Reiza Studios have released their Automobilista 2 December Development Update. In it, you can read all about what is coming up for the racing sim. We'll briefly go over the main points here.

Updates on Upcoming DLC

6 packs of DLC have been announced to still release for the 2020-2022 season pass. Their release dates have been pushed as seen below.
  • Supercars Pt 1 - December 2022
  • Brazilian Racing Legends Pt 1 - December 2022
  • Historic Track Pack Pt 1 - December 2022
  • Nürburgring Historic 1971 - January 2023
  • Adrenaline Pack Pt1 - Q1 2023
  • 6th Premium Track - Q1 2023
  • Racin´ USA Bonus Pack - Q2 2023
If you have already purchased the 2020-2022 season pass, all these pieces of content will be available to you without any problem, despite the fact some of them will be released in 2023 only.

Supercars Pt1 DLC Overview

The Supercars Pt1 DLC will include the road-going versions of 3 modern supercars.
  • Corvette C8 Z06
  • McLaren Senna
  • Brabham BT62
Especially the Brabham is intriguing to me, even though those cars can presumably only competitively be driven in one-make races.

Brazilian Racing Legends DLC Overview

Brazilian Racing Legends will include several cars in which Brazilian racers had some fortune.
  • Brabham BT49 Cosworth V8
  • Brabham BT52 BMW I4 Turbo
  • Lotus 98T Renault V6 Turbo
  • McLaren MP4/4 Honda V6 Turbo
  • McLaren MP4/5B Honda V10
  • McLaren MP4/6 Honda V12
This pack includes exclusively open-wheelers, so fans of those may rejoice!

Historic Track Pack Pt 1 DLC Overview

Some classic race tracks will be making their way to AMS2 this month still.
  • Cascais 1988
  • Jerez 1988
  • Bathurst 1983
We'll cover the other DLC once they get to release.

AMS 2 Welcomes Nissan into its Family

Furthermore, Nissan will be making its debut in AMS2 soon. The following cars will be available.
  • Nissan R89C Group C
  • Nissan R390 GT1
  • 2017 Nissan GT-R GT3
The inclusion of Nissan in AMS2 is one that was severely missed. However, this has now been reverted with license agreements finally coming around!

Updates on Further Game Developments

Not only the content received some attention in this December Update.
Here's a list of things Reiza Studios has been working on:
  • Adjust Pit Speed Limit - users will be able to adjust that based on their own preferences, between 60 and 100 km/h.
  • Motorsport Presets - Don't worry, this one got nothing to do with another company named Motorsport. This setting is to select race rule presets based on several IRL series.
  • Physics - The flood of classic content apparently requires some physics adjustments that need to be worked into AMS2's code.
  • Force Feedback - This also needs adjustment to work with the classic content.
  • New Cockpit Display Functionalities - Several inclusions like TC and ABS being visible on the dashboard.
  • AI Developments - New cars and tracks cannot come without adjustments to AI.
Now, there are also plans for other things to edit. Here's a list of the todo's on Reizas agenda:
  • Multiplayer - This will receive some work, apparently Reiza have found out much stuff about that and are confident they can make improvements in 2023.
  • Content - A new DLC has been teased, the "Adrenaline Pack DLC" will be worked on, featuring dirt oval and rallycross racing.
  • Some sort of Endurance Racing content. Will we get yet another sim racing competitor in the race for WEC/IMSA racing?
  • Modding Support - Or at least making modding and installing mods easier. Make sure to keep an eye out on the AMS2 Modding Database here on RD for current and future community generated content.
  • Career Mode is also apparently being worked on with a targeted 2023 release.
This concludes the comprehensive list of updates from this December blog post.

Of course, this is only a roundup. You can read the full thing in all its glory here.

What do you think of this massive list? Looking forward to what AMS2 has in stock? Let us know in the comments down below!

Reiza is in my opinion one of the best, if not THE best, studios in implementing in a very timely fashion diverse ideas, also at top quality and at reasonable prices. And communicating their developments well and regularly. Others seem to take ages to bring developments to fruition! Hoping for modern versions of Mugello, Istanbul and the old 8km Charade track from AM2, since others take ages in delivering.

Damn, i bought the game as an early backer and i almost feel like im stealing at this stage, the amount of content they seem to keep adding to the season pass :O. So refreshing to see a studio working hard, constantly updating and not being greedy. Reiza are officially my favourte studio and i will throw my wallet at them whatever they release in the future!.

@Renato Simioni announcer when it comes to DLC delays: „I can live with that, and you should all learn to as well.“ (AMS2 forum)

I really don t wanna learn any thing from you! This repetitious behaviour will be stored in the „Brazilian-time“ shelves.
Not sure why you are trying to troll, but to put the sentence into context it refers to the developer's log issued in delay compared to a twitter announce. The developer's log is not an obligation towards you. It's a courtesy. :D

I honestly don't understand any negative comment about "delays". Reiza has delivered more than any other sim racing developer in the last two years. The amount is insane, even so much free content as dlc content. Of course in business / development not everything always goes exactly as planned because it's all humans work. Some people can get sick, wars happen in the world licenses have to be agreed on etc.etc. it can always cause delays. But in the end Reiza always delivers again and again.

This was about dev updates, not DLCs. This is intentional misinforming and I'm reporting it as such. AMS2 has enough bad press from people who don't care, to add this on top of it.

…. DLC s and dev-Updates were both delayed the last years - it s the „Brazilian- time way„ I don t care. about it.

Not at all. The conversation was on dev updates and the fact that they are not an obligation. You took the conversation out of context trying to give it a different meaning.

Did you pay your DLC already - e.g. via season pass? Did you get your DLC completely? Guess NO in spite of splendid announcements. Also the DLC delays are obvious - I don t care but it s a fact and measured in „Brazilian-time“ and Caipi

Reiza knocked this one out of the park...

Aside from glaring MP issues that will hold this sim back until fixed, and the ever present Madness engine set up bug where weird things happen in the physics and force a reset to default set ups, AMS2 is either on par or better than the competition...

The feel between car and driver is epic and is close to what Reiza want so it's time they start focussing on quality of life fixes... And until you add other cars to the track it's an absolute joy of an experience...

Sadly that's the big issue with AMS2... Works fine with certain cars and tracks, but there's a load of combinations where the AI just doesn't overtake another AI, takes bad lines and various other oval related AI bugs... Adding cars to AMS2's sad p2p multiplayer over around 8 cars is just asking for warps and other poor prediction issues that stem directly from the p2p structure... Sadly that structure doesn't seem to be going anywhere, but there's only so many ideas Reiza can throw at it before they realise they have to start with a new online structure...

Having 1983 Bathurst is a boon and is something that is sorely missed in the sim racing world... Bathurst without the chase in a fully supported version from a development team... I can't wait...

Nissan, more classic F1 cars and the Green Hell coming next month... This is what end of year content drops should be...

e.g.

thx and an elegant "cool down" post

I am willing to sacrifice every new track, car, series, livery and AI improvement for a replay system that can be used in single player, practice mode. Without having to drive backwards into the pits, getting DQ'd and then being able to see the entire run.

Some things should have been left behind in Project Cars 2.

Will there be an option to have no pit speed limit at all, eg. for historic stuff?
I can't tell you for sure at this point if there is the option of unlimited - but there will be at least a choice of very high speed limit.

You must be aware that it means AI also needs to deal with it and it may require some compromises at tracks like Brands Hatch with its kink in pit exit and entry depending on the car type you chose.
