Automobilista 2 DLC Guide

Automobilista-2-DLC-Guide-Header.jpg
Automobilista 2 features an enormous amount of content in its base version already, but even more exciting cars and tracks have been added via DLC later on. These have been split into several packs, which are even bundled in some instances, so sim racers can easily lose sight of what to get if they want specific content. Our AMS2 DLC Guide is here to help.

As of January 2024, the list of DLC extends to 21 entries, with some of the packs overlapping with others on what they offer - the fact that some of the descriptions on Steam are a bit outdated does not help, either. So what to get?

If you want every bit of additional content, there are two new bundles that achieve just that. As of the release of v1.5.5.2 on January 20, the All-Inclusive bundles will allow players access to every piece of DLC released at the time of purchase at a 15% discount. This discount also applies to future DLC.

The "standard" All-Inclusive Bundle is aimed at new players or anyone who owns the Premium Expansion Pack or Premium Track Pack. Should you own these or any other items in the bundle already, your price will drop accordingly.

Automobilista 2 All-Inclusive Bundle - Contents

  • Automobilista 2
  • Premium Track Pack
  • Premium Expansion Packs
  • Historical Track Pack Pt. 2
  • Formula HiTech
  • Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans
  • Endurance Pack Pt. 1

Similarly, the All-Inclusive Bundle for SP Owners is for those who already own the Season Pass. This bundle includes the Season Pass and every DLC that is not covered by it. If you own the Pass or any other items already, your price will also be reduced accordingly.

Automobilista 2 All-Inclusive Bundle for SP Owners - Contents

  • Automobilista 2
  • 2020-2022 Season Pass
  • Formula HiTech
  • Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans
  • Endurance Pack Pt. 1
  • Historical Track Pack Pt. 2

Previously, the Season Pass was the one-size-fits-all solution. However, starting with the release of the Formula HiTech and Historical Track Pack Pt. 2 DLC in November of 2023, the Pass did not cover all available DLC any longer. Find the items included in the Season Pass below!

Automobilista 2 - Season Pass 2020-2022 - Contents

  • Adrenaline Pack Pt 1
  • Adrenaline Pack Pt 2 (not yet released)
  • Brazilian Racing Legends Pack Pt 1
  • Historical Track Pack Pt 1 (Cascais/Estoril 1988, Jerez 1988, Bathurst 1983)
  • Premium Track Pack (Catalunya, Hockenheim, Monza, Nürburgring, Silverstone, Spa-Francorchamps)
  • Racin' USA Full Expansion Packs (Parts 1, 2, 3) - including Pt. 4 once released
  • Supercars Pack Pt 1

AMS2 DLC not included in Season Pass

  • Endurance Pack Pt. 1
  • Formula HiTech
  • Historical Track Pack Pt 2
  • Le Mans

As both the Season Pass and All-Inclusive options pack a punch but are also priced accordingly, other packs or even individual DLC might make more sense for some sim racers. Check out the different packs below to see what they include and which one fits you! Also remember AMS2's convenient online feature that allows you to race even on tracks you do not own as long as the server host does.

Note: All tracks included in the Premium Track Pack can also be bought separately!

MP broken?? :roflmao:
Where to start...

More lag than any other Motorsports title...

The p2p side has constant statistical errors which forces leagues onto the archaic dedicated system...

Where that lag is doubled or trippled on a dedicated server and the pings are not representative... As a ping of 125ms can warp all over the track like a 600ms ping would on a p2p lobby... Even when the host is connected to the server in the same room as them...

Constant mass disconnects since 1.48 where more than 5 people are disconnected at the same point of the race... All of whom are perfectly connected on discord throughout the disconnect...

Pit stop issues where people do not get the tyres they asked for even with a fully set up and saved pit strategy... This could also be an issue offline...

But the biggest issue is the track state consistency, which after talking with various league admins has been around since the WMD days of the original pCARS... Some drivers will be 10 seconds or more off the pace due to their version of the track being wet whilst others have a dry track...

The track state differences can happen mid session or during a session changeover... Usually it's fixed by having a pit stop and changing to another set of slick tyres... As in going from slicks to a new set of slicks and suddenly those drivers will have found that 10 plus seconds... Ok for a track day or during practice or early in a qualy session... But when that happens after a session changeover it'll ruin someone's race and on a lot of tracks they'll be a lap down...

