KTM Release Official Free X-Bow GT4 Mod For Assetto Corsa

In a rather cool move, KTM have released a free mod for Assetto Corsa - bringing the officially licenced X-Bow GT4 to the simulation.

• New mod with official KTM licence.
• Developed with real data from the team.
• Available to download for free for Assetto Corsa.

Feels like its been a long time since I wrote some new news about Assetto Corsa, with game development having been completed following Kunos Simulazioni moving on to their latest project, Assetto Corsa Competizione. However, seeing as the original AC remains exceptionally popular within the sim racing community, even in the middle of 2020 we have new news - a brand new mod has been released, but with the official backing of the real world manufacturer!

Yes, GT4 fans have a new toy to enjoy in AC from today following this rather cool announcement - adding one of the more unique cars of the GT4 regulations to the olden, but still golden Assetto Corsa simulation.

We are partners from KTM. So they delivered the data, we made the car out of it. Then we did the test drives together with the KTM test driver.
And it was my idea to do that

Very strange, myself and others had no issues changing the skin previews, and there is no difference between the two versions (i mean they are the same version, just different download).

The one now on the direct link is different from the auto-downloaded by the installer this morning. It now includes working lods and your wiper animation plus updated wing animation file (also, ks style previews*).

*CM showroom made, not ksbuilderpreview+showroom.exe. That'd be interesting to find on a 100% ks release

Just download the zip linked above, and drag the ks_ktm_xbow_gt4 folder inside it to c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\content\cars or wherever your custom AC installation is.

It needs to install to your contents folder where the game is installed ...\steamapps\common\assettocorsa

Awesome stuff! As @garyjpaterson was involved, can we assume this is a carryover license from the ACC GT4 pack and uses the same 3D assets? If so, I'd love it if some of the other manufacturers could be persuaded to do the same

Looks great! Just took it for a spin and it's just as quirky to drive as it is to look at. Love it. This is going to become a staple in my fields, for sure. Might have to break out the paintbrushes soon...

A small request for the template; could you please include both the exterior and interior glass textures with wireframe? There's a lot of real estate on that clamshell!

Does anyone feel like this thing is way too fast? I did a 1.27.5 on Brands Hatch easily but real GT4 cars are doing 1.32.

I totally agree. My first lap at the small National Red Bull Ring was 3 seconds faster than with any other GT4 car I´ve driven. This KTM drives too good in my opinion. Doesn´t seem to have realistic specs.
Ahh, just read that is has 0 BOP. Well, then...
