Been so impressed with your other tracks I thought I would give it a quick try whilst testing out the Opel Calibra DTM. I have to say it is a lot of fun it's such a narrow track.
I know people aren't too impressed with the grass texture and road textures but if you are going fast enough it's all a bit of a blur anyway. For me personally I really like the track and if better shaders down the line = less fps then I would prefer how it is now.
Nice work. Too smooth for me though. I read it was a rough track in real life and on this version I miss being skipped across the track coming up around turn 2 . I will stick with the earlier version that has all the funky trees. (-:
Not the finest 3D work as the road is a little too smooth and the scenery textures too simple but enough to enjoy the spirit of the original circuit. Thanks you for having bring to Assetto one of my favorite tracks ever.
Very good update , awsome work , the only thing for improvement i think is the grass texture , the grass is now to unnatural , slippery look like a billiard cloth , whe the grass is fixed to natural is it awsome work 10 points :) Thank you very much
Has the potential to be good (personally love this circuit). I feel needs a lot more work atm. FPS drops are spoiling it at the moment. GFX could use a bit more polish too. But keep up the work! Such a classic tracks needs a good AC version!
It's not bad for a port, but there are two major things that can be done for a start (if the author is interested, otherwise I might just do it myself if I get big enough of a motivation). 1. The trees aren't double sided therefore the normals are screwed up which results in them looking ugly, you need to literally replace every tree by hand or find a more innovative way (depends on the software you use). Here is a screenshot from the editor (http://prntscr.com/c4gurm) and from Blender (http://prntscr.com/c4gvoe). 2. The road texture could use more detail, I noticed that you use the right shader but it still looks just like a regular texture with a specular map.
Awesome track! A great circuit and a great addition to Assetto.
It does have a few minor things that need tweaking... The trees in particular need adjusting, but only from a helicopter view lol
I also think it needs a little bit of optimisation, as seems a little bit heavier on frames than it should be. But apart from that... Superb job mate :)
Have done a set of TV cams for it... If anyone wants them... http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/cadwell-park-tv-cams.11525/
If the trees look better I'll get the helicopters out lol
Loved this track in every sim I've tried. This version seems longer in some sections of the track than in the other sims and I'd love to know which is the most accurate.
Colours here seem over saturated, other wise good fun.
Nice improvement on the last one!
I remember downloading Cadwell Park already some months ago but it was terrible looking, with ugly textures and it was so bumpy it was impossible to drive... Maybe it wasn't yours though!
This one is much, much better.
Trees are still a pain to look at though.
The road itself is great to me!
Almost too flat now. ha ha
The lighting seems a bit darker than Kunos tracks, I hope you'll be able to improve it! :)
I guess I agree with previous comment about the speed limiter issue, even if I didn't notice it at first.
Anyway, thank you very much and I hope you'll keep working on it, as it's one of my favorite tracks!
A real joy to drive with a Caterham car! :)
OK here goes. I have given this 5 stars, as I feel it warrents 5 stars, but there is a couple of things that I would like to mention.
1) 3d Grass - Who cares about 3d grass. I have never heard an ARDS instructor ask, "does the grass look pretty"...oh Please.. concentrate on the bloody track people LOL
2) The pitlane exit speed limiter should turn off a little closer, than until you are right on track, say 50yrs closer
3) There is something in the track / mesh, that sends you off on a tangent in a low downforce car. I have a picture but obviously I cannot post it here. Ok if I am first gear, but this should be a 2/3rd gear corner easliy.
4) Replay cams need some work. Maybe have a word with Norbs (he is the master ) and also Pheonix77 for Heli/Drone cams, also another master. I tried to do a quick video, but the cam switches so quick, it doesn't look right.
Apart from that.....a bloody top job there, really fun and technical to drive, you see what this is a bike circuit, it's so tight, but with the right "drivers" this will be a must in any championship.
great, smooth mesh on road ! But the vegetation, especially trees with more polygons and add the grass 3d would be great! So would be this possible to create 2 layout ? long and short please ? :-) THANKS FOR A VERY GOOD TRACK !!