Nobody's ever online on pubs in AMS2, which is a huge problem. Not only that, league races generally use dedicated servers, which are in a terrible state and have been since EA launch.

All three of the leagues I'm in use dedis for AMS2 and always have one or two hilarous spaz-outs a race, leading to major incidents (myself included, most recently when everyone saw glitching cars into T1 at Auto Club). It can even be as bad as having "ghost" versions of other drivers just run into you from a spaz-out for no reason.

And the worst part is, Reiza openly on the forums point the finger at the users (!), despite the fact that AC and ACC races in these leagues go off without a single hitch and run flawlessly from start to finish. We've tried everything - from changing server location, to running it on powerful hardware/on its own separate PC, even at its own location/IP address. Nothing. The reality is that the online connectivity flat-out sucks.

And that's a disappointment considering I spent 120 dollars total on this game, and they're now asking for 100 more for "all future content", which ostensibly includes the WEC content they've been playing up on the forums. I'll be honest - I'd rather not pay any more money, and that they'd at least take steps to fix the game I paid for, so it becomes a viable online racer. It's still a good time solo, the FFB is quite tight and on par or better than the original AC, and the physics are steadily improving further (though still not perfect by any means and the standard setups are still absolute bin juice), but not enough has been done to address the major issues with the game.

I was an early backer, as stated earlier in this post, and I almost certainly won't be buying this new, very expensive nebulous "pass". I was very high on this game a few years ago and its potential, but I drive AC probably at a 10:1 ratio to AMS2 nowadays.
real early backers (beta) got the lifetime pass !
Either you were not early or you tell nonsense

Servers got a bit more stable now. My server is located in center Europe and i had a session with 21 drivers , most from Brasil, w/o any flaws.
Its true, servers are empty. But this is dependend on many just whining users, that always search for populated servers instead of setting up a session.

The session mentioned above was planned for training for a league event and i started with one of my friends (60 P/10 Q / 10 laps)
After 30 minutes the server was full and it was a great race then.

Conclusion: its on you :)

  • Premium Track Pack (Catalunya, Hockenheim, Monza, Nürburgring, Silverstone, Spa-Francorchamps)
Is Catalunya only available in the premium pack? I already have all the other tracks, so buying the premium track pack just for that track at this point in time is not very appealing to me.

The premium tracks are available separately as well, so you can complete the collection without buying the pack. Though it might be worth checking if Steam gives you a discount for the tracks you already own so it would be cheaper than buying Catalunya as a standalone. Not sure if that's the case for AMS2, but I had it happen in other titles :)

A nice DLC guide.

Personally, I am not a big F1/Indy fan, so a lot of the DLC's released to this point haven't really interested me.
I usually wait for a sale and grab the tracks I like for 50-75% off.

So far, only two of the DLC's tweaked my interest but in one way or another have let me down.

USA pt 1 I was hoping to create a custom IMSA like season with the DPI/GTE/P3 but the game doesn't support multi class scoring in the custom championship....yet it's available in all the other modes?
So I am stuck running one and done events.

Adrenaline Pack, re-ignited my interest....than killed it just as quick, besides the two Brazilian tracks the other 3 were boring, the cars felt odd at the time(I haven't checked after the recent update) along with audio bugs and terrible AI.
On the upside they fixed the MP side and allowed users to join in practice unlike PC2, sadly you rarely see a RX server.

Curious about the Adrenaline pack pt. 2

I credit Reiza for all there hard work and how the cars now handle after the latest update.
I just wish there was a away to take that work and put it into PC2 with all that great content.

The track is currently on sale for 50% off in steam and can be bought separately.

It's got an enormous amount of content...

But an enormous amount of bugs still...

The physics have matured to the point that it feels as good as anything else on the market...

But it's just a hot lap simulator in it's current form...

MP is broken, either you go with the statistical nightmares of the p2p side or the ghost contact on the dedicated servers where the predictions are that bad that one car can be punted off the road and the other car suffers zero damage...

