Some nice shots from those 2 areas. Mercedes have some 'strakes' or what they are called at the rearwing endplate, too.

Well to be honest I was thinking would have been some what simpler was just a panel tear,
to keep it nice I had to change the smoothing groups all the way back on the chassis and even down on the floor also so took longer playing with smoothing groups than actually tearing the mesh apart,
either way I dont mind, if its torn and nasty and twisted and aggressive it gets the go from me,
some of this early stuff on our 2017 was just crazy ****, ill try and find something in my dev,
the guys held me back somewhat maybe for the best, ill hide this new cut though. :p

Well spent 1hr or so going over all the trailing edges on my barge boards and the turning vanes,
now all between 2 and 3mm where has before was more like 6mm so thanks to Gary,
the car is looking much sharper the finer details on the build paid off nicely going over them,
looks much better. :)

Where do you do this kind of pic? Looks so cool :)
CFD Software computation fluid dynamics, its really good for understanding the aero on the cars the high and low pressures around the car and how the parts interact with one another,
I done all the parts singular parts its easier to blast them with turbosmooth,
its nice for a visual view of how there working with each other, but mainly for getting data game models are useless, you need cad models to get accurate data as there sealed and correct and 100 times more smooth the chassis and stuff,

like that pic was only after a 5 second run, just too busy to keep it running specially on a full simulation run, takes hrs and the model will change so much after at least 1 solid run with it on full simulation but hammers the PC, ill leave it running later and see how it looks correctly. :)

please open up a setup topic for all the rss cars guys there is no setup to be found in the setup market.
make it official so owners of this great content can share some setups

maybe a setup page on the rss website that would be great

Hi Bob,
I think there is still some areas we can improve on for the future,
Discord community server, Online Servers, and setups if possible,

its something that has been discussed time to time, one of the main things currently is that we are just a really small team, @David Dominguez runs the website, and social media,
among talking to all the customers who send us emails through Sellfy and the website, regarding sending products back and so fourth, as well as doing the physics on all the cars and collecting data, and now hes fully inside this RF2 engine fine tuning our physics there, along with the articles and news letters, wip also structuring what cars we can maybe do or not do in the future,

we do fully understand that it would be ideal to do more in certain areas we really do,
but with the workload currently and the lack of manpower if you want to call it that, some things are just a lot to take on currently, but we do know and understand like I was saying,
there is some areas we can improve upon and at some point we can develop them more.

Im quite sure David eats spinach all day long and hes allergic to Kryptonite. :p

So anyways spent a few hrs tweeking the mesh in places and some smoothing here or there,
at some point in the next 24hrs need to just collapse all this turbo and just start optimizing and smoothing by hand and fix any small areas ect which there will be a few specially around the side pods I imagine where all the details and lines are pretty heavy,
but so far I like what we have,
I made the front wing with the flaps at this angle because currently there is 0 rake at all on the chassis,
but once we get the car ingame and start applying rake and settings will look much different with the new angles and such, its all 2019 spec what we have created.

Be nice to do some more under here, looking its not the greatest in terms of details,
I know its never hardly seen but Ferrariman likes to look at this stuff,
dont want to let the guy down do we. :p
lets shred some details into this puppy.

Interesting video here talking about the approach the teams have taken in regard to rake height. Mercedes seem to be the only team with a high rake and from the video I gather that is not the fastest in cornering. Would be interesting to hear the approach that was taken on the RSS F1 2019 Hybrid in this regard.

Well this morning I planned on playing around with the nose and cape,
the nose im quite happy with, the suspension and details will all want cutting into it at some point,
but pleased so far with what we have,
ill investigate this cape more and see what details there applying further back. :)

all still wants quite some cleaning and smoothing over and a few lines making more even central down the nose but nothing than wont take 20-30 minutes I imagine those finer parts. :)

ill try and do these hub covers later today.

Well this was quite tedious but pleasing knowing the results should look nice,
I welded the 1st top arm to the chassis, the rear part of the arm wants doing now but its prepped ill crack on with it after a coffee, but pleased with how it looks. :)

Nothing much to do here with stuff accept just keep applying your mind and keep hitting the details 1 after another after another and just stop when your arm dont move no more,
thing is with this stuff, we see what needs to be done, we know what needs to be done,
the trick is to keep motivation high and hit it again and again none stop for like 60hrs straight and call it a day. :D

Still quite some waste here, ill go over it again at the end and clean everything up before doing the UV,
but solid progress non the less. :)

ill proceed and hit the back out of this bottom arm,
makes life easier not been on the bend like the 1st front section on the top arm so should be much faster.
