I saw a lot of guys which have big issues with freezing pc's during a race, please let me do some investigation and check this poll.

I wouldn't give up yet Bram.

We are going to get another patch for the Race On release - even if you don't purchase Race On you will get patched - so I would give them one more chance to fix it.

If it still freezes after that, then give up

(btw, I haven't had a single freeze since I did a clean install after the 1.2.0.8 patch)

Freezing, this week 5 times..!?

Hi~ a million guys.

I have problem with Freezing this week.
this is first time for me to make a proper balls-up of my league.

I have changed my Graphic car about 3 months ago with GTS250 512M
and also power supply with hiroichi 600W.
(main board : ASUS P5Q SE STCOM / CPU : Yorkfileld Q8300/win XP)
so, for a good while I was free from Freezing.

But, during these several days, i have Freezing severally 5 times.
almost every day...and yesterday it ruined my final league.

I'm using 3 monitors 17" 26" 7"...and takatec,telemetry,IRC also.

Do you see, my PC has problem?
or i need to change my Graphic card?

There's a massive thread about the freezing issue.

For most people, it was solved with the last patch.

I have checked it through before...but, I will do it again.

however, it's interesting, Sound card's update could have the influence?
I using an additional sound card...but never did upgarded it to this day.
I will check it.

I checked yesterday with new Driver for SB audigy value.
and had a race with 30 of AI (full) at ESTORIL 6Laps short race.

I think it works....but i don't sure it is cured now.
no lags, even when i start Practice1 with 30 of AI,
usually there was a lag when i start to get through out of my garage,
Coz, when the practice starts it going to drive in front of bunch of AIs
but there was no lag..even that moment..interesting.

So, Users have problem with WIN 7, i think, need to upgrade all drivers,
even sound driver also ,especially additional sound cards user.

I was having freezing all the time with my 4850, now I've upgraded to a 5850 the freezes have gone away.

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but I've suddenly been having heaps of freezes.

I asked for help with selecting the right card when getting my new PC, and I eventually elected to go with the GeForce 9800GT. I have been playing the game almost since the machine arrived, and for the first week or so it's been running fine on medium settings. Smoother than a caramel milkshake, and no problems at all... But just today I got three or four freezes with garbled graphics. I am at a loss as to why it would suddenly play up like this. I installed Mike's drivers (the ones that solved Mtommi's problems) with no luck. Problems with heating and dust should be non-existent, as the system's only a week and a half old. I've searched through this whole thread and found no answer... could anyone lend a helping hand?

My card is an Nvidia GeForce 9800GT (1GB) and the CPU is an Intel Quad core Q9550, and the OS is Windows XP Home.

My graphic card is an 8800 GT wich is similar to yours.
I used new nvidia drivers but i had big freezes and stuttering.
After installing win xp new, i use old drivers and its much better.
Try these if you dont find another solution: 175.16

Additional i installed ntune to turn up the gfx cooler.
If your card is overclocked you can change this with this program, too.
But you need to be careful with this.

And in the files config.ini and sys.ini i corected this line: Video RAM: 511 MB.
It had a wrong higher value but i cant say if this helped.

Since replacing my 9800GT with Cam's 9600GT card, I am still almost trouble free. With my previous card, I was plagued with freezes.

My 9800GT was a Gigabyte brand.

Game hangs halfway into racing

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

Windows 7 64-bit
Intel i7
ATI HD 4870 x 2 (crossfired)
Sony LCD TV

Have settings at 1920x1080
Environment settings - Max
Tried AA level 3 and AA disabled
Refresh 29mhz

Settings above all hang on me within 2 mins of driving. This is kinda getting to me as it's been happening every time I play. Help appreciated, thanks!

are your video cards watercooled? ive had all kinds of problems with my nvidia cards untill i realized they were running VERY HOT, got a card with a cooling block and a nice water pump\radiator combo and running everything smooth ever since

RACE 07: My way to no freeze ... with nvidia 8800GTX

Hi all

My graphic card: MSI nvidia 8800 GTX

Here is the list i tried to get no freeze, but only changes the frequency of occurrence:

• Bios: always up to date
• OS: WinXPx86 SP2, WinXPx86 SP3, WinXPx64 SP2
• DirectX: allways up to date
• Tools: nHancer, Game Booster
• nvidia grapic settings: Different settings of vSynch, AA, AF, ...
• nvidia grapic driver:
  • 191.07_desktop_winxp_32bit_international_whql.exe
  • 195.39_desktop_winxp_32bit_international_beta.exe
  • 195.62_desktop_winxp_32bit_international_whql.exe
  • 196.21_desktop_winxp_32bit_international_whql.exe
• Monitor: 1, 2
• Some other drivers: chipset, sound, ...

But nothing of these points brought the solution :frown:
So i remeberd the times with no freezers :smile:
Then i build back my system step by step to the old settings :smile:

Finaly only an old graphic card driver brought back the good old "no freeze" times :smile:

So try this driver: 182.50_geforce_winxp_32bit_international_whql.exe
In the attachment are ingame video&environment settings !

After almost a year of freezers ... no freeze since 2 weeks :smile:

I hope i can help anyone with this info !

After 3 months of tyring everything; new-installation (virus-/bug free version) still had lots of problems, only with Race 07/GTR Evo. Another harddisk and yes, a couple of different nvidia drivers. But (sadly) not this one, the 182.50...

With OS Windows XP Professional i had good results with the 178.24 driver.

How many cars have you select on visibility? And do you have Replays on?

I use to run 186.18 with a GTS250 and XP
