Seemingly coming out of nowhere, Kunos Simulazioni have confirmed the highly anticipated Ferrari 70th Anniversary Assetto Corsa DLC is on its way, releasing this September 19th!

Created to mark the 70th anniversary of the Ferrari brand, the new Assetto Corsa DLC offering will contain some of the most iconic road and racing machines produced by the legendary marque, including plenty of historic content and the 2017 specification Formula One car that currently sits second in the Formula One World Drivers Championship.

As a reminder you can check out the Ferrari Celebration Pack DLC contents below:
  • 1962 250 GTO
  • 1967 330 P4
  • 1967 312/67
  • 1984 288 GTO
  • 2004 F2004
  • 2017 812 Superfast
  • Ferrari SF70H 2017 F1 Car

With Kunos having confirmed the new DLC is just seven days away from a public release on PC (Xbox One and PS4 to follow at a later date), the Italian development team have released a nice new trailer for one of the most spectacular cars included in the pack, the stunning 1962 issue Ferrari 250 GTO, which can be viewed below:

Introducing the Ferrari 250 GTO... The 250 GTO model was the pinnacle of the development of the 250 GT series in competition form, whilst still remaining a road car. It made its public debut at the annual pre-season Ferrari press conference in January 1962, and was the only front-engined model on display, with its monoposto and sports racing counterparts all having a mid-engine configuration. The 250 GTO was the ultimate expression of the Ferrari 250 GT car. It was equally at home on the road or track – perhaps the last dual purpose road/race car produced – and has achieved legendary status amongst aficionados of the marque. With only a relatively small production run of thirty-six cars, and with many of the examples produced having a great racing pedigree, it has become one of the icons of Ferrari's production history, with a revered position in collectors' circles.

Assetto Corsa is a racing simulation from Kunos Simulazioni available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

GPL comes back to town...:whistling:

Can`t wait to push the 312 around the Nord or the Monza Classic tracks and watching the replays just to listen to the engines V12 symphonic sounds. I think i put the "Grand Prix" movie in the player to shorten the time for release.;)

A classic prototype and F1 dlc would be cool, with cars like the Honda RA 300 (the famous V12 "Hondola") the 16 cylinder H16 BRM, Eagle Weslake, the Brabham Repco, Ferrari 512M(perhaps also the Can Am 612 Spyder) Mclaren M7F(the 917/30 needs a friend..) and some others ..

Wow, these complainers about cars, tracks and whatever else in Corsa. 10 years ago, sitting at a 22" monitor with a £30 wheel and 2.1 speakers I would have given some private parts of my body for what we have today in Corsa and other sims. I have invested in a motion platform, t500rs wheel set, ultimate GT rig, buttkickers, 5.1 sound and an Oculus rift cv1. I`m a pensioner and sims are my main hobby, others will spend on other things, whatever floats your boat. With my kit I can make Corsa come to life as a real sim and I never forget things as they were 10 years ago. I will be buying the latest dlc as I have bought all the others and enjoy driving those cars in the sim on Kunos tracks and yes the many and varied modders tracks and cars. some good and some not so good. I will also buy Project cars 2 and have fun with that sim never forgetting how lucky I am to have had access to this current level of technology before I depart this mortal coil. Message is, have fun with what you`ve got, expect more and be chuffed if you get it and take your hats off to the genius`s that give us the programs and mods for this wonderful hobby. OK flamers off you go.

Italo-centric? What about the 25 Porsche or the Lotus cars?
They have been in the game for years!!!

I always get hate when posting in AC forums here, because simply put I love the game, play it every day, but the DLC is hardly used anywhere in the areas I play. So I comment on not being likely to download it and the motivations behind Kunos doing so?

You might get the odd Prsche server or the odd race at Donington or Le Mans, but the vast majority of content you see online is standard fare.

The last few downloads have not catered for that. I thought the race ready one would actually, but I think until it comes out cheap it will not get used much. Saw a few TT servers, but that car should have been free, the rest paid.

There are differences in people sure, I rarely drive offline unless I want to work out why I can't lap a car anywhere near a baseline lap-time or why aliens are 5 seconds a lap faster than me at Spa rather than the 2 or 3 I am happy with.

So classic car DLC for me is something I will not download, as I will never use it. It looks pretty, but that's about it. Great for leagues and stuff here, but I don't do that either.

And I am fairly sure if you polled the AC community as a whole, the split would be 50/50

And if you releasing content that only half your players are interested in, that to me is pretty dumb.

Would it happen in other games?

Oh, and saying 90% of players only play offline sounds rather interesting, how can you prove that? Steam stats!! Lol, ave a word

Cool story. I just said that the Italo-centric style of releasing content is wrong :)

The game is fairly clearly Italian. No complaint, but for me quite obvious.

There are a lot of Italian tracks, including Trento Bondone. They have clearly dealt with MSV, yet we just get Brands, why no Snett and Oulton? Hardly any American tracks. I know it about time and mapping etc, but there has not been a track for a long time now.

A lot of very similar Alfa's and FIATS, lots of Ferrari's and the usual smattering of Maserati, Zonda, Lambo. Shocked actually with no Lancia. And some manufacturers are better represented than others, eg lot of Porsche and BMW, but less Merc, no VW, no Ford really and very little GM and Dodge.

I know it's all linked to licencing, but if you have paid for Opel, Merc, Ford, why none of their great cars, just a few, yet lots of crappy Alfa's and samey Porsches?

Must be reasons and not a complaint, just an observation

Err

Shocking news, a company called Abarth are making Fiats under licence but calling them Abarths. They look the same, sound the same, they even made an exact replica of the 60's version.

But we must not call them FIATS<, Oh no, or it might confuse people in forums who try to get cheap laughs.
