To me it sounds like it's lacking low frequency. I run 5.1 with a subwoofer directly behind my seat and it doesn't get excited at all.
Saying that, I see an above post suggests that 5.1 is not currently enabled, is this confirmed? If it is confirmed how are these other guys so impressed with the audio as it is?
if they are driving on modded tracks they have 5.1 sound .. or they`ve edited ini file and "fixed"it .. or they`re hearing what they wanna hear :)

Omg! Why do I have to be at work and have an endless supply of homework to get done. That stuff getting in the way of what's truly important!

So that one day you can have all the nice toys you want. Stick to what's important. AC will always be there in your free time. Hope all is well with you Saleem, haven't seen you online much but I see why now.

on Logitech 2.1 with subwoofer it sounds AMAZING ,,with dolby hometheatre the lower sounds get boosted too

on my 7.1 G35 headset it sounds awfull,,no bass sounds and too clear ,,but that headset is good for communicating online

All has been good. Been super busy with school, work and home life. I haven't turned a lap since sometime in August. Hope to get my assignments done tonight to be able to see what the new build is like. Maybe one of these Sunday nights I can squeeze a race in.

Miss racing with everyone, hope everyone is doing well.

you can make 5.1 work with editing audio_sources.ini (located in every track folder) ... change ENABLED to 0 (devs recommendation until fix) ...
Yeah, I read that also but it also says that it disables reverb (and other effects?). They mention that FMOD has a new SDK they still need to add in to the next release to enable 5.1 along with the features of FMOD they are using. So my assumption is just that not everything is as the developer intended yet and this could be a result of not fully integrating the FMOD SDK...

I can't help but feel these are related. I have an old Buttkicker (I don't use anymore) and it needed deep lows, the same signals sent to a sub (low frequency) to really come alive... There really isn't enough differentiation in sound in Stereo for a transducer to pull frequency from Stereo sound...

Ouverts suggestion could help you in this instance.

I actually felt like the rumble strips are a bit too deep, I have similar Logitech 2.1. Seems like a lot of the sounds are relatively narrow bands.
i still have the first one they made ,,wich is slightly better as the latest 2.1 system

i would have a big problem if it needs to be replaced,,because i cant get the same again ;)
i hope you have the older one too

Ha....fired up the work PC, checked to see if the RC was released, Have had to skive off home to get the download started.

(and all Logitech audio systems are horrible in every way possible)

I have the X-230 I think, their older cheapest-set with the 2 identical speakers on left & right Don't know what the new options are like.
the range was a bit better on the older one (Z-2300)compared to the newer one
so i didnt upgrade to that

manufacturer wrote " Z-2300 bass driver have more excursion capability that that Z-560 ones, maybe 10mm [estimated] where Z-560 ones have only 7mm. This is evident since Z-2300 ones have slightly longer & elongated stamped steel basket section between the spider & the magnet compared to Z-560 ones, providing the space for more excursions capability.

3) The cooling efficiency of the Z-2300 bass driver with its bigger vented pole piece is significantly higher than Z-560 ones.

The bass driver of Z-2300 with even higher excursion capability than Z-560 ones will definitely offer better sensitivity & accuracy not to mention the ability to handle more power over its rated input power with better cooling efficiency.Later I found out that Z-2300, Z-2200 & Z-680 all used this new driver "

That's simply not true. Among what's currently available from Logitech and not talking about past products, the Z623 and Z906 are both outstanding products for PC use.
