Okay....My Method is loosely based on many people saying the default settings are rubbish (and indeed they are) but Nobody has really bothered with mentioning how rubbish the global settings are...So looking at them I realised that they firstly they don't make much sense and secondly what I did understand, I didn't like. (T300 BTW)
Global Settings
Set all to '0' except 'Tyre Force' Really ? yes really! they are all in a sense, modifiers. I wanted to see purely what was coming from the car.
My Tyre Force is set to 110
Overall FB is set to 80-85
Car Feedback Settings
My approach to this was simple leave FZ, FX, FY and MZ at 100, but turn the scale right down to '0'
Leave Smoothing, Body and SOP at default. Then I drove the car E30 Gr.A Yes, the feedback was very very light but the info was there and the strong centring had gone. I brought the Scale back to 10, to strong and the centring had come back. So essentially I settled on about 2-6, on the few cars I tried. It's a compromise until we can turn the Centring Spring off. Which we can't do even if it is off in the driver (mine in the TM driver is set to 'by wheel and at 0')
I then added these settings
Fx 130, Fy 120, Fz 130, Mz,140
I am now getting some decent information, which most importantly for me, ties in with the visual. I'm pretty sure some of you will disagree
I'm getting some nice elasticity in the wheel, I'm feeling some oscillation sensations that come from the undulations in the track, some centring but not overly concerning and enough rotation to tell me I'm oversteering etc. Brake locking is working well too.
I am still tweaking with FX,FZ, but once anything else gets much higher the Centring comes back. Then once settled I will apply that to all of the cars and leave it. Just move the Scale per car. It seems like a decent baseline anyway.
Work in progress but I drove the E30 at Oulton Park and while trying to get my daughter dressed and on my first lap with green tyres I was half second quicker than I had been before. I have applied this to a few cars and it's not half bad. It's no AC but, I'm getting somewhere. If you like heavy Feedback this isn't for you, it's fine in the Oreca and the LMP1 cars though. Anyways, as always FB is subjective, so hope this helps. I have had lots of swears to say about PCars, but after this, I am starting to calm down and enjoy it a bit.
