New Fast Lane and AI Hints for Le Grand Circuit 1967 1.6

What:
A new fast_Lane.ini and a new ai_hints.ini file for Le Mans 1967 from right here on RD Le Mans 1967 and for RacinJoe's version over on GTplanet.

Installation:
Copy the fast_lane.ini and the pit_lane.ini files to the 'ai' folder.
Copy the ai_hints.ini file to the 'data' folder.
(make sure you backup the files you've already got)

Used mods and settings:
WSC Legends 60's Pack
Tested with: AI skill 100% and AI Aggression 60%

Results:
In race trim the Ford GT40 MKIV does around 3:22 (qualifying was 3:25 in 1967).
The main gain is that the MKIVs no longer treat Mulsanne's sandbanks as a trampoline.

AI at work:

Known issues:
The MKIV tends to cut Mulasanne and Arnage to close.

Surprising perk:
The MKIV power slides out of Tetre Rouge every time!

Finally:
It was one thing for the purple, yellow and red lines to start clipping apexes on my daily commute, last week they also appeared around the office hallways and supermarket alleys. I guess it's probably time for a break. So here is my take on the AI fast lane for Le Grand Circuit.

Latest updates

  1. WSC inspired update of AI data

After the WSC60 release I found the need to update my AI data.ini file. They are now a lot safer...
  2. less dust, less carnage same lap times

    * New side line to prevent unnecessary dust being kicked up in the the first kink after ' Tertre...
  3. even less kissing at Mulsanne

Cleaned up the AI hints file only No new line.

Perfect many thanks for your work. This has enhanced and great track even more.
You absolute madman, you managed to keep the GT40 from plowing into everything at Mulsanne. I tried and failed many times, how did you do it? How much did you pay the AI?
Thank you so much for this. You have finally made this track raceable. Many of us have spent hours and hours trying to fix it. This is the mod of the year as far as I'm concerned.

Thank you all for your kind reviews.
It was purely a selfish endeavor but I’m happy to read you are enjoying it too.
You keep improving it, I'll keep rating it! Thanks
You made this track with the frustrating AI into a gem. You fixed it and I am grateful! Can you take a look at Spa 66 and the silly behavior after La Source?

Thank you very much.
I don't want to criticize, I'm happy about what your modder makes possible, but would it be possible to create a folder structure in the following updates?
Not for me, but there are certainly people out there who aren't that adept at handling files.
Now Le Mans will be rocked in the Porsche 906 by THR.

Hi J.J.
Thank you for the stars and the advise!
I will oblige in any update.
I agree with the user below, it is a game changer, indeed.
Tested with full 46 grid (pits extension) of 60's race cars, 94-98% ai str / 45-55% agg. Simply amazing, no more deathcrush mayhem (any musical reference is purely coincidental).
Many thanks!
Freakin' game changer that's what it is !

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I love to race on this track with a Porsche 906.
Hopefully the Ai will be hard to beat now.
Outstanding! Now is ever more enjoyable to race classic cars around vintage LeMans... We just need a 55/60 grid-slot LeGrand Circuit and we are done!

thank you.
I think you'll find what you're looking for on page 5 of the discussion thread of the track here on RD.
We needed this so bad, thank you!
Incredible, racing here is much more fun now!
Nice. Thanks.
Not covered by the notes but the two biggest gains for me: finally I'm not taking 5 seconds per lap on the AI by driving Maison Blanche properly and they stay to the outside with a passing lane on the s/f straight. Excellent work, thank you for sharing.
