New cars look really great, especially the Aston & will be picking up the new content even though i'm not so into gt3s.

It pays to read sometimes.
After the absolute fiasco that ISI pulled, I swore I was never buying anything additional for RF2.
I was pretty much done with it.
In my mind, I had spent enough, without getting a completed product...despite patiently waiting for what seemed like an eternity.
This morning...and only after a show of goodwill by S397 with their recent release of free content, I had a change of heart and purchased the GT Winter Bundle.
Had I come here and read this, I'd have waited.
The question now becomes, "will the folks who purchased the GT3 pack be able to purchase these additions at a decent price...or will we be hung out to dry?"
I would like that Audi, but I have to consider its cost relative to the pack.

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think map loading times are UI issue. Also tuning menu. Finding official car is very easy. If you want to find Porsche just search for starting letter P ;)

Which free content are you referring to exactly?
There have been many updates and many a content of little to no cash value given ex gratis. Or are you literally talking about the last few hours?

To me, for example, it's the selection of opponents in single player mode. It's very difficult to find cars that match - besides the GT3 and the GTE classes - because they appear with different names than in the car selection screen.

Edit: Pressing "p" doesn't help if the series starts with ALMS or something like that in the opponent selection box. Sector 3 has been showing how it has to be done. To me, R3E offers the most user-friendly and accessable opponent selection screen at the moment.

good to hear they're working on the ui, people started complaining the day the game was released some x years back. already at the time it looked eerily out of place. i will wait and see when news of a new ui appears here on rd and then finally give the game a second try if i also read that callibrating your g27 is not as akward as it was back in the day. glad i slipped over to the steam version on the last possible day :), so i still have this like an easter egg you never unpacked but you know will not get worse but better all the time.

Ok, so having received said content for free and also receiving updates along the way, you then had the choice, not the obligation, to pay a little for new content that you would like to use, yet you are begrudgingly doing so due to a post here?
I'm not sure I understand your issue entirely, sorry.