The track state isn't the same for everyone online, some will have a drying line with some corners completely dry from white line to white line whilst others have a soaked track...

And the single player side is not in too much better shape with the AI having different fuel, tyre and damage physics that have yet to be tuned to the player side physics for a believable race.. They can think around the player and a believable sprint race can be had with the damage off... But for longer races you are left wanting to turn the fuel use and tyre wear off as well...

There's a few other game breaking bugs like the set up bug that gives the car settings from outside of the params set in the physics files causing the car to drive terribly... And a force feedback/settings bug that requires a deletion of certain folders or a complete reinstall...

Content is great and all but this title is at risk of falling into the same niche as the predecessors on the Madness engine... Content rich but too filled with bugs for the average sim racer to enjoy it...

I really wish Reiza would just finish the season pass content and get bug fixing... Give AMS2 an MP experience that doesn't remind people of their time on dial up and fix these game breaking bugs...

They'd make far more money with a working title...

A time when I was positive about the experience...

The engine is very very much a lemon that ruins the good work Reiza put into it...

MP is far worse than I stated above, the weather is scripted by each individuals PC online... Leading to many moments when you ask

"Hey did you have a crash why are you so slow?"
"No it's pouring with rain how are you so fast?"
"It's bone dry for me"

Good thing they are aiming to be a strong contender for the best single player experience for the immediate future, which is great as the majority of people prefer the single player ecosystem.

And for those that are all about the multiplayer there is iRacing.

A win-win situation, both parties have something to be happy about. Both platforms have their strengths, and no single platform will be everything for everyone.

Apart from AC, which going by the latest polls is an unstoppable monster.

Yes, AC is a huge monster.
A monster of mods that couldn't be more different.
Everything AC is built on is the modders. Without modders, the actual AC would just be a marginal designation on some concrete block.
In addition, there are now so many mods that the overview has been completely lost.
Does this route work with my CM version?
Oh, the modder doesn't patch the race track to adapt it to the new functions.
Great in the rain when the track doesn't get wet.
What about SOL & PURE?
If you don't want to drive online, you can compete against an AI that doesn't stop at the start or turn straight into the pit wall. If an AI was implemented.
Which vehicle package is now the “most realistic”?
VRC, RSS or even from a completely unknown modder?
Ohh, a new GT3. Except that this GT3 is faster, drives like it's on rails and also comes with a bunch of other files that you can only remove if you installed everything by hand.
Why wasn't attention paid to the bop again?
Oh well, the modder simply took the physics of a formula car, changed it slightly and the useless vehicle is ready.
Why do I have a black sky?
Oh, there was another update from a third party.
No friends, AC is so confusing that if you haven't been there from the beginning it's very difficult to get the really best mods.
I don't want to start with all the "my shader brings the best real-life graphics" modders now. If you're not careful, nothing will work after installing a mod.
Furthermore, anyone who denies this, excuses my choice of words, is lying.
Nobody drives what feels like 1,000 race tracks.
Of these race tracks, easily 50% are in the preliminary stage of version 1 and will never be patched or further developed again.
Mass doesn't necessarily mean it's better.
After years of AC driving, I prefer to have a small but top-class selection of race tracks and vehicles.
Never thought I would switch from AC.
Who can say whether the M1, the F1 vehicles and all the others are simulated correctly.
We are talking about a product for the mass market.
So also the couch driver with a gamepad.
Nobody assumes that this game behaves like a simulator in a motorsport workshop that uses it to roughly set up their vehicles over a weekend.
In addition, starting VR in AMS2 is as easy as heating up pasta water.
Turn on the computer, activate and put on VR glasses, select AMS2 in the Steam VR menu and let's start having fun.
In AC I can only dream of a start like that.
This is not an I hate this or that.
But to me personally it looks exactly as I described it.
I only turn on the AC when we want to hold another race on the '67 LeMans racetrack including the Bugatti variant.
As soon as Reiza releases these tracks for AMS2, I'll be completely done with AC.
Add to that the Porsche 917k, 906 or the Ferrari 330P and I would be in sim heaven.

Why can't you have both single and multiplayer in one game ?? I was playing iracing for a year and half, had my fill, instead i play AMS2 in league racing twice a week and having a blast and have zero reasons to go back to iRacing with their terrible subscription model.

