Automobilista 2 | 'Biggest Update Yet' Coming Soon

Automobilista 2 August 2022 Update 01.jpg
Reiza Studios has released their August development update for Automobilista 2 and shared some exciting plans for upcoming content and physics updates.

The newly released Automobilista 2 August, 2022 development update has brought some exciting news for players.

Originally scheduled for release at the end of July, the significant 1.4 game update is now scheduled for release at the end of August.

The 1.4 update seems to be intended as a baseline for physics in the title to allow Reiza to more easily publish future content, user interface features and gameplay modes.

Outside of the new baseline for AMS2, August will also see the sim receive some interesting new content, including the highly anticipated Racin´ USA Pt3 DLC. The third installment of this DLC will include a 2022 edition of Formula USA (Indycar), plus oval configurations of cars and tracks.

The Mercedes AMG GT4 will also be added to the title as free content, along with the Ginetta G55 GT3. The Ginetta is intended to be raced against the Ultima GTR in a new GT Open class, rather than against other GT3s in the title.

Reiza is also bringing significant improvements to Automobilista 2's mechanical damage modeling, which should bring enhanced realism thanks to the addition of common real-world issues like misfires and coolant leaks. Reiza notes that this can be disabled by players looking for a simpler racing experience.

You can read the full August, 2022 development update on Automobilista 2's Steam page. Are you looking forward to these updates? Is there new content you're specifically waiting to try? Let us know in the comments below.

I'm looking forward to the update and the Merc GT4 but looking more forward to an AI and MP overhaul so I can truly enjoy this title more.

Content coming in this update.

Tracks:
Daytona oval
WWT Raceway
Autoclub

Cars:
Merc GT4
Ginetta GT3 to run in the GT open class with the GT Ultima
22 Reiza Indy version track and oval version.

Hopefully DLC USA PT. 4 will feature more ovals as 3 is kinda pointless for all the effort that went into it but time will tell.

Keep up the good work, Reiza!
Other new cars will be
- a 1965 Mini Cooper with slicks in Copa Classic
- a fictional Vulkan Truck in the Copa Truck class

Well, nice, but what about the infamous problem with the AI not being able to refuel properly? Not sure FCY makes sense while the sim only works well for races shorter than one tank.

Hopefully this is going to be addressed soon

This update will be huge, but I'm not sure if we need more cars and tracks...
The Sim already has lots and lots.

Very excited for the 2022 "Indycar". If it feels as good as the 2022 "F1" car then it's gonna be a blast. Just need more of the tracks from this year's calendar

Everything in the dev report sounds incredible, and seeing as the last couple of updates have already brought great improvements I'm really looking foward to the next build.

And Indy cars 2022, Hell yeah, freakin stoked. (I have cash waiting for an Indy track pack)

Reiza never fails to deliver. I have been buying their titles from the start and was already amazed of what they achieved later with AMS1, so had not doubt jumping in the ‘AMS2 adventure‘ at the first posibility. At first I was a bit disappointed when they went for the Madness engine, because of earlier experiences I had with PC1 and PC2 (beautiful graphics but very fluctuating physics, FFB and AI). But they have done great things already with this Madness engine and I am sure it will even get better. AMS2 and rFactor 2 share my top spot for sim racing nowadays (rF2 always was my sole #1 sim racing game).

I can honestly say, if you could only have ONE sim, that just works out of the box that you can have fun with without modding.

There is no substitute for AMS2.

If I have one wish, I would really like to see the mid 2000s GT cars like in GTR2 added to the sim. I find myself still playing an aged GTR2 from time to time, but if we could have GT cars from that time period in AMS2 I would no longer need any other Sim.

Absolutely amazing news. My only disappointment is that there's no news about custom grids. Now that we have custom skins for cars, custom AI traits and even custom helmets and suits are coming it would be logical to let the user decide the opponents exactly how they want. Fingers crossed it will come at some point.
