URD eGT mod

Reminds me of the chaos and bloodshed at racesimcentral when Hudson Kerr started selling hi-res skies for rfactor.

Just to record my voice for statistics ;-)
I have no problems with modders asking for few euros. If I think its not worth it, I just pass.
In case of URD's works, I never regretted getting it.

I have no problem paying a couple of euros for a great quality all round mod.
You Wouldn't think twice spending money on absolute :poop: over the weekend.
So why not support hard working talented modders .

Gamers have been spoilt over the years with top quality mods
Like ,
Ralph Hummerichs gp4 and f1 challenge mods,
CTDP F1 challenge and rfactor,
iDt simulations mods,
Oggos amazing gp4 models.

There was so many greats over the years and have been free.

I have done some modding back in the day with f1 challenge,
F1 1994 MMG
F1 1989 BMCM which was our own group from racesimulations.com

So i know how much work goes into creating mods and how hard it is to the keep the motivation.

I cant wait to try out this mod tomorrow :D
Keep up the good work!

I am not impressed with AC, maybe I haven˙t given it enough chances, but I prefer driving full racing clases, not just a car or two from the series. But that˙s just me, so please AC fans, don˙t force me to like it just now . URD EGT mod is my favorite choice in rF2, so I am hoping, it will open new perspective for me also in Assetto Corsa. Thanks Aleš!

I have EGT for AC and rF2 and don't regret it one bit. Good quality stuff. Tx Aless. I was happy to sacrifice a couple fastfood lunchs for the mod's. The C7 for both would be making me real happy though. J/K I know they are coming. :)

I really can't see the issue here, either you're willing to pay for the content or you're not. I don't understand why people get their dander up over something that is optional. If URD feel that they would like a financial remuneration for their many hours of effort, then good for them. If simracers want to purchase this content thats their decision, if you don't agree, that's you're decision. No need for a war, theirs too many of them happening today as it is.
As my Granny use to say, "If you have nothing nice to say, then it's best to say nothing at all.

Payed mods were inevitable, and considering how much content the major software companies like Codies, EA or Activision sell as DLC, I think the simracing community has done well to go for as long as it has to avoid the profit hungry direction most industries end up in once they become heavily commercialised.

And be warned, the commercialisation of our hobby is coming, the fact the FAI have put cease and desist orders out on FAI sanctioned series in mods rings alarm bells for me. The official racing bodies are starting to take notice of the popularity of racing sims, and they can see a large profitable niche area, and they stand to make more money from game sales than selling a few car licenses to a few devs I would think.

When this happens, and it will, I for one will be glad that mod teams like URD exist, because their payware content will be cheaper than the hungry multimillion dollar dev companies content will be, just look at how much DLC Activision has released for the Call of Duty series and thats on top of the initial game purchase of $89 (thats AU dollars) how much do you think they ask for their DLC's, a bit more than 9.95Euro I think.

I'm all for helping the little guy and I will buy this mod, as I feel the content is worth the asking price and no doubt with the hours of enjoyment I will get it's a no brainer for value.

Just an old guys opinion.
Cheers.

Mods must be free, modders can't charger for it. I think people will find the way to get it for free anyway. Is it legal to charge for mods at all?

I couldn't disagree more! also please don't advocate piracy! no matter how subtle you say it!

it would only be illegal if they were charging for unlicensed copy write material.....URD don't.

because EA hold the Porsche license! so URD alter the body slightly and change the name...ergo no infringement!