Also i hope that AMS2 will actually have good AI at some point because compared to certain games people do not like when praised with their AI, the one in AMS2 is really dreadful and leaves a lot to be desired, issues like the AI in AMS2 will never:
- defend the inside lane when approaching a corner
- move lanes on a straight to possibly block an advance of the player / other AI drivers
- risk an overtake unless it is 125% clear to do so
- keep on following the driver ahead in a draft to gain speed

Kind of disappointing that there's no historic Le Mans yet. Then again, we need a lot more cars for it too. Hoping for 1969/1970 WSC, Group 5 (like what we had in PCars 2 or RRRE), Group 6 and more Group C/IMSA GTP era stuff.

Definitely plenty of room for AI improvement, but my experience in the latest update differs from yours on the last couple points. With skill at 95-100 and aggression on max, I've had the AI being aggressive as all get out and launching ballsy sends down the inside and even around the outside in the handful of full races I've been able get under my belt running mutliclass with the new GT3g2 and LMDh cars. I would even describe the LMDh AI as mildly suicidal in the rain.

Not looking to refute the fact that there's ample work ahead of Reiza to get the AI feeling more human like, but I've seen them get pretty loose with their overtake decisions on Monza, Watkins Glen Inner, Daytona Road and Ibarra. They definitely seemed a little too hesitant with max aggression on the sprint race I got in at VIR.

I haven't had an iRacing sub for many years, have only heard their AI is relatively impressive these days. Outside of that, the only other AI I've encountered that surprised me with decent racing is in rF2 and F1 '23. Unfortunately I find it harder and harder to bring myself to jump into F1 '23 to appreciate said AI though, so that leaves rF2 which still has its AI shortcomings, depending on the car and track combo used.

I'm realizing that I'm missing a lot of AMS2 DLC I didn't know about. I thought I was covered by the Season Pass.
At the same time, I still have those +/- 350 €.

I think it was on a GP Laps video but I recall someone saying that setting max aggression actually screws up how the cars are differentiated through the field. Every car goes to Max aggression rather than it being defined on a per driver basis.

Not sure If you're running qualifying but it's always worth doing 10 or 15 minutes at least so the field shakes out a bit. I tend to leave the difficulty at 100% and up if it I have to. I don't move it below 100% I just accept that in some scenarios I will be further down the field. It's just a bit of a pain the 100% isn't consistent across cars and tracks but that's a problem all the sims have had. The AI has progressed a lot though so hopefully they will keep chipping away at improving it.

tried ams2 with its latest content for some hours the other day when it was available to all, and i have to say it has come a long way, i enjoyed myself.
but i am currently committed to iRacing as far as online racing goes and dont have time for other racing game currently, so its unfortunate but i cant make space for AMS2 as a regular game i play. But i honestly think it felt great to drive and looks gorgeous.

Always do a qualifying, only sometimes cut the practice session short. Noted on the aggression, will try throttling back to high if I can get some rig time in this weekend and see if I notice any substantial difference in behavior. Skill is definitely a class and track type setting, I find 90%-100% is usually a decent zone for most combinations, very occasionally have to throttle back to 85% on some of the older cars to keep them from going Mad Max on some tracks.

I'm quite puzzled after going through the initial post and subsequent pages; this discussion is supposed to be about DLC.

Any discussions related to the Physics Madness engine or any other concerns tied to the title should be shared in a different post.

I doubt Racedepartment charges for creating new posts, so repeatedly encountering the same grievances makes me question whether some individuals are dealing with mental issues and are using this platform to vent their frustrations.

There are issues ...Yes! So say your piece and move on rather than continuously saying the same thing on every AMS2 thread.

an article from Jul this year, now regurgitated for the second time. Paul where are you? it all went downhill after you left!

And have you tried the cars with the new 1.5 physics? This same old tired criticism is getting old especially from those who haven't played it in a very long time or give if 10 minutes and say well it doesn't feel exactly like (insert your favorite sim) so it must be bad.
Nah the criticism is still real. it feels ok in its own right, but then you try the same car and track in assetto corsa and then ams2 feels like it is a decade behind in realistic driving feel.
