rFactor 2 Christmas DLC Completed With Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992)

After the recent announcement of a Christmas pack coming to rFactor 2, the 2nd car for the pack was announced. Introducing the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992).

Indeed a surprise for anyone, but a pleasant one. This newest generation of the Porsche GT3 Cup leaves little to be desired regarding the level of racing.

Already known from other games, though in older variants, Porsche Cup racing always lends to close grids. It allows for close racing, and finally, being able to race it for rFactor 2 lends to so many possibilities.

With the modding capabilities of the sim, you can soon race one of the most interesting one-make series on just about any track that has been digitally created.

But the Pork is not all that has been announced in the meanwhile:

BTCC 2022 Update and BOP Are Also Coming + Hybrid system later?

The 2022 liveries and BOP are coming. Okay. Moving on.

Arguably the biggest announcement in the BTCC 2022 post was the TOCA Hybrid which would be coming in Q1 of 2023.

Studio 397 announced in the post that a full-on hybrid functionality was in development and (hopefully) ready to deploy for the Q1 2023 update. This allows all hybrid fans to rejoice! All the possibilities that come to mind...

On the top of my personal list would be the development of further LMH cars with their hybrid system.

But enough of that. Are you looking forward to the Christmas DLC? And what do you think rFactor 2 will do with the hybrid system? Let us know in the comments below!

I prefer AMS2 way of things: buy a pack and it might get more added to it later, as more content is completed. If I could buy Formula E, IndyCar or BTCC in a pack that will gradually be added too later to complete the series, then great! If I buy a pack now and then several more tracks etc are added later (but only for new purchasers) and I have to buy them piecemeal separately (as an existing owner) it gets confusing and expensive.

I like to have all the cars but I just find it confusing working out what I have, what was original what is skins I've modded, whether I'm buying the same car twice if I buy a pack, which cars should be in a series and what version of the car I need (and whether I have it or not).

I'd like it to be easier to organise and clearer. I'm not buying a sim for that mess, I want to race a car on a track with other cars which it should be racing with. With RF2, I spend too much time with pen and paper and by the time I get to racing I can't be bothered :D That's why I'd like the developer to make it easier.
Doesn't the store page in-sim show you exactly what you have and don't have?

Yes it does.

Thing I don't like it puts what you don't have at the top of all headings, I don't want Kart Sim, no biggie ;)

I did NOT definitively state it is made by URD.
I simply asked a question as to if it was.
Looked similar...hence the question.

Not sure if mentioned, but spotted this too!

Early warning notice

On Wednesday, December 21st, as part of the Q4 2022 Bonus Pack release, the following content will be subject to a new update:
Tracks
- Bahrain
- Laguna Seca
- Daytona
- Sebring
- Nordschleife
- Circuit Azur
- Botniaring
Cars
- All BTCC
- Vanwall
- Caterham

I will never ever invest anything in rf2. The pricing is high, the value is low. And: I don't like the FFB. AMS2 is way better and runs flawless while it can takes hours and days to weeks to get this software from former S397 running. With more than 800 hours in it today I would not recommend to buy anything of this program.

Out of purely curiousity, where do you see such information?

Yes it does. I bought some individual cars and some in packs. In store, some cars are in packs, some packs have been amalgamated or added to, some new cars have been released which could race with cars I have - which are in new packs and so on.

If I buy a pack and own a car in it, will I get the money off? Why sin't this clear? I get it, with a bit of time and patience etc but I'm paying so meet me half way is all I'm saying. I can't be the only one. Honestly I've spent so long playing rF2, I love the driving but I shudder think how many hours I've wasted not driving. as a company rule 1 is make it easy for customers to buy from you.

iRacing, Raceroom and ACC are for me better than AMS2 about the realism....with AMS2, it just means you like simcade like Project cars2. Can you try Forza 7, maybe you will like it.

800 hours and you don't like it ? Ok, there are people for anything

I used to be an ardent supporter until I overslept and missed the sales window - I didn't mind the price unless they're on sales (because what kind of idiots pay full price? Idiot stans?) but this pricing scheme simply puts people's loyality to the test

Do S397 think everybody will go out and pay full price on its first day? Do they think people who prefer to wait until the bargain season has arrived, exists? Posts like this makes me think why should we pay for such content, knowing we will be left with duplicates.

From experiences, I used to buy CDs and know what is it like to have your loyality tested like this when record labels releases 'special edition' months after you put your loyality to your favourite bands.

Game devs should know consumers aren't as idiotic as k-pop stans - game devs, no matter how overpaid they are like those playing in EPL, IMO, are so deserving of the **** they receive - we should throw abuse to them because its part of their unwritten job description

TL:DR
Will posts like this make me pay? No
Will posts like this make me post here to tell admins on this site and game devs to GFY? Yes

Discord and facebook, two places I don't frequent. He was correct, several updated items in addition to the two cars and the skins.
Funny that, seeing as it was posted directly by the devs... :whistling::roflmao:

Sadly there does seem to be no window graphics for Tom Chilton's 2021 livery and there is still a bit of a kerb roll issue, but seems otherwise fine so far!
