It almost defies belief after what we've been through as fans since 2014, but this is really and truly starting to look like Max's year. I think Max wins again.

One related side note is it's amazing how much seeing Lewis really have to work at it has reminded me what a talent he is. I still don't think I'll ever be what you'd call a Lewis fan (I find him a little whiny at times, honestly) but there is no doubt he's one of the best to ever suit up. I don't think I'd be alone in granting more respect watching Lewis scratch and claw his way to a close second (if that is indeed what happens...long way to go yet) than I would watching him coast to another "managed" championship. Winning championships, for me, are important insofar as I think when one is placed near the grasp of one of the greats, the greats seem to find a way to get a finger on it. Even if they can't always get a full on grip, watching them try is what brings out the best in them and creates compelling action for us fans. Watching another championship fall into Lewis' lap just so he can have an absolute statistical lead? Nah, doesn't mean much to me. Watching him ring every tenth out of that car trying (but not always succeeding) to catch Max? Yes, like.

Mostly I'll just be looking for a good race and hoping to see some compelling action near the sharp end of the grid. I think the track is wonderful - I have a fondness for the shorter tracks, they just seem to have a more distinctive rhythm to them. The Red Bull Ring is fun to hotlap AND seems to have a knack for producing a good bit of on track action in racing conditions. Austria also provides one of the most beautiful settings on the calendar, too!

Most impressive driver in F1 - Norris easily. Just remarkable in a slow car.

Would be good to see Norris at Red Bull soon, but no way MV would allow to that.

Maybe possible, i don't know - you usually see one good driver in the team with one not quite so good.
What rocket fuel did they give norris today.

It looked like an exception with ricardo and norris; DR was probably considered number 1 initially -- but what is happening there is crazy.

Would like to see Norris win but honestly I can't see him beating Max, he could well be on the podium. Bigger imo is Russell in 9th, amazing considering how awful the Williams car is. Tomorrow he could actually get point(s). For Williams finishing 10 would be enormous

Also who is this guy driving the other McLaren and where is the real Ricciardo?

definitely agree with you. Norris is doing well the young guns they are coming
when I said that 2 years ago I was laughed at on RD. But there is a seriously good generation coming including Max who has also opened the doors for younger talent

Yes, Norris was the best today! ButI think you are mistaken Max for Lewis at Mercedes, not wanting a fast(er) teammate.

I think McLaren has built a car that really suits Norris, because he is destroying Ricciardo in that car. What is even more surprising is Lando beating both Mercedes cars. Has McLaren built a better car? Lewis just said in an interview that their car has too much drag on the straights compared to the McLaren…

Second best driver today was Russell.
