Slightly Mad Studios have released the latest Project CARS 2 DLC pack to the game - welcome 'Spirit of Le Mans'.

Perfect timing considering the proximity to the real life Le Mans 24 Hours, the new DLC pack and update for Project CARS 2 on PC and console has arrived! As was expected follow news having leaked back in late May about the new pack, the third Project CARS 2 DLC focusses exclusively on the greatest endurance racing spectacle on the planet - the legendary 24 hours of Le Mans.

Containing an historic variant of the epic Le Mans circuit and nine important cars from the many years of the 24 Heures du Mans, the new DLC pack pays virtual homage to the history of this fabled motor racing event.

With cars from the modern era adding a welcome filling out of the Prototype category in the game sitting alongside some iconic machines of the past, the DLC also contains the 1971 variation of the circuit, similar but frighteningly faster than the current incarnation of the Circuit de la Sarthe, this is indeed a welcome "new" historic location in Project CARS 2.

Have you tried the new DLC yet? What are your thoughts? How to you think Project CARS 2 is shaping up now? Let us know in the comments section below!

Yes that's true but like you say I think the licensing side of things is probably the barrier. I'm surprised though, as they managed to convince a lot of manufacturers that others didn't manage.

The Assetto Corsa car originally started out as a mod (I think I'm right) and was then put in as official content, otherwise the Mazda's seem to only appear in console games. I would like to see the IMSA GTO as well.

I only suggested the 767B as a few of those are owned by privateers (and are still raced) so the possibility of getting data and access may be easier. Would still need to get permission from Mazda though.

The other thing I would like to see is an expansion of the Can Am cars of having all generations in there imagine the big 7L V8 chevys and Ferraris in there with some of the nuts stylings!

Hello, I have a Logitech G27 steering wheel and after patch 6 I noticed that the handling changed and worsened in my case (especially the force feedback).

I am looking forward to buying the Le Mans DLC but this problem has me worried.

Some have a good setup to share?.

Thank you.

I've set my FFB to the Informative preset with:
Gain 100 (leave at 100 to use the full torque output of the electric motors in the G27)
Volume 33 (30-35 is best for me)
Tone 50 (experiment with a range of 45-55)
FX 10 (I find that 0-25 is the best range for the G27 to avoid rattling)

Has anyone tried a race at Pocono (shortest, first, default version. although I didn't tried other, maybe they're the same) track after the patch with any car ?
I did with two different cars and in both cases AI is without a reason slow down on main straigh. :O_o:

Not fully but they drove at like 60-70%, and they so easy to pass.
Looks quite silly and unrealistic, not to mention that it kills any immersion that you're really racing there. Too bad, the track looks and feels amazing.

Classic Le Mans
Complaint #1: Faster class AI are idiots ... cruising down the Mulsanne, fully left lane with an open right lane, and the AI rearends me at speed.

Complaint #2: Obvious tree walls with zero attempt to disguise them. Soooo noticeable in triple screen!

Complaint #3: Texture quality is not as good as other tracks. The trees are missing "something", where I can't put my finger on it. The whole experience feels almost like rF1 in terms of lighting quality.

With all that said, I'm enjoying multiple classes with (mostly) period-correct cars mixing it up.

Le Mans track is so boring, i can close my eyes when i drive.
Try driving the track as its meant to be driven, with 3-4 classes of opponents passing you or getting in your way for a 4 hour double-stint at night in light rain & fog. Real shame that SMS doesn't allow more than 30 opponents, even if the capability would be used only by the few with good hardware.

I've seen this reported both internally (WMD beta testers), on the official forum and now here. Don't know what the deal is but it's certainly a bug that needs sorting.

Just tried the DLC tonight doing a couple of classic Le Mans races in the vintage cars and I have to say it was probably the best experience I ever had with the Project Cars franchise. It's true I'm worried the appeal will wore off rather quickly, as is usually the case with PCars for me, but I'd still recommend trying it out.

Totally agree.. I can’t even bring myself to do more than a couple laps..

But the new cars are pretty damn cool...!
Ok.. so I have to own up.. I'm an idiot... I grew up watching LeMans and one would think this DLC was a dream come true.. I gave it a couple of laps and made the ridiculous comment above!
Well i've done about 100 laps since then (;)) and I am absolutely in heaven..
Best DLC i've ever seen..
So here's a photo to show you what i've been up to the last 2 days!!

Hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!
