The Historic Sim Studios team is proud to present the 2023 North Wilkesboro Speedway racetrack for Assetto Corsa! This weekend NASCAR will return to this legendary venue for the first time in over 25 years. We are currently working on 1994, 1972, and 1954 (dirt) versions of this iconic track.

We rely upon community support and donations to complete projects just like this, as all versions of this track will be released for FREE to the public once development is complete.

We love vintage and classic racing! The Historic Sim Studios team produces historically accurate cars and race tracks for Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Pro (we are certified as a Kunos Sim Center), Automobilista 2, and Rennsport.

Latest reviews

Overall, I'd say this is a pretty good version of NW that you can definitely have fun with, but it does have its ups and downs.

Purely as a track - with AI not factored in - this is where this mod shines. The bumps and the way the track drives overall both feel highly realistic, and it's so fun testing and tweaking setups to try to get the most out of the car. (Protip: soft right-side suspension works wonders with the HSS 1994 Stock Car mod).

Where it falls apart a bit is with AI. For some reason, about half the AIs don't want to move on the first attempt after loading in, so you have to restart the race to get them to move. And even when they get moving, they're honestly nothing special. They crash often, which causes huge pileups, and even their fastest laps are around a second off what a human can do - quite a difference over a nineteen-to-twenty-second lap and often difficult to navigate due to the huge speed differences.

Rated 4/5 because it's definitely above average, but the AI really needs work.
Glad to see the initial issues are fixed! I've done a few races here now, both serious and for fun (ex. Daihatsu Midget-II one-make), and it's an excellent adaptation of the oval. Lots of attention to detail you'll notice most during replays/photo mode, and the track surfacing feels appropriate. Easy recommendation.
Hi! Track is perfect but i have a question... What nascar mod did you use in the pictures?
With 1.01 system no longer crashes. Would like to have some fans etc in the stands.

Excellent track! Probably the most attention to detail in the track surface of any oval made for AC. Latest update fixed the crashing issues I was having before.
Unfortunately, it crashes on my machine. I am hoping for an update.

Nice Track. The only criticism: Over 550 MB for a short oval seems to me to be not yet optimally optimized. But it runs fine on my Machine even in 4k. My problem memory space 10TB all full. Life is Hard.

We use 4K textures with our tracks, so the file sizes are going to be larger then those who decide a 4k texture is not worth the additional fidelity.
Great stuff! One issue I'm having with this version of the track (not present on the 1994 version) is the first 2 spots inside line on the grid don't move at race start.

More great stuff from THE best mod creators in the AC community! this tracks pairs very well with my Sundrop #3 livery!
