I don't think so (Yellow IMO is the right card), he was irritated at least 4 times by Palacios (who also seen Yellow at the time)
After you edited the post, I agree with your point that the refs have made some unusual decisions in the early matches
Kicking is punished with a red card according to the rulebook.
