I'm a HUGE fan of AC but when I saw that they've built the career mode around events using the broken/stupid Time Attack Mode - I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

They've completely ignored the endless complaints we've made about Time Attack - it's utter and total nonsense as-is and needs to be either completely reworked or removed. They're in danger of reviewers getting completely stuck on one of the first challenges because it is - out of the box - impossible to do without cheating (and has been since it was a 'Challenge' in the earlier releases).

Seriously - if they go for 1.0 Full Release with the game in the state it's in now, they risk being a laughing stock - of having reviewers pointing out that the game should still be in Early Access etc. etc.

It can't be hard to fix it - just remove whatever arcane **** they have as a timing calculator and replace it with something which WORKS

Glad Kunos finally released v.1.0 & it is an impressive update....but (here i go) What about the very important night/day cycle, & the very important working headlights for sum fun racing after dark...still an impressive update, but.....

I was not able to play today :O_o:

Can you imagine, you wait for this release for 2 months, get almost crazy and then there is the game and you cant play it!? I had 2 friends here today so we played Fifa all day/night. Now they left at 3 am and I need to find some sleep now. Can´t wait to play tomorrow

Not a bad evening so :) I hope there were some beers too, and I think maybe something else... :)
Wasn't able to play it too, just a few laps alone with SLS GT3 than crashed a lot of times... Decided to redownload it, so 3.1gb at first and now 5.7gb ... With a barely 3.6mbps at an astonishing 370/390kbps :)...

I'm going to be hung for this. I read through all posts and think to myself how can I be disappointed with the AC RC.

The update is great and also very disappointing.

The sound is better and worse, no one can honestly say that is what a Lotus 98T sounds like. I can barely hear the engine... The 98T sounded way better before the RC. The T125 S1 sounds very strange too. Almost as if the sounds are behind the revs. Also better before RC.

The graphics, better in every way to me. Amazing detail. Kudos kunos.

Spa truly is incredible.

The physics feel completely different and not in a good way, but I can't figure out exactly what it is that bothers me yet. For the last year AC has blown my mind with how realistic it feels. This release feels like a step back in the physics department.

At first I had significant input lag and I've never experienced it before with AC. Tweaked my graphics settings and it got better but it's still there.

No new in car controls for 1.0 boo!

Features that exist but don't work at all in 1.0 (KERS, DRS) boo!

Career mode is a joke.

Night races and inclement weather would be great but it doesn't bother me that it is missing.

How can any of you actually be pleased with your purchase after this release??

All things aside I still think it's the best Sim available, but the gap isn't nearly as wide. In fact I think I'll be playing a lot more game stock car extreme.

For those of you who are loving this update did any of you do a clean install? I let it delete my AC folder, and did a backup beforehand. I'm wondering if I should do a clean install.

Try not to hate me too much.

Was suprised that it runs so smooth with a DK2 (45% GPU usage at max FPS) until I realised that they are just moving the vignette to achieve a 3D effect :D
left eye - right eye (image by thecharv)
Also head movement feels a bit exaggerated, but that might also be due to the missing 3D.

Still a nice update content-wise, wasn't expecting Spa so early :)

Which one is that? I've gotten gold or silver on all the time attacks so far, but I'm only up to N2. I know there was something about it forcing you to run faster every lap, instead of a set series of times to beat, but I haven't noticed it be a problem.

I am pretty happy with this so far, but I may blast the installation and have Steam rebuild it. I have some mods in it that I am not so sure work well and at times they freeze my computer.

For the sound, I am going to cut them some slack. They'll need time to fine tune it.

The New Corvette has no engine sound at all, but it drives well. But it's like driving the Tesla.
The damage I can do without for now. I got hit by the ai from behind, just a tap and I got this Amiga like low res spiderweb windshield crack. For a tiny tap?

I did a GT3 race and it was fun, but I got into a scrap at Eau Rouge and the car became undrivable. I think I'll turn damage off until it is better fine tuned.
