No mod for the VRC F1 2005 cars for the moment. I'm waiting for v1.2 of the cars; then I'll start working on slicks for those cars.

Awesome mod!! Slicks not showing visually however.. How can i fix this?
LTLGamer1
LTLGamer1
1) Is The only problem with the slicks version a visual one?
2) Did you update CM and CSP to the latest version?
Shaved a whole 6 seconds off my time my god this is fast but probably in real life very dangerous!
Absolute hoot. For reference my best times around Laguna Seca:
F2004 - 1:03.9
RSS FH 2020 - 1:02.6
F2004 Slicks - 1:01.6
Long live the F2004!

Glad you liked it. Long live the F2004 indeed!
Hi, for peoples who didn't hear the sound of the car when you drivze the F12004 with slick tires, you have to NOT FIX but REPLACE the sound. (When you did the manipulation, you have next to the bottom play, "Fix vehicule". He said the sound file got a wrong name, DO NOT CLICK ON FIX IT, but look a tiny bit further down and you'll see "Replace sound with another vehicle". You just have to select the original F12004 and it's fix. (Sorry if my english is not the best, i'm french so that's why)
Like the mod, but cant seem to find instructions.

LTLGamer1
I'm actually working on another instruction video. Sorry for the delay.
The mod itself is really great! There's no huge bug or things that make the car unusable. The only problem is the rotation angle is quite off : I have a G29 locked to 360° but the car only uses 180° so it's quite difficult to control. I am not blaming you though, could be a problem with my settings specific to this car. If you have any suggestions, maybe a Discord server ? Thanks for the great mod!!
LTLGamer1
LTLGamer1
The vanilla F2004 has a lock of 180° and that's what the other cars here have.
nice
wow, besides your easy "install" tutor, this is just awesome.
How u come to this? I Mean...basically...did u mess around, mixing/messing around with some stuff?

While i write this, i just remember, that people also used to have the idea of a Porsche Engine in a "VW Kaefer" and then just built it in with bare hands...so.....

I assume, it could be same like here...some technics know ow and messing around until it fits...^^

However- nice, made me a lot faster on (your?) server...

No one said that the installation was "easy". However, this was the only way to ensure that RD's file sharing rules were not violates.

As for the mod, you're quite on the money; I have been "mixing/messing around with some stuff" since the mod's release in 2020. The earliest versions of the mod were basically F2004+SF70H tyres. Though fast, the driving dynamics were not those of the F2004.

It wasn't until v1.5-1.6 that I learnt more about what the fields in the tyres.ini file did. From that point on, the mod became mostly what you see here.

When Chuck does Hotlaps uploaded the video featuring the "Slicks" version of the car (he was the development driver for the mod), I realized that my method to "degrooving" the F2004's tyres worked as intended.
Great hypothetical, but I have one gripe if you call it that,
the default setup for the car with slicks has too rearward of an aero balance, I changed the rear wing to 16 degrees and literally ran watkins glen 5 seconds faster than the rss 2019 mod, which for some reason is faster than the 2020. 1.09:9 vs 1:15:0

Still really fun to drive the fastest feasable car in sim racing though
Great mod!
But! From the first laps I drove in Spa 4 seconds faster. I think this is too fast. It seems to me in real life slicks would not give such speed.

For comparison I tried to swap tires from SF70h, but for some reason the swap does not work in the current CM version (strange, because once I changed tires in this way on other cars). It would be interesting to compare tires from SF70h to yours.

I downloaded another similar mod. It looks like there is identical physics. The difference is that another mod adds Pirelli slicks visually also.
Thanks to your mod I explode all my lap times, it's a blessing. Great job, thank you very much.
Dear LTLGamer1. Could you explain to me how to install the Ferrari F2004 Slick Tires mod on Renault R25? I tried everything and I couldn't. I would be very grateful if you could answer me. Thank you very much
This question i asked myself many times and many years ago is virtual answered, thank you for 1 less anchored question xD 5+
LTLGamer1
LTLGamer1
Good to know that I've answered that question for you (virtually at least).
Superb. Maybe a little overpowered? It works too with the skins of the R25 and the others. great work

LTLGamer1
Thanks man!. Appreciate it.
for those who had the no sound issue even after fixing file names, what I did to make it work was removing sfx folders from custom versions and then going to content manager and opening cars in content tab, there at the bottom you can click "Replace sounds" and choose F2004, this created GUID.txt files in sfx folders which were needed to make it work, they were not present in original directory for me
driving this car is absolutely pleasant but im having a problem, no sound at all, i changed the sfx file name and still doesn't work, regular f2004 does work though. any help?
LTLGamer1
LTLGamer1
If you followed all the steps, then there should be a GUIDs.txt file in the sfx folder of the mod car. The car name inside this file, the name of the F2004 sfx file and the mod folder name should be the same. DM me if the problem persists.
Mate, you created a real monster. I was able to install it perfectly following the steps in your video. Thanks, great job.

LTLGamer1
You're welcome, man. That said, I updated the mod just as you posted this review. The steps in the video apply to the current version as well.

Awesome work. Followed the steps and works like a charm! Thank you!

LTLGamer1
Good to know. You're welcome.
The mod is really awsome, maybe even perfect!
All the step cars are amazing to drive, physics is neat as it should.
Not so long ago I wrote a review and and ran into a problem with the mod, this problem is now solved as it was a problem from me, not the mod.
So thanks again for the amazing mod!!

Glad you're enjoying the mod.
