Track Designing Competition

You're going to have to give us a bigger bit of land, those fields can barely fit a 5km track in, let alone 7km plus space for facilities.

This is about the only thing possible, and it is all slow bad corners and no straights, so the racing there would be terrible for F1.
Wow you're right. It's the same size of land as Hungaroring, so I thought it would work. Forgot to notice Hungaroring is only 4.2km. Here is a new bit of land:

Are you guys disagreeing with my choice of winner? Or that I thought it was a crappy challenge? Because I don't need the "disagree" to bring down my ratings. :(
Probably they're saying it wasn't a crappy challenge. I didn't think it was, especially once you changed the area.

The one and only Grand Prix circuit I've ever been to, although not while a race was being held, was the old 1984 US GP in Fair Park, Dallas. The original circuit was anti-clockwise and quite tight through some of the buildings in the park.

I've updated the layout by pushing the S/F line out to Fitzhugh Ave. Most of it is pretty similar to the original, but I've taken out a couple of the chicanes to increase the speed in some places. It still goes around the stadium, cattle barns, and the old railyard. In all, the length increased about 0.5km

It's a swing bridge. It always split in two and spun around onto land, to stop the port being blocked. They pretty much only closed it on Grand Prix weekends and welded the gaps shut. You can see the bridge still there though, just on either side of the channel.

I'm awful at these things. But how about this:

As Bathurst is on next week, redesign the bottom half of Mt Panorama, Bathurst, while retaining the top section of track, from the end of Mountain straight to the start of Conrod straight. You can go through any existing buildings or property, but not touch any of the existing pit buildings.

Rough outline of the area to change. You don't need to stay inside the blue line. :)
